It's time... Yes we fucking hate summer.

Although it hasn't got as hot as it was last year (yet) I feel like I've already had enough. I'm got hayfever, I can't go outside without insects getting in my face and I'm already feeling hot and sticky. I also want to go to bed and someone round here is having an outdoors party. Yes I'm a Scrooge, no I don't care. Roll on autumn and crisp sunny days and frost and apples and brightly coloured leaves (ahh, I feel cooler already.)

Massively irritable again. Roll on Sunday!

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 11:47

I know the feeling!

Emmabryant123 · 28/06/2019 11:54

This weekend looks to be absolutely horrendous :(
Roll on Monday when it drops to 20c which is still to fucking hot 😬
I like a outdoor temp of about 12-15c

MadisonAvenue · 28/06/2019 12:04

Just checked our forecast for where I am for tomorrow and it's now saying 31 but feeling like 36.
I can't wait for Autumn.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 12:27

Just the 24c (according to fairies!) here is too hot for me. Praying it doesn't get as hot as yesterday.

Predictions for the next few days are gradually getting cooler. I'm wondering if the heat we have hear is moving to the east, the wind (which has now gone) is easterly...

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 12:29

Last year it was a lot cooler here at this time according to accuweather. 2nd July was when it hit over 30c!

RosaWaiting · 28/06/2019 14:12

ooh I just looked that up
today last year was 29 here

1st July was 32.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 14:28

Stupid weather.

Still getting hot.

Isn't it supposed to get cooler at 3pm??? Here it gets hotter.

Decormad38 · 28/06/2019 14:30

Bring it on. Can't wait.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 14:41

Cooler weather? Yes definitely. Been so ill today Sad

Emmabryant123 · 28/06/2019 14:47

I always feel like 3pm feels like the hottest part of the day to

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 15:24

27c currently and still rising - that's from the local independent station which is a good two miles from me and near the ocean.

Expected to be over 30c at 5pm.

Accuweather fairies are saying it's going to be 30 at 5pm.. Metoffice and BBC claim it's currently 25c and will drop to 23c by then.

Seriously. Is the 12-3pm thing a myth?? Didn't cool here until about 9pm last night and even then it wasn't really cool - I don't call 18c cool and that was with a wind of 40 knots!

Tomorrows thunderstorm and rain has disappeared. As has the maximum temp of 20c

Sad
darkergreener · 28/06/2019 15:27

I find it's most intensely hot between 3-5ish, partly because everything's been fully heated up all day and the concrete and walls just keep releasing the warmth.

It's when it doesn't cool down overnight that I properly lose it as we get no sleep, and tonight and tomorrow look worrying there.

Still, last year around here we had routine days of high 20s and low 30s from April to late August without a break, so at least this is only a short burst.

We can do this people! Rallying shout from here! 🌧❄️🌧

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 15:48

Thinking about it here I'm by a main road which during 3-6 is pretty much jammed with traffic which won't help.

Here we had days every week at least 20, rarely does it get higher than 30, but this will be two days in a row it has done so and no way to cool the flat down as one door got broken last year by builders jamming their scaffolding into it and large window got broken because of a gas leak and the gas board broke it instead of trying to open it - both will only be fixed if I move out...

It still made me really unwell. I definitely would not have survived in a city or warmer part of the U.K. Last year.

Am praying it will actually be cooler tomorrow. It's already exceeded 30 here now. I've got flat down to just over 22c but it's feeling very oppressive and I've medical equipment that won't work above 25c, and can't go in the fridge. Just rang pharmacy to be told I need to cool the flat off. Like its that bloody simple!

I hope the other person with autonomic issues on here is doing ok.

rosie1959 · 28/06/2019 15:48

Nice sunny 23 here but not heavy there is a lovely breeze
Being menopausal I have a fan most nights even in winter
Invested in a Dyson tower great fan cools the whole room
Looks like holding at low 20s after tomorrow which is fine x

Emmabryant123 · 28/06/2019 16:00

I can't bear it when it doesn't cool down at night...
We was on a day out yesterday and 3-6pm was definitely hotter than 12-3pm
We was at a kids theme park with my 3 year old
Ugh she was a sweaty mess as was I
What is enjoyable about it!?

SecretWitch · 28/06/2019 17:01

I feel as though I’m wearing a too tight, wet, angora sweater. I keep reminding myself that July means only 12 weeks until October...12 dreadful weeks.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 20:05

Thanks to my idiot neighbour my flat is now like a fucking oven.
They've come home, opened the doors and decided to cook, yes cook, a bloody meal. Because the doors are open its rapidly heating the whole property.

Another person living here is currently having a blazing row with them. Apparently the landlord has insisted that the heating in the empty flat above mine stays on(!) and they're above it.

I'm better off than him but I need the temperature to be dropping not sodding rising!

Apparently it's Friday so they must cook a proper meal.

Seriously who the fuck cooks a huge meal when it's 29c outside!!!

HelenaDove · 28/06/2019 20:49

Your landlord is a cunt.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 21:10

That's highly offensive helena. To cunts.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 21:12

No one or thing should have the misfortune of being associated with my landlord. Ever.

Grin

Temperature has dropped by .2 of a degree!!

Paddybare · 28/06/2019 21:16

The sun is at its strongest between 12-3 but that’s not necessarily when it’s the hottest air temperature. It will often continue getting hotter and hotter until about 5pm on a hot sunny day.

Worth remembering that a higher temperature does not equal more chance of getting burnt. You can get just as burnt on a 18 degree sunny June day as a 30 degree sunny June day.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 21:49

Thanks for the explanation paddy that makes sense.

darkergreener · 29/06/2019 09:33

Good luck today everyone, hopefully tomorrow will be better!

LoafofSellotape · 29/06/2019 09:52

It's hot but bearable for me,just. In about an hour I will be a hot messHmm
