It's time... Yes we fucking hate summer.

Although it hasn't got as hot as it was last year (yet) I feel like I've already had enough. I'm got hayfever, I can't go outside without insects getting in my face and I'm already feeling hot and sticky. I also want to go to bed and someone round here is having an outdoors party. Yes I'm a Scrooge, no I don't care. Roll on autumn and crisp sunny days and frost and apples and brightly coloured leaves (ahh, I feel cooler already.)

Good luck to all fellow heat haters for the next few days of hell sun. I'm bracing myself.

RosaWaiting · 27/06/2019 10:33

I thought the temp spike for Saturday looked rather odd and isolated

woke up today and immediately realised it's much warmer than forecast, so in reality I reckon today - Sunday in London will be pretty grim, not just the odd high forecast for Saturday.

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 13:05

Officially 26c here and rising.

Reality is much higher.

Am so scared I keep getting short tempered with people and crying all the time.

LoafofSellotape · 27/06/2019 14:33

Lots of cool drinks and wafts of breeze to fellow haters. I wish you could have the weather I have today, sunny with a beautiful cool breeze,my perfect weather. Won't last long,I'm sure it'll get unbearably hot 😞

RosaWaiting · 27/06/2019 15:40

spectacularly irritable

roll on Sunday, though I still can't quite believe the drop between Sat and Sun that's being reported.

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 15:49

According to the local fairies it's 27c and climbing.

According to the BBC fairies it is 23c and metoffice fairies its 24c

My equipment has 29c and there's breeze

It was predicted as 22c max today.

Before I went outside it was 21.2c inside now it's registering 23.4c.

I doubt I'll get a wink of sleep tonight. Saturday was 19 but now that's showing as a high of 24c and tomorrow is showing as 25c.

Can't put in words how scared I am Sad

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 15:50

How can they be 6 fucking degrees out?????

lolaflores · 27/06/2019 16:25

So glad I'm not in France.
I feel happier that it's not as bad as last year. I can handle a small bout of heat but the summer we had last year was too much to bear.

RosaWaiting · 27/06/2019 16:55

Becca what forecast are you using?

I tend to look at XCweather and Accuweather.

what I found out from someone at work was that they don't take temps in the sun.....er, what?!

chilimartini · 27/06/2019 17:02

HATE IT. I can't understand why anyone would enjoy it?? Sweaty smelly people on public transport...makeup sliding of your face.
I want autumn....I want my lovely cashmere jumpers and scarfs...I want to wear a big coat and boots.

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 17:30

Forecast wise I've been looking at BBC and metoffice nothing else is working on my device for some reason.

It's hit hotter here today earlier than it did last year. Here last year it was around 20c until July when it got very hot.

I'm sick of people telling me to cheer up as summers finally here and long may it continue...

I've not killed anyone. Yet.

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 17:35

Xcweather saying its 21c, tomorrow it'll be 23c max Hmm

Local station says its 27c. And cloudy.. (Fairies are hallucinating clouds!) I daren't go out again as I've just got the inside temp down to 21.4!

Accu weather saying its 25c at the moment and reached 28c (which is actually more accurate). Forecasting a cooler(!) 25c tomorrow....

Spooksandchocolatecake · 27/06/2019 17:48

@TapasForTwo bath😥

RosaWaiting · 27/06/2019 18:40

I am supposed to go for long walk but I feel a bit strange. Meh.

Bookridden · 27/06/2019 18:57

The BBC is suggesting a drop of about 7 degrees between Saturday and Sunday. Does that sound right?

Dragongirl10 · 27/06/2019 19:01

Why don't you lot move to scotland or Wales, rarely gets hot(or dry)

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 19:05

dragon I am in Wales!!

MadisonAvenue · 27/06/2019 19:07

Book I’m getting around the same on both the BBC and the Met Office apps.
I’m dreading Saturday. Today is bad enough.

Dragongirl10 · 27/06/2019 19:14

BECCA...crikey, Greenland for you then...!!

Me l am dreaming about the Carribean..

Becca19962014 · 27/06/2019 19:31

dragon why bother? You can just come here Envy

ALongHardWinter · 27/06/2019 19:36

I never seem to meet IRL anyone who has the attitude towards hot weather that the majority of MNers on this thread have,i.e. that they hate it. Everyone that I speak to on a day to day basis, and I mean everyone LOVES it. I am regarded as an out and out weirdo because I can't find anything enjoyable about sitting on a bus feeling like I'm going to melt or faint, because the temperature must be touching 35 degrees where I'm sitting (because as usual, despite being disabled and wearing a 'Please offer me a seat' badge AND using a walking stick, all the priority seats at the front are taken and everyone pretends they haven't seen me) and I'm having to sit at the back,on the engine, which instantly makes it about 9 or 10 degrees hotter than the front! Or that I don't find anything enjoyable about sweating buckets just doing the most basic of household chore because my flat is a heat retaining box.

HelenaDove · 27/06/2019 19:38

29 here on Saturday and down to 23 on Sunday Seem to remember these inaccurate temp drops predictions last year Hmm

In other news the air conditioning unit DH bought for £69 back in February/March time has now been marked up to £99

HelenaDove · 27/06/2019 19:39

Yep same here Flat is too hot Over insulated social housing flat.

HelenaDove · 27/06/2019 19:49

When are ppl going to get the message that extreme heat is as dangerous as extreme cold.

Becca19962014 · 28/06/2019 10:18

23c that's because of the wind!
