It's time... Yes we fucking hate summer.

Although it hasn't got as hot as it was last year (yet) I feel like I've already had enough. I'm got hayfever, I can't go outside without insects getting in my face and I'm already feeling hot and sticky. I also want to go to bed and someone round here is having an outdoors party. Yes I'm a Scrooge, no I don't care. Roll on autumn and crisp sunny days and frost and apples and brightly coloured leaves (ahh, I feel cooler already.)

Becca
Hope you are ok
The heat must be absolutely horrendous for you

GummyGoddess · 07/06/2019 07:42

We're having fun weather here, I'm sorry for anyone where it's too hot. It's a bit humid and there's a weather alert for rain, but it's nice and cool.

Aus84 · 07/06/2019 08:15

Winter here - 18 degrees and I'm cold!!

Delatron · 07/06/2019 09:02

It’s really not shaping up like last year so far so it’s good news for all you heat haters really. Torrential rain here today, can’t do anything. Paddling pool that I bought is filling with rain.

There should really be a thread with the heat lovers moaning? As we haven’t had much decent weather yet (apart from Saturday). Yes Easter was nice not much since. Especially as we suffer for about 9 months with your preferred drizzly rainy cold weather.

Don’t think I’ve seen a moaning thread from any summer lovers though. Hmmm.

lorit · 07/06/2019 09:10

Ah I remember you from last year Grin I think we all said to hide the thread about fourteen thousand times then too.

Asta19 · 07/06/2019 09:13

That’s because if you go into work and say “god what a shit summer this is, where’s the sun?” You will get everyone agreeing and sympathising with you.

If we go into work on a hot day and complain about the heat we get reactions like “what’s wrong with you?” And “enjoy it while it lasts” etc.

That’s why we need this thread.

lololove · 07/06/2019 09:41

You could always start your own, Delatron, and leave us to support each other.

Delatron · 07/06/2019 09:45

Just thought the moaning might start when we were having some summer like weather. You’ve excelled yourselves this year! I’m gazing at torrential rain, wondering when my couple of weeks of warm weather this year will be.

I won’t start my own thread, I’m not a moaner..

ExpletiveDelighted · 07/06/2019 09:47

Steady rain here, perfect for my allotment. Nice and cool for me too Smile.

lorit · 07/06/2019 09:52

"I won’t start my own thread, I’m not a moaner.. ", she said, moaning.

Hope it rains the whole summer long quite frankly.

Emmabryant123 · 07/06/2019 09:53

We've had plenty of weather where I am that has been to hot for me

You don't have to read this you know ?
We don't care that you like summer... This is a place to vent about not liking it

As you were ...

Delatron · 07/06/2019 10:03

Just bemused how early the whinging started this year. Before any spell of decent hot weather. God help you all when summer actually kicks in... Cheerio!

Emmabryant123 · 07/06/2019 10:05

👋

resisterpersister · 07/06/2019 10:11

PMSL, not strong on self reflection, are you Delatron? Or irony (I'm assuming the irony of your post wasn't intentional).

Are you aware you are moaning about people you perceive to be moaning?

Do you think you might stop now?

lorit · 07/06/2019 10:17

Byeeeeeee! Miss you! (I'm sure you'll be back umpteen times like last year though, to tell people off even when it's heading into the 30s Grin)

Becca19962014 · 07/06/2019 10:18

We were having hot weather in March and every now and then it's really hot. Nothing like last year.

This is the only place I've found people who understand.

TapasForTwo · 07/06/2019 11:28

I think some people don't understand because people's personal definitions of hot are different. To me anything above 25 degrees is hot. Anything between 18 and 25 degrees is warm. To others anything above 15 degrees is hot.

I also think that an individual's lifestyle, build and health affect how you feel the heat. For example a commute in London on stuffy public transport on a hot day to go to work in an office or other place of work would be a nightmare for most people. Or living in a south facing flat with no outside space in a built up city. Contrast that to someone who drives in a car with air con to an office that has aircon, and who lives in a house on a hill with a garden.

Being able to escape the heat just makes it more tolerable. That I do understand.

I also think that some of us are just envious that a fair number of people on here are actually getting some hot weather, whereas some of us aren't.

RosaWaiting · 07/06/2019 11:47

I just ignore the people who are moaning. I said 100 times on last year's threads about hot office, hot Tube, hot flat...some people are just here to annoy, best not to engage.

one of my friends has a theory that there's something sinister going on underground as the Tube is always so hot Grin

Friends with gardens are very pleased about the rain. I do remember my mum was missing quite a lot of grass by mid-June last year!

LoafofSellotape · 07/06/2019 11:54

Our garden is stunning this year! Raining today but it's not cold, you just need a light jacket.

TapasForTwo · 07/06/2019 13:20

Friends with gardens are very pleased about the rain

Yes indeed. Our garden needs it. The reservoirs round here are fine, but I would far rather my garden got watered by rain than the hosepipe.

It's 14 degrees here and pouring with rain. I'm a wimp so I would need something warmer than a light jacket Grin

lorit · 07/06/2019 13:50

I just went out for a walk to enjoy a bit of rain. It says it's about 14 degrees here too, but it was so weirdly muggy/humid that it was too warm with a coat on. Rubbish!

CaptainHammer · 07/06/2019 16:03

So happy Delatron has fucked off. I never understand why some click on threads they have no interest in Confused

It’s lovely and rainy here today, if it stayed like this I’d be very happy.

Rockbird · 07/06/2019 16:52

Lovely and cool and rainy here too. Hurrah! Still boiling hot in the classrooms though. Must be body heat, it's always roasting.

RosaWaiting · 07/06/2019 17:23

it's very humid in London, so it feels hot...

my hair is accordingly very large!!!

TapasForTwo · 07/06/2019 20:07

I don't mind summer rain, but not every day. However, I can't cope with the low light levels. It makes me feel utterly, utterly miserable. This is what it has been like today. Having crap eyesight doesn't help.

It's time... Yes we fucking hate summer.
