Man who's been with 35 women.. red flag?

Man who's been with 35 women by the age of 33. Red flag? He has also been in a 5 year relationship with one person apparently in the near history...

Is this person a bit of a red flag for a serious relationship? (just based on this info?) Any examples of such man who have been "tamed" as it were?

In this day and age 35 women is really low! ... even with a 5 year relationship. It's in the past anyway! No it is not a red flag.

Msfoxy17 · 11/05/2019 21:38

I might see be wary if he hadn't had a single long term relationship..but if you mean he's slept with 35 women, then no,personally I don't think that's a huge number, at 33...

IdblowJonSnow · 11/05/2019 21:38

Not necessarily.
Is it recently or a while ago? Was he faithful in his relationships?

NataliaOsipova · 11/05/2019 21:39

Not necessarily. He started at, say, 17. So he’s been sexually active for 16 years. That only equates to just over two partners per year (excluding the 5 year relationship, which shows willingness to commit/settle down etc). Just sounds like he had a few years of putting it about a big when younger, which isn’t the end of the world. Perfectly reasonable to date someone for a couple of months when you’re young and decide it’s not worth pursuing long term; it doesn’t even imply he’s had loads of one night stands. I’d say nothing to worry about.

cookiechomper · 11/05/2019 21:39

I don't think that's a huge number considering his age.

Anerak · 11/05/2019 21:40

35 women is not a lot.

IcelandicYoghurt · 11/05/2019 21:40

I think that's fine. I expect my DP has slept with a similar number of women tbh.

Msfoxy17 · 11/05/2019 21:41

On average 2.3 a year if he lost his virginity at 18!

Bodear · 11/05/2019 21:42

I’d slept with more men than that by the age of 30 and I’ve now been happily married for 15 years. I don’t understand why it would be a red flag? Is this some kind of reverse to do with attitudes to make and female sexual experiences?

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 11/05/2019 21:43

That number would be too high for me. However others think it's low so depends on your own stance.

Thatsnotmyotter · 11/05/2019 21:43

Probably not far off my number and I’m mid 20s. I’m now very happily married and have been in a monogamous relationship for several years.

It’s quite normal to have a ‘young, free, and single’ phase in your late teens/early 20s IME.

cricketmum84 · 11/05/2019 21:44

Not at all. IME 35 women is quite a low figure. My number is higher than that and I certainly ain't no no red flag.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/05/2019 21:49

Way to high for me!

VampireSlayer19 · 11/05/2019 21:50

No but make sure both get checked for STDS before unprotected intercourse

Justlikedevon · 11/05/2019 21:54

He has slept with 35 people? That is not a number to lose sleep over. Not sure why it would be a red flag!

Hecateh · 11/05/2019 21:54

If he's bragging about it THAT is a red flag. If he's not, then how do you know?

LikeDolphinsCanSwin · 11/05/2019 21:55

Surely most people stop counting by the time they get to 35 Confused

NameChangeNugget · 11/05/2019 21:56

35 really isn’t a lot

mclady · 11/05/2019 21:58

I'm more alarmed that he kept count 🤣

User11011 · 11/05/2019 21:59

I don't think that is that many tbh... Confused

LocksMyth · 11/05/2019 22:00

He would still be the same person he is now, regardless. Anyone can lie about their number of previous liaisons. I have never understood the relevance of knowing either way.

AFistfulofDolores1 · 11/05/2019 22:01

A man who's been with 35 women: not a problem.

A man who tells you he's been with 35 women: potentially a problem.

PrincessMaryaBolkonskaya · 11/05/2019 22:02

I agree with PP who said it’s a red flag if he’s bragging. But 35 really isn’t a massive amount in my opinion. I’ve lost count but am not a red flag.

Loka123 · 11/05/2019 22:09

Thanks everyone so far - I know gender shouldn't matter, but would great if anyone knows of any men who have slept with 35 or more women and gone on to have a monogamous, long-term marriage/relationship.

To the ones asking, he definitely didn't brag about it, it was me who awkwardly asked him out of curiosity - he was quite reluctant to answer and I said we could leave it and pretend I hadn't asked but he then he answered. I was glad he's at least honest despite him seeming ashamed his number was seemingly high.

My husband has probably slept with 3 times as many women as that-he had a varied youth Grin.
Happily and monogamously (it there is such a word) married for 11 years.
