My kitchen is clean and tidy, bedrooms all done, spare room a tip, lounge room not too bad, bathroom needs a good scrub which I will do soon.

How about yours?

Kitchen ☑️
Playroom ❌
Dining room/tv room semi-☑️
Living room ☑️ But in the middle of declutter. But it’s clean at least
Bedrooms ❌❌❌
Office ☑️
Bathroom so-so
Landing and hall meh

Trying really hard to keep the kitchen and living room in an OK state, it’s all I can manage, it’s like spinning plates!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 12:47

Oh its not great

Living room looks like toys r us threw up everywhere

Random crap on floor in hall

Rubbish waiting to go out in utility

Pots to be washed in kitchen, work tops cluttered, dd craft stuff covering table

All floors need sweeping and mopping

Dont get me started on upstairs

Maybe83 · 05/05/2019 12:49

An absolute tip.

Mental week and not much time for either of us to keep on top of much.

Plan of action for today is to return to some sort of normality and have a relaxing day tomorrow.

DeadBod · 05/05/2019 12:52

I'm home alone at the moment so I've spent about 20 minutes trotting up and down the stairs depositing stuff in bedrooms. All kitchen surfaces are clear and wiped down. Looks nice and tidy.
I'm going to do a full house Hoover and a quick wipe of the bathrooms next - not a deep clean but a quick lick and polish.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/05/2019 12:54

I should do that deadbod

4dc here and the amount of stuff spread around the house is unreal

But i am currently lay on sofa with 2 year old (in my defense i am 22 weeks pregnant with dc5 and have spd)

haverhill · 05/05/2019 12:56

Kitchen ok, lounge ok, bedrooms bad, bathrooms needs a clean. But I’ve just baked a cake so feel lay domestic goddess.

RagingWhoreBag · 05/05/2019 12:56

Kitchen is a mess - dishwasher was full last night so all the pots from dinner and the previous nights dinner are on the side. Nobody wiped the table after dinner so some splashes of food on there too Angry

Living room, pillow need a plump and throws need folding and it would look a lot better, but there’s a few letters on the side that need binning/filing, some empty Amazon boxes/bubble wrap, a roll of gift wrap from a birthday mid April DP’d cycl helmet and rucksack from when he biked over here 2+ weeks ago and got a lift home. Cleaner came Weds last week and comes fortnightly so it will get worse before it gets better! But it’s the sabbath and I’m MNing so I don’t give a fuck.

Destroyed. Over run by wild buffalo. All hope is lost. Husband is an allergic to housework twonk. Send help 😭 kids are camouflaged into muck with more muck...

happypotamus · 05/05/2019 12:58

An absolute tip. It was reasonably tidy (downstairs at least) on Thursday. I went away on Friday and got back very late last night. There's a mountain of washing up, no clear surfaces in the kitchen, toys everywhere, clean clothes to be put away. I can't even think about upstairs.

EspressoPatronum · 05/05/2019 12:59

Shite.

Like, it's not a hazard zone or anything but...

pookoo · 05/05/2019 13:01

Dealing with a sickness bug, so piles of sicky sheets and clothes, piles of cleaned sicky sheets and clothes. Just don't even look at the bathroom.

Chilledout11 · 05/05/2019 13:04

A rare occurance but it is immaculate

All clothes washed iron (small pil e of washing but quarter load - will do once dh are in pjs tonight). Dcs clothes organised and stuff too small in charity bag.

Beds stripped washed- also pillows

Freezer and oven thoroughly cleaned yesterday

Bathrooms and hall all washed

Toys decluttered and few bags in boot for charity. Feel on top of it all.

Chilledout11 · 05/05/2019 13:05

Dc not dh Blush

Silversun83 · 05/05/2019 13:05

This thread makes me feel so much better! Particularly the don't want to even think about upstairs Grin

In my defence, we have two under three and all week I've been doing job applications. I have an interview on Tuesday and the smallest DC was up from around 10.30-3.30 last night Hmm

Aquamarine1029 · 05/05/2019 13:05

I guess I'll be "that arsehole." My house is very clean and tidy. Not because I'm a superhero or anything, it's just that a messy house impacts my state of mind very strongly. I think it does for everyone, even if they don't realize it. I will say my house is NOT immaculate with every inch disinfected, because that's just silly, but it is clean and tidy.

CaMePlaitPas · 05/05/2019 13:06

A mess.

Just a mess.

notacooldad · 05/05/2019 13:07

Dp is on a mad baking session so I'm avoiding the kitchen.
I've just come home from work. I left the house at 11.00 am yesterday morning and amazingly it's no worse than when I left!!

Orangepear · 05/05/2019 13:10

It's a tip, plus I'm not dressed yet and neither are the DC.

It's allowed to be that way. This is meant to be a light hearted thread. No right or wrong.

Kitchen average.
Lounge room full of air dryers and clothes and baskets of clothes that need folding.
Study has paper lying around.
Family room is a mess and has dogs toys and sleeping dogs spread out everywhere.
My bedroom is a mess because I concentrate on trying to keep the rest of the house clean!
Bathrooms are clean.

My mum's house growing up was always immaculate and still is. Don't know how.

DarlingNikita · 05/05/2019 13:16

Not that messy, but generally needs cleaning –cleaner is coming tomorrow though.

On the bigger scale, it desperately needs new carpets/window frames/damp sorting/decorating/cupboard doors rehung...

Nnnnnineteen · 05/05/2019 13:18

Bloody awful but am trying very hard to get through a long list before work on Tuesday.
