My kitchen is clean and tidy, bedrooms all done, spare room a tip, lounge room not too bad, bathroom needs a good scrub which I will do soon.

How about yours?

Living room - not too bad, so long as you ignore the big fish tank that I need to empty and giant cardboard box dd2 has turned into a time machine. Oh and the HUGE bag of things for this term at Rainbows/Guides.

Kitchen - roast dinner pots to wash up (in a minute), floor to sweep, recycling to go out.

All downstairs could do with a sweep and mop really.

Both bathrooms are clean. Dd1's bedroom is always tidy but always seems to always need a duster flicked round Hmm.

Dd2's will be a shit tip but she'll tidy it either tonight or tomorrow afternoon depending what's out up there.

My room...erm...yeah. It's clean, but a bit of a shit tip. I've only just got a new wardrobe so am trying to work out what should go back & what should go to charity/what's not good enough to charity shop.

Natsku · 05/05/2019 18:53

I haven't mopped in weeks but apart from that it's not too bad, toys spread around the lounge and playroom but not loads of them (I only keep a few toys out at a time to minimise the chaos). Dishes are done and kitchen is clean (mostly clean), bedrooms are tidy, toilets are clean but there's some clutter in the bathroom and the shower room. Basement needs tidying, sauna needs scrubbing, boiler room needs deep cleaning tbh but I'm not doing that.

weegiemum · 05/05/2019 18:56

Kitchen/diner ok (it's always ok as it's still my pride and joy since we did it up and extended last autumn) but Sunday roast currently being cooked, washing machine and dishwasher on.

Lounge, tidy but for the pile of laundry needing sorted.

Bathroom/shower en-suite/downstairs loo all cleaned on Friday so not bad.

Our room - could do with a tidy but ok.

Teenage bedrooms - hahahaha no don't go there. Beds are changed and recycling/dishes have been retrieved but nope, not my problem if they want to live in a tip.

Cleaner was here on Friday so all floors/hoovering/dusting/mopping done and as it's been dry there's no mud from the (non-shedding) dog.

MadisonAvenue · 05/05/2019 18:59

It's mostly clean and tidy but our adult son and his girlfriend are watching TV in the snug and it looks like we've been burgled, and their mess has spread through into the kitchen where they've left bags, coats and several pairs of shoes each. They've also managed to use most of the mugs from the cupboard (and there are a lot!) so the dishwasher is rammed.

I hate mess so it's making me really twitchy. I spent last weekend overhauling the spare room with a new bed, soft furnishings etc and I could weep at the state it's in now. There's only her who's been using it too as they prefer to sleep in different rooms.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 05/05/2019 18:59

Clean and tidy but it is 99% of the time unless we are ill. I think a clean and tidy house helps me relax and I'm never stressed about uninvited guests showing up. If kept on top of, it doesn't take long as all each day.

An absolute state

What's the current state of your house right now?
Derpess · 05/05/2019 19:05

And I'm supposed to be having a miracle once the kids go to bed, but I think it's more likely I'll be drinking wine to steady
My nerves for the line of duty finale 🙈

Mssngvwls · 05/05/2019 19:07

A shit tip. It always is. I'd love it to be tidier and I feel like I spend a huge proportion of my life tidying it, but it never gets there. 2 small DC and the messiest husband in Christendom are to blame.

We do have a grown-ups-only sitting room which is usually very tidy, but even in there my husband has started making a mess so he may need banned along with the kids.

Blackandpurple · 05/05/2019 19:18

All tidy. I dont do untidy/dirty house. Its my biggest expense so i like to keep it ship shape.

nannyplummyarse · 05/05/2019 19:41

@Derpess that pic made me laugh 😂 my 2 year old got hold of a pen this week and decided to doodle on the living room wall 😩 bit like the second pic!

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 05/05/2019 19:55

Well, my kitchen floor is now spotless due to youngest throwing a huge glass jar of nutella on the floor. Thought I might as well clean it properly- and the toilet and bathroom are clean and smell beautiful due to same child making a potion of ck1 and johnsons bedtime bath and talc and smearing it everywhere- whilst I was cleaning kitchen floor- so I had to clean them too. See, I totally shifted my bum and did stuff today 😁

Derpess · 05/05/2019 19:58

@nannyplummyarse my twins are 5 and still keep getting hold of pens, despite my best efforts 🙈😂

Emmabryant123 · 05/05/2019 20:03

Not to bad actually except for all the piles of clean clothes that need folding and putting away

Pebbles16 · 05/05/2019 20:18

Mild disaster and grime. It's not making me happy.

SmarmyMrMime · 05/05/2019 20:42

I have a toilet in the hall. It is not a new toilet. Give it a few days, and hopefully the toilet will be back in its rightful place, with the legacy of toilet training training two boys consigned to the past. MDF skirting board just wasn't up to the job.

Otherwise the house is clearly lived in. By two children. I never was a minimalist anyway.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 05/05/2019 21:24

3 storey house.

All floors clean and tidy as I’ve spent the weekend doing it.
I do like to keep on top of it-but I’m not perfect so have occasionally had the times where if you turned up at my doorstep I’d have to send you away because it would be that shameful 😂

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2019 21:32

My kitchen is now clean and tidy and all dry washing is put away.

Still haven't hoovered, mopped and cleaned the bathroom! That can wait a day or two.Grin

Japonicaflower2 · 05/05/2019 21:53

Mine's clean and tidy because DH is away yippee! if only 'twas always like this 😀

Theoldwoman · 06/05/2019 00:21

I'm going to get stuck in today and get stuff done!

Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

Looks like a florist shop
DM 90th birthday this weekend but she seems to have been celebrating for a week.
She has received so many cards, flowers, and bottles of wine I don't think we have an empty surface - and there is more celebrating today!

CherryPavlova · 06/05/2019 07:49

Pristine, unusually. Just back from holiday and we had the place decorated and deep cleaned whilst we were away.

Ronsters · 06/05/2019 08:21

Clean. Apart from the cat went crazy in the night and has had a real go at his scratching pad. It's one of the corrugated cardboard ones and he's scratched/bitten chunks off and scattered it everywhere.
I'm also tackling the spare room/dumping ground today as that's a mess.

dudsville · 06/05/2019 08:28

Mine is essentially like the pre-child photo above. I cleaned last weekend, vacuum often (multiple hairy creatures live here) and keep the kitchen cleared daily, so it's fine.

Dontcomeinmygarden · 06/05/2019 08:28

Bathroom is fine
Laundry room needs laundry sorting but not untidy
Living room tidy
Dining room pretty ok
Kitchen needs dishwasher emptied, washing up done, cupboards wiped
Ds very sweetly made his own bed this morning ‘as you’re ill’ (I have a cough) Smile
Dh is lounging in bed but all that needs doing in our room is the bed made.

KingscoteStaff · 06/05/2019 09:18

There are 2 jobs in our house on a Saturday, which DH and I alternate.

Job 1: get up at 8.30 to drive DS to sport training. Then take DD to sport training. Do big Sainsbury’s shop. Pick up DD and take her to volunteering thing. Pop in to my mum’s and have lunch/chat/water her garden/sort out whatever phone or computer problems she has. Drive to pick up DS and watch end of his sport. Drive to pick up DD. Drive home and unpack Sainsbury’s.

Job 2: clean house.

What’s interesting is whichever job I’m doing, I’m certain that the other one is a cushier deal.

Anyway, either way the house always looks lovely til at least Sunday eve.
