My kitchen is clean and tidy, bedrooms all done, spare room a tip, lounge room not too bad, bathroom needs a good scrub which I will do soon.

How about yours?

I live alone and am just recovering from norovirus, so you can guess what the house is currently like!
I’ve made a big batch of vegetable soup to replace my fluids and potassium, so the cooker is soup splattered. I didn’t manage to empty the cat’s litter tray for two days, or stack the dishwasher, so the worktop is piled with six dirty cat bowls and the saucepans from the day before I was ill.
I’m behind with the washing and packing for my holiday, and have no energy to face hoovering or dusting.
Apart from that, it’s lovely... hem hem.

If you ignore the garage everything is looking pretty damn good. I bought a new steam mop on Friday so had great fun doing the floors today (all tiles apart from bedrooms).

We’re getting a heap of flatpack delivered this week for the lounge (storage/tv/DVD unit) so need the space to store it till we can put it together on Friday.

Maybe one day I’ll get round to the garage but I doubt it’ll be this year.

And I just never seem to get on top of it all
Need to knit another me to help out
Sick of living in a tip

drspouse · 05/05/2019 14:00

1 step away from complete tip. We are having our windows replaced and the window man has left his stuff in all the rooms and the rest of the stuff is crammed in anywhere.

Minniemousejammies · 05/05/2019 14:03

An absolute shit hole

An absolute shit hole

Pretty much 😂

Thatsalovelycuppatea · 05/05/2019 14:15

Upstairs bedrooms are a shit hole. Kitchen and bathroom have been cleaned. Still got more to do. Brew

kaytee87 · 05/05/2019 14:18

Play room - some toys sitting out
Study - tidy
Living room - tidy
Nursery - tidy
Master bedroom - tidy
Dining room - tidy
Bathroom - tidy
Kitchen - tidy
Utility - some recycling to go out
Spare room 1 - tidy
Spare room 2 - boxes of stuff to go in loft

kaytee87 · 05/05/2019 14:18

Shower room - tidy

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2019 14:31

Kitchen- I need to wash up, put dry crockery and cutlery away and wipe the cooker and surfaces.

Laundry- I need to take a load out when the washer stops and I need to fold away a load from the dryer.

Sitting room- immaculate.

Bedrooms- tidy. Both doubles were stripped and changed yesterday.

Bathroom- ok. The loo and sick could do with a swish and swipe.

Floors- all need vacuuming and the vinyl needs mopping.

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2019 14:32

sink*

shitpark · 05/05/2019 14:36

Mine is a tip. I've been sorting out laundry for two hours after fixing the washer but it's never ending. Lounge is reasonable, my bedroom has laundry all over every surface, kids rooms are reasonable, dining room/playroom is a haven to arts and crafts. Kitchen is clean, bathrooms are not.

nannyplummyarse · 05/05/2019 14:41

Ahhh all finished. Dh will be home with the kids any minute now and all of what I've achieved will be undone 🙈 rewarding myself with this while myself and dog put our feet up 😁

What's the current state of your house right now?
slipperywhensparticus · 05/05/2019 14:42

A state and I'm horrified

GinTimeAtHome · 05/05/2019 14:44

Almost show home standard Grin we had a viewing yesterday and the kids were packed off to visit relatives so it’s still blissfully lovely!

Normally it looks like a bomb has hit it Grin

SpeckofStardust · 05/05/2019 14:48

Since we’re both fairly tidy and orderly types, it never gets too bad. Its just after 6.45 am here (USA) and it’s looking pretty good because I did my usual weekly thorough cleaning and clearing of laundry. Right now the living room is clutter, dust and cat-hair free, kitchen very tidy and the only things in laundry basket are what we wore yesterday.

I just need to do a quick 15 minutes - scoop cat litter boxes, wash up breakfast things and cat bowls, take out trash, wipe breakfast crumbs off kitchen surfaces and sweep floor. DH is still asleep so he’ll make the bed when he gets up and whoever’s last in the bathroom will wipe down sink and shower.

Catlady173 · 05/05/2019 14:49

Clean and tidy throughout, but don't look behind those closet doors, been " going to sort them all out" forever lol

Catlady173 · 05/05/2019 14:52

Btw, agree that it affects my mental state if it is cluttered and untidy, everything has a place so just put it where it belongs when you are done with it. DH drives me insane , just lays everything done on nearest surface.

happymummy12345 · 05/05/2019 14:52

Ours is always generally tidy. I clean the whole house top to bottom every week, and I make sure things are back in their usual place.
Ds is playing in the living room, will obviously tidy his toys when he goes to bed. Apart from that it's clean and tidy.

Annasgirl · 05/05/2019 14:53

Mine was really good as I had visitors yesterday and the day before so I had a big clean and tidy on Friday and yesterday.

Today it is like a bomb site as I am studying and DH is in charge - but he has cooked delicious lunch so I'll ignore the mess.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/05/2019 14:55

The porch is a damn mess but is a much bigger bit of work than a quick tidy.
Living room just has toys out so not bad.
The kitchen is a bomb site, truly awful.
Bathroom is lovely (go me).
DS's bedroom is fine.
Our bedroom just has clothes on the floor.
All in all, for us, that's not bad. I've been making a proper effort this week to keep it nice as our house is teeny so I'm quite pleased Smile

Chipsahoy · 05/05/2019 14:56

Upstairs needs hoovering, and en suite is currently being decorated, so a mess. Otherwise everywhere is pretty clean. Blitzed this morning after ds3 birthday party yesterday.

madeyemoodysmum · 05/05/2019 14:59

Pretty ok overall but ironing creeping up and will need a clean on Tuesday. No point till everyone else back at school work.
