My kitchen is clean and tidy, bedrooms all done, spare room a tip, lounge room not too bad, bathroom needs a good scrub which I will do soon.

How about yours?

Everywhere is a bit of a mess... We have spent the majority of the time lately doing the garden. Completely stripping it back, so everywhere else is a feeling a bit neglected. Hopefully once the grass is done next week we can get the house back to normal!

Complete, unmitigated disaster. We just moved into a house that needs a pretty major refurb. Got it professionally cleaned but still underlying grub and shabbiness (like motheaten carpets). And now needs cleaning again anyway. Wardrobes wouldn’t fit up the stairs so living out of moving bags until Ikea can solve the problem. The living room is sort of sorted but the aesthetic there is explosion at Santa’s workshop with a telly perched on top. The kitchen is an array of empty takeaway containers and everywhere else is 2 fingers up to the health and safety brigade...

Mines not too bad.
After tea last night OH and son when out so I did all the ironing and cleaned the whole of downstairs.
I got up at 6am this morning and cleaned all upstairs except our bedroom and my sons.
So just two bedrroms to do later and hoover all upstairs.....and then try and keep the place clean for a couple of days

It’s a mixed bag here..
kitchen ✔️
Dinning room and sitting room✔️
Hall ✔️
Playroom - so so
Kids rooms - so so
Our room ❌❌
Spare room ❌❌❌❌❌
Kids en-suites ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Our bathroom - so so
Main bathroom - so so
Laundry - everything washed, lying hidden in the mountains waiting to be ironed

The garden on the other hand looks amazing as that’s where I have been all weekend

Going to blitz our room now and will instantly feel less guilty when that’s sorted.

Shit tip. I don't even have kids to blame it on. I'm just lazy.

limesoda · 06/05/2019 11:05

Fundamentally clean and tidy, with the clutter that two humans and a dog bring. Probably 8 out of 10, which is fine by me.

notacooldad · 06/05/2019 11:19

Dp is cleaning the kitchen
I'm about to start on the bedrooms and Ds 2 is cleaning the windows so it should look better soon!

Armageddon. Have a bug going through the children. Dc3(6) had it Wednesday night until Sat, Dc5(1.5) started with it Saturday, DC2(7) is looking like the possible next victim. Thankfully it’s not a sickness bug, just a very high temp & general roughness. It does mean we’ve not left the house/garden this weekend which is the reason for the state. I’ll firefight today & properly tackle tomorrow, when they’re all (hopefully) back at school. Assuming dc2 perks up & dc4 or 1 don’t get it.

Mostly clean but a mess

WhatNowRandy · 06/05/2019 11:53

It's not in a state to receive visitors!

  • Bathroom is clean-ish, though shower and floor could do with a wipe.
  • Bedroom has a laundry project in process, no sheets on etc.
  • Spareroom is clean, apart from papers spread on the bed for sorting.
  • Upstairs carpet really needs a vacuum, which will happen soon.
  • Kitchen floor has boot prints and soil on it, as I've just done gardening and replanting. I'll have to wipe it after vacuuming.
  • Kitchen counters, sink and cooker are fine, but I'd clean them if anyone was coming around.
  • Living room is untidy. Papers and random clutter on all the surfaces. Desk and bookcases obviously undusted.
  • All the windows are clean on the outside (because the window cleaners have been this week), but need a clean on the inside.

Now I feel like a fecking slattern. Oh well.

Theoldwoman · 06/05/2019 13:22

Mine is not great now, too much in and out of the car today.

Oh well, nearly bedtime here.

Tomorrow is another day!

Spotless as the children have been staying with their father all weekend. This time next week I'm sure it will be the opposite 😂
