Where did your screen name come from?

Just curious how people choose their names and if they have any meaning. I'm a regular name changer (although I never announce the name change, feels like it defeats the purpose somewhat!) and have been on mumsnet for a couple of years.

My current one is a line from Judge Judy, I thought it was time for a change and that was the next thing i heard on the telly. I realised that it might seem like my DPs left me afterwards but that got me thinking, where do others get their names from. Anyone care to share?

I was idling on the net and was inspired by the low carb thread to sign up. My desired weight was a longwayoff. And it still is but that's due to my irresistible fondness for, cake. Sigh.

Mine is from an annoying joke played on MN.

I had always been just Bob on t'internet Back in the Day.

Bob was taken, so I added the Silent. In a weird, coincidental twist of fate, my partner now (for the last 5 years/ I joined MN about 10 years before I met him) is called Jay.

I have never seen a Jay and SilentBob movie in my life.

Line of duty, only recently changed, had my previous one for a few years, and that was kinda my nickname
