Where did your screen name come from?

Just curious how people choose their names and if they have any meaning. I'm a regular name changer (although I never announce the name change, feels like it defeats the purpose somewhat!) and have been on mumsnet for a couple of years.

My current one is a line from Judge Judy, I thought it was time for a change and that was the next thing i heard on the telly. I realised that it might seem like my DPs left me afterwards but that got me thinking, where do others get their names from. Anyone care to share?

Loyaultemelie it's the gift that keeps giving. I consider myself lucky that I didn't try the Dark Tower books until he'd started writing them after the accident so as I finished the early set the second wave were ready for me to read. I only really had to wait for the final installment.

I misread a hairdressers sign a few weeks ago. I read Urban Image as Urban Mage. It made me laugh. Like a city based wizard.

I took a DNA test, it completely changed my life to find out who I was.
This is my newish life so un is apt.

My glasses have blue frames. Quite dull really.

My mum used to call me this as a kid, usually when l was being a little cheeky! I think it started when l used to protest about having to go to bed.

I just did an ancestry test, it didn't say romany, it was the areas that showed up that determined it.
If you have a small amount of east Asian, or a lot of European mixes, or even a mix of Eng, Wales, Scotland. etc.
The best way is to link your dna to get matches.

There is also a dna romany project but you need the right family members to test, and I didn't have that.

Mine is a character from the books Caliban's War, Abaddon's Gate and Cibola Burn.
My favourite character was in the first book of that series but died, then the alien molecule the books is centred around creates The Investigator using that character as a blueprint for it. It's very good!
