I'm taking food.

For example, I'm yet to find a decent alternative to Quavers. Supermarket brands are crap!

Ditto Marmite

Ketchup - I put Sainsbury’s ketchup on my egg on toast once and had to throw the whole thing away :( was a sad day

Redskyandrainbows67 · 29/04/2019 21:35

Ketchup and beans!

WokenUp · 29/04/2019 21:36

Coke
Heinz baked beans

MyKingdomForBrie · 29/04/2019 21:37

Coke, ketchup, beans.

Justmuddlingalong · 29/04/2019 21:37

Lurpak. God knows I've tried, but Lurpak is unsubsitutable.

Aimily · 29/04/2019 21:39

Heinz ketchup and beans
Hellmans mayonnaise
Tesco red label tea (no other teabags taste the same)

Heyha · 29/04/2019 21:39

Have you tried Morrisons' 'lurpak'? That's pretty good. The Aldi one is too- I'm talking salted spreadable if it makes a difference 🙂

Justmuddlingalong · 29/04/2019 21:39

*Unsubstitutable

Leyani · 29/04/2019 21:41

Agree with Tesco red label, currently got some Morrison’s tea that doesn’t taste of anything

Justmuddlingalong · 29/04/2019 21:41

I've tried all the major supermarkets, discount supermarkets and local shops. I have given up looking for a Lurpak substitute. I just stock up and throw a few in the freezer whenever they're on offer.

cricketmum84 · 29/04/2019 21:42

Lidl's Danpak is just as good as lurpak.

Mine is marmite, nothing own brand ever tastes like proper marmite.

I like supermarket beans Smile

DameSquashalot · 29/04/2019 21:43

Agree with Heinz beans. Also HP sauce - including the posh sauces. Kellogg's cereals, Coca Cola...

Justmuddlingalong · 29/04/2019 21:44

Had high hopes for Lidl's Danpak. Nope.

HollowTalk · 29/04/2019 21:44

Lurpak. God knows I've tried, but Lurpak is unsubsitutable.

It's more expensive, but have you had President butter, from France?

MyDcAreMarvel · 29/04/2019 21:46

Waitrose essential beans are far superior to Heinz. Thick rich sauce not watery.

Magmatic80 · 29/04/2019 21:46

Ketchup. Even Heinz low salt/sugar is rank. #sorrygregg

Justmuddlingalong · 29/04/2019 21:47

Never tried President. I hyperventilate at Lurpak prices as it is. 😱

KenAdamsRealWife · 29/04/2019 21:47

President butter is cheaper than lurpak in the local Waitrose
agree though, I’ve tried Lidl and Aldi versions and they aren’t as good, they are ok but not as good.

keepingbees · 29/04/2019 21:48

Op Aldi's cheese curls are pretty good Quavers substitutes. Not exactly the same but better than other own brands.

Fefifoefum · 29/04/2019 21:48

Diet Coke

maloofhoof · 29/04/2019 21:48

Lurpak
Hellmans mayonnaise
Cocoa cola
Paxo stuffing
Heinz soup
Any supermarket version of chocolate biscuits such as kitkat, twix
Ditto any supermarket copy of walkers crisps

Geraniumpink · 29/04/2019 21:49

Yorkshire tea. Although willing to try any suggested substitutes. Felix cat food.

00100001 · 29/04/2019 21:51

keepingbees oh...no...they’re what promoted me to make this thread. 😰 Now have to fob them off on other people

BlueSkiesLies · 29/04/2019 21:55

Marmite
Ketchup (Heinz)
Beans (Heinz)
Agree with PP re supermarket versions of kitkats etc. Just no.
