Glad we're talking about beaches! I'm about to rent a cottage at Taliesin which is half way between Aberystwyth and Mahynlleth. Is there a good dog beach with lots of space, parking and easy access?

South of France Grin

Can't believe no one has mentioned Poppit Sands! The northern part of the Pembrokeshire coast has some wonderful beaches, which are often quieter than the better known places further down the coast

thighofrelief101 Fairbourne is close to there and precisely what you describe!

Mesmeri · 16/04/2019 08:15

Probably others too...

Pembrokeshire, Barafundle bay.

We thought the beaches in Norfolk were lovely, Wales knocks them all into a cocked hat!

Celeriacacaca · 16/04/2019 11:43

Caswell Bay nest Swansea in Wales.

Celeriacacaca · 16/04/2019 11:44

Near not best!

Joss Bay.

Louisa Bay at Broadstairs- a town beach with sand and fab rockpooling and a cafe and it’s never busy.

HappyHolidays75 · 16/04/2019 11:52

Gower - just got back from a week there. Stunning beaches. Rhossili Bay, Oxwich Bay, random ones accessed by foot. Rock pools, cafes, surfing and other water sports. Will go back one summer when it's warm enough.

HappyHolidays75 · 16/04/2019 11:54

Northumbria too. Outer Hebrides. Suffolk, Norfolk.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 16/04/2019 11:57

Mesmeri thank you 😊

Croyde Bay
Three Cliffs Bay
Branscombe...pebbles
Blackpool Sands

BestIsWest · 16/04/2019 16:17

Although Three Cliffs is beautiful, I’d be wary of swimming there. Ditto Llanmadoc/Whiteford burrows. Don’t swim there when the tide is on its way out unless you know what you are doing.

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/04/2019 16:33

I got caught in A bad rip at 3 cliffs years ago. Honestly thought for a few minutes I wasn't going to make it back.

BestIsWest · 16/04/2019 19:08

My mum, who grew up in North Gower, always said ‘’Only swim when the tide is in’ about the North side beaches.
