Holkham is my closest favourite. Croyde, I haven’t been back to in a long time but I remember it as stunning. Studland bay was the beach of my childhood with beautiful shallow water. Plemont in Jersey is the landscape of my dreams; gorgeous beach, caves, a waterfall. So many stunning beaches in the uk...

Stravapalava · 15/04/2019 20:18

Harlech
St Abbs

Gingerkittykat · 15/04/2019 20:22

The far North of Scotland is utterly beautiful with golen sandy beach, crystal clear water and almost no people. One of my favourites is Durness.

I like: Filey, has some amusements etc but is not overly commercialised.

Seaham, for the sea glass.

Saltburn

Three Cliffs when the tide is high, or the far end of Oxwich away from everyone else. Port Eynon for fish and chips.

Broadhaven further west

Nanjizal in Cornwall - it’s a bit of a trek but it is well worth the walk from Lands End, the sea cave is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. Portheras Cove is also beautiful.

Muddywellies10 · 15/04/2019 21:02

Great to see so many Pembrokeshire beaches. West is best! As well as those mentioned already Freshwater West is very beautiful.

Carbis Bay in Cornwall, although it is getting a bit more developed now which is a shame.

Thurlestone Sands in South Devon
Porthtowan Cornwall
Bamburgh beach Northumberland
Calgary Bay Isle of Mull

Tinyteatime · 15/04/2019 21:10

Ha I came in to say any on the gower or Pembrokeshire coast but I see they’ve been mentioned many times already.

Whisky2014 · 15/04/2019 21:12

Lunan bay, north east scotland

NoseringGirl · 15/04/2019 21:12

Long sands and King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth. I've also got a soft spot for Cullercoats Bay.

80sMum · 15/04/2019 21:16

Scotland has some stunningly beautiful beaches, but what makes them so beautiful imo is the lack of people, caused possibly by the fact that there are no facilities, no loos, no café, no lifeguards and an abundance of rain!

OrangeSamphire · 15/04/2019 21:17

If you want rock pools and surfing on a large beautiful beach then you can’t beat:

Gwithian, near Hayle, Cornwall

Whitsand Bay, between Torpoint and Looe, Cornwall (walk down at Freathy by the Clifftop Cafe, or at Tregantle if it’s not a range firing day).

If you want beaches you can park on with flat access, plus surfing and rock pools, you might prefer Mawgan Porth or Polzeath. Busier though. Avoid in August.

Bantham in Devon
Sennen in Cornwall
All the Scillies and lots of Scotland and Northumberland!

Livvylovesgin · 15/04/2019 21:22

Bamburgh, Outer Hebrides and Scilly, especially the smaller islands, St Martins, St Agnes.

Brancaster, Norfolk
Church Cove, Gunwalloe, Cornwall.

Lyme Regis Beach was gorgeous last summer.

BubblegumFactory · 15/04/2019 21:41

These photos are gorgeous!
Only visited a handful of those mentioned but liked Studland in Dorset very much.
Our favourite hasn’t been mentioned yet and we love it. Huge expanse of sandy beach so never feels too busy, some dunes to play in, backdrop of the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia, woodland behind with rope swings, low tide walk over to the island and walk round the paths leading to the lighthouse - all at Newborough on Anglesey.

Sandwood Bay, Sutherland. You can watch the whales jumping, but it's a long way up and a long walk out!
