Facially I think I look slightly younger although aware people say they aged suddenly
Have noticed an improvement with higher end skincare

Younger. Much younger. That's not bragging.

However that is with make up studiously and artfully applied.

Without it I look like the Keeper of the Crypt.

BackforGood · 12/03/2019 23:42

i suspect if people were asked to guess my age they'd get it about right.

Why do you ask ?

TightPants · 12/03/2019 23:42

I always looked younger than my age, but had DS at 44, and now I’ve turned 50 and I’ve aged overnight!
People used to be shocked when I told them my age, they just nod now Confused

Being 3 stone overweight doesn’t help either. Hmm

Palominoo · 12/03/2019 23:45

I always tell people that I'm five years older than what I am so that I can only get compliments and not pitiful looks or offefing me their chair to sit down. Grin

Singlenotsingle · 12/03/2019 23:47

I'm usually taken for younger. The doc said "well preserved". Hmm...pickled walnuts are well preserved! Confused

bitheby · 12/03/2019 23:49

Younger. Always have. Hope it continues!

Zoflorabore · 12/03/2019 23:50

Hmm a few years ago I would have said much younger but since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and having chronic insomnia I look about 90. I'm 41.

I do have a fringe and always have, hides a multitude of sins :)

Easyguess · 12/03/2019 23:58

I’ve always looked at least 10 years younger without even trying. That’s based on what everyone says when they find out my age for the last 20 years or so (saying I look like my daughter’s sister, no way I could have a child that age)
I also agreed, until recently!
The last few months have been horrendous for my family. Bad news upon bad news and, despite trying to paste on a smile and enjoy life, it’s taken it’s toll. I’m gaining weight, haven’t had time for a haircut, I’m drinking too much and have almost no ‘me time’ I’ll soon look my age or beyond at this rate Sad

Adversecamber22 · 13/03/2019 02:32

I look a lot younger, I am blessed by a very diverse gene pool as mixed race.

DinosApple · 13/03/2019 03:59

I hit the stage where a decent haircut makes me look younger, rather than more grown up a few years ago.

My looks aren't youthful, or aging, but I do have a face that's been here before. I'm good with that though.

Gersin · 13/03/2019 06:34

Younger. It’s geat now (as I knew it would be) but was a massive pain when I was working.
Genes help, I also help things along by looking after myself.

Babyfoal · 13/03/2019 06:36

Exactly my age.

Bloodybridget · 13/03/2019 06:40

Probably older, given I know several women my age or more who look fabulous - I suspect they put more effort into it than I could be bothered with! I did think recently that perhaps I'd try investing more in skincare; I looked around vaguely in a couple of pharmacies, felt overheated and baffled and gave up.

TakenForSlanted · 13/03/2019 06:44

I was recently estimated to be 42 by a stranger (it had been a harrowing few weeks, I'm sure he was being polite and I looked about 50). OTOH, my boss believes himself to be 15 to 20 years older than me. I happen to know his exact age. He's a mere 11 years older than me.

So, on balance, I guess I look about my age on normal days.

TipseyTorvey · 13/03/2019 06:49

I used to always look much younger but hit mid 40s and everything suddenly sagged a bit. Like a pp I've also had a stressful few months so have put on weight, drunk too much wine and stopped exercising and it really shows and unlike when I was 30 I don't think a week of clean living will fix it any longer alas!

Veterinari · 13/03/2019 06:50

I used to look younger but use to family and work stress my age has really caught up with me over the last couple of years. I’ve had one round of Botox and invested in some decent cheap skincare (retinol, acids, vit C)and can definitely see the difference. My skin is better than it’s been for years Smile

Cuch · 13/03/2019 06:50

My face looks a lot younger. I’ve been lucky with my skin (well, I don’t smoke and have always stayed out of the sun so not sure how much is luck and how much is down to that). I am starting to notice fine lines creeping in and a bit of a change of ‘something’ recently - I think it’s more skin tone than texture - without make up there are lots of blotchy freckly bits where it used to be all one colour.

However, when I gain weight I think it ages me and I start to look my age. I know if I go over a certain weight I start to get a touch of the Kirsty Alsopps (no unkindness meant there - she’s an attractive woman and I like her body type, but she’s always someone I think of who somehow presents as a bit older than she is. Maybe it’s the way she dresses her figure?)

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 13/03/2019 06:51

I think I look my age but a good version of my age. Most people believe me when I tell them how old I am a few say a few years younger.
I have good genes though my mum is very good looking for her age as is my sister so I’m optimistic for the future.

NicoAndTheNiners · 13/03/2019 06:53

A lot younger. Its genes, my mum looks 20 years younger than she is.

Took my 17yo to see the nurse the other week and the nurse thought I was her sister and didn't believe me when I said I was her mum!

Luglio · 13/03/2019 08:00

I look my age. But I'm at an age (mid 50s) when very few people look younger than they are, no matter how hard they kid themselves.

ShatnersWig · 13/03/2019 08:04

I think I am lucky with family genes. I'm 45 and most people think I am late 30s. Just before Christmas someone thought I was 34. My dad is 66 and most people think him late-50s. No one ever believes when he says he has a son of 45.

Oddly enough we were talking about this in one of my social groups at the weekend. In the main, sweeping generalisation here, we all felt that people we knew without kids almost always look younger than they are but those with kids often look older than they are.

Pinkkahori · 13/03/2019 08:09

I used to look quite a bit younger (in a baby faced, casually dressed way iykwim) but I'm mid forties now and i think I look it.
I had a tough couple of years with the terminal illness and loss of a parent and that really took it's toll.

TickleMeEmo · 13/03/2019 08:11

Younger, I’m 28 and DHs work colleagues genuinely thought I was 17 Confused also regularly get I.D’d for buying items such as paracetamol and nasal spray. Got on the bus for a half when I was 6 months pregnant with DS1 a year and a half ago 😂 his HV then obviously hadn’t read my notes and kept going on about support groups for teenage mums even though I was 26 at the time!

I don’t wear make up and have a small build but not sure if that has anything to do with it at all!

PoshPenny · 13/03/2019 08:13

A drowned rat wearing no makeup from yesterday. I'm 54. Do I look my age?

Do you think you look your age ? Or younger or older
DuchessOfPhysics · 13/03/2019 08:16

I think ive looked after my skin and it's v even and pale for my age, but ive no illusions, people just know your age/ one's age - quite instinctively, even if you're slim and fashiinabel and beautifully dressed. And that gies a long way but they pick up ob your age too on a gut level. V intuitive.
