Facially I think I look slightly younger although aware people say they aged suddenly
Have noticed an improvement with higher end skincare

Most of the women in my family looked younger than they are
My daughter is 42 but easily passes for 30
I think age is catching up it’s me. I’m 67 and have put on s bit of weight.still got mostly brown/ blonde longish highlighted hair but quite a bit of grey coming in
My skin on my face is showing lines too but now I’m 67 and in ok health I’m actually just glad to be here

Ablemaybel · 13/03/2019 09:17

I've always looked younger than my years. Was still being offered half fare on public transport in my early twenties.
I'm fast approaching 60 and think I still look a little younger, but the wrinkles and sag are beginning to appear.
I colour my hair, and am several shades lighter than my original shade. I've never worn full face makeup, just a little blush and mascara, and always protect my face from the sun. Maybe this has helped over the years?
I don't think you need expensive lotions and potions to care for your skin. I just use a bog standard day/night cream, have never used soap on my face, and use baby wipes to remove makeup.

I thought I looked OK for my age but I've just done one off those apps, it said I looked 64. I'm 52 Blush

fussychica · 13/03/2019 09:20
  1. Body much younger, face not so much. Unfortunately the jowels ruin the youth illusionGrin
teyem · 13/03/2019 09:25

I think most of those apps are built to flatter. I'm 40 this year, I can get a twenty out of those things if I get the right light and don't frown Grin

Namechange8471 · 13/03/2019 09:30

cricketmum84 you look great!p

Tentomidnight · 13/03/2019 09:49

Younger until I hit 40, when I aged 5 years overnight. I still look ok for my age though, facially at least. From the neck down is another matter, I have turned into my mum.

teyem · 13/03/2019 09:50

Look forward to that ten 😬

AmIAWeed · 13/03/2019 10:02

I look much older!
I had my first son when I was 18 and most believe I am mid 40s.
I'm 33

coffeeagogo · 13/03/2019 10:15

Hard to say - I think I look my age but when I was having my copper coil fitted the dr said come and see me in x years and we will replace. I said I thought I could leave it in until after menopause now and she was Shock I though you were much younger - but disturbing as they clearly hadn't read my medically notes very closely Grin

happypotamus · 13/03/2019 11:08

When I ask people how old they think I am (I work somewhere with a high turnover of staff so it comes up from time to time) they always say a few years younger and look surprised when I tell them the answer, but they might just be being polite.
DH told me this week that I am not aging well and look more than 10 years older than I did 10 years ago Hmm, so I don't know.

3in4years · 13/03/2019 11:11

People always say I look too young to have kids, and I often get asked for ID. I am 36.

Cocolepew · 13/03/2019 11:18

I think I look my age, I did always get mistaken for younger before.
I have a chronic illness, and in the last few years I've definitely aged.
I'm not too wrinkly but I'm starting to sag. I'm also letting my hair go grey and going by some of the replies on going grey threads, it will apparently age my by at least 20 years HmmGrin

sugarbum · 13/03/2019 11:20

In real life, I look probably my age or older (44). That's because I'm fat and frumpy and have many chins.
In photos, i.e. selfies, I look younger and thinner. Its not deliberate camera trickery i.e. filters. Its because the angles get rid of the chins, and I don't have many wrinkles (genes, not lifestyle), so I can pass for 30's. I just looked at myself in the camera phone though. I have random white hairs on the front now, which really stand out against my dark brown hair. And whilst I don't have wrinkles, I do have loads of skin tags which don't look great. Fark. Might have to start a thread about that. And lets not start on chin hairs...
I don't wear makeup normally either. I think that may make me look younger.

BarbedBloom · 13/03/2019 11:21

Much younger but it is purely genetics, my mum is the same and so was my late grandmother. I have never smoked, don’t drink or sunbathe so that may help, but probably not that much.

tigerbear · 13/03/2019 11:23

Younger. I love and hate it in equal measure. I own my own business, and it certainly has disadvantages in a professional capacity, as I feel that people often patronise me, thinking I only have a few years experience. I’m 42, with nearly 20 years of experience.

My DP (who I think also looks younger than he is - he’s 50 next year) and I went clubbing with some friends of his who are MUCH younger than us, 22, 26, 30)- they all swanned in, having had ID checked and DP and I were stopped as we didn’t have any. Cue a long argument (and DP’s 22 year old friend nearly crying with laughter “but they could be my PARENTS for god’s sake 😂). The manager of the bouncers had to be called to check us out - who was clearly pissed of with them, as it was obv were were over 18/25!).

Do you think you look your age ? Or younger or older
MistressDeeCee · 13/03/2019 11:30

Younger. I'm 55 most people think early 40s. My parents look young too tho as do all my siblings.

DP is 63, youngish face but completely silver-haired. So people assume he's much older than me and I've had to pull people up about making stupid rude, sexist jokes on what they assume is our huge age difference. It amazes me what people will think it's ok to voice, sometimes.

PoshPenny from that pic you appear to be wrinkle free. & quite fresh faced. I'd put you at mid- 40s maybe but not 54

MirandaWest · 13/03/2019 11:35

I think I probably look my age. Am 43 and if I buy alcohol the “no need to check age” button is always quickly pressed.
Someone was surprised at my age recently and I was about 10 years younger but I think that was a one off Grin

Zoflorabore · 13/03/2019 11:36

On here goes- 1 without make up and 1 with make up. 41.
I have a chronic illness and chronic insomnia and don't sleep much.

Bluesmartiesarebest · 13/03/2019 11:36

I think I look older.

spanishwife · 13/03/2019 11:43

I think the people who have uploaded photos look MUCH older than they say (apart from v gorgeous tiger), sorry!

However, on reflection I'm comparing to my relatives who are a similar age and are very good looking and young for their age. My mother and father look late 40s/early 50s but are in their 60s. My mother's side have a beautiful face structure and very plump glowy skin naturally and my dad's side is mixed race, so lucky with genes I guess!

I'm late 30s and in gym gear or v casual I get ID'd for alcohol when I'm alone!

Rainbowbaggins · 13/03/2019 11:50

You're all delusional, except for me I look like a regular fetus and people are always shocked to hear that I've even been born yet!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 13/03/2019 11:51

Spanishwife thank you for sharing with us that you and your family are youthful and beautiful, making others look MUCH older. Kudos!

However I notice that you haven't attached a picture, as the posters you commented on have bravely done, so you could just be delusional...

spanishwife · 13/03/2019 11:54

Lol rainbow!

It does sound very braggy to say you look very young but I have never appreciated it - it's actually worked against me professionally and personally and I've tried hard to counteract it.

When I was in my mid twenties, absolutely smashing their career and sitting on a senior team, I was upset many times being asked to make someone a coffee (whilst I was meant to be leading the meeting) or being asked whose assistant I was. I was asked what I was studying at college (when I left school almost 10 years before) etc... just not taken seriously by anybody until I opened my mouth.

tigerbear · 13/03/2019 11:54

@spanishwife, thank you 😊
