I'll get the ball rolling:

People biting into apples
Tea slurpers

A child waking up at 4.30am on Christmas morning (lighthearted!)

yorkshirepud44 · 23/02/2019 16:11

Screechy show sneezers

ScreamingValenta · 23/02/2019 16:11

Whistling.

ScreamingValenta · 23/02/2019 16:12

Radio One Grin

ALongHardWinter · 23/02/2019 16:12

People tapping things, whether it's tapping a spoon on a cup,or their fingers on the table. As I write this, there is a man sitting at the next table to me in Costa's,who has been tapping his empty coffee cup on the table for the last 15 minutes and I want to kill him.

Bodicea · 23/02/2019 16:13

Lids on scratchy ( old denby style) crockery.

My 5 year old son making random “bah” noises purely to annoy me.

Dh slurping his tea. He does it more now I have pointed it out to him just to annoy me.

Xiaoxiong · 23/02/2019 16:14

Rustling bags of crisps/sweets in the theatre/cinema that just goes on and on and on and on like they're rooting about in the bottom for the very last sweet and just wont admit there are none left.

Lightnings · 23/02/2019 16:15

Eugh. My work colleague sucking his teeth after every mouthful of food is swallowed. It’s disgusting. Then he burps 🤢🤮🤮🤮

Shockers · 23/02/2019 16:15

Whistling 😗

Don’t do it!

SparklySneakers · 23/02/2019 16:16

Severe misophonia sufferer here. People eating, drinking, breathing, clearing throats, coughing, whistling, sniffing, nail tapping, foot scritching, nail picking, shoe heels on hard floors. Rustling packets, scraping of any sort, tooth brushing. Teeth are clenched and ties curled just thinking about it.

HorseDoorBolted · 23/02/2019 16:17

WIND. CHIMES. Envy

ColourMeStoked · 23/02/2019 16:17

The sound of someone brushing their teeth 😬

GreyGardens88 · 23/02/2019 16:18

Posh students swearing
Chewing loudly or with mouth open

nombrecambio · 23/02/2019 16:19

People eating.

People mouth breathing.

Snoring.

Tapping.

Whistling.

Scraping cutlery on plates.

Sniffing and throat clearing.

... I need to live in a field on my own!

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 23/02/2019 16:20

Few of the above, plus : chomping/snapping chewing gum.

fruityb · 23/02/2019 16:28

Scrapers in general - my friend used to scrape the food out of her polystyrene food tray at lunch and it made me cringe.

People who breathe heavily while eating - as if it’s a massive struggle to chew and breathe at once. I used to have to leave the room when my dad ate cornflakes.

My husbands need to tap everything with a spoon when he’s making a drink. I cannot bear it.

BachAtTheMoon · 23/02/2019 16:32

Clapping!!
Constant pulling of shoe velcro.
The clicking of my mouse button and the scrolly wheel noise. had to buy a silent one!

FloofyDoof · 23/02/2019 16:32

My cat gently and repeatedly flicking everything on my dressing table with his paw at 4am, because he wants me to wake up.

Tap, tap, tap-tap, tap-tap-tap, tap. Aaargh!

AlwaysSomethingThere · 23/02/2019 16:33

I am forced to live with a throat clearer at the moment and (not light-hearted) it's severely affecting my emotional wellbeing. Tears are shed regularly. I too suffer with extreme misophonia.

There are a few sounds on here that don't bother me though so it's nice to know there's a small percentage of my personality that can be tolerant.

My dd had 1 of those supportboots when she broke her foot the velcro on that made me want to pull my ears off!

littlemeitslyn · 23/02/2019 16:38

Shut the cat out !🙄

PivotPivotPivottt · 23/02/2019 16:41

Sniffing
Snorting
Breathing heavy
Constant throat clearing
Nail biting
Chewing gum
Chewing
Crunching
Slurping
Gulping drinks
A door that bangs back and forth in the frame when a window is open
Finger clicking
I've noticed a noise some people make when they talk, as they open they're mouths to speak and you hear the saliva in their mouthBlush

There's lots more, these noises make me anxious and can push me to the point of tears. Have been the same since I was a child. I hadn't heard of misophonia until I read about it on here and I think I must have it. The rage I feel with some of these noises isn't normal and has an effect on day to day life. I will walk rather than get a bus as without a doubt someone will be sniffing, I make sure iy sit away from people in cafes and trains as I will be able to hear them eating. Some of these noises I can hear from people ear me and if I comment on it to whoever I'm with they have no idea what I'm talking about and can't hear anything. But to me it's really loud.
