To ask how much you spend a week on coffee?

How much do you spend a week on coffee and how many cups do you have a day?

Me- so I work a lot on district in different areas so I so spend quite a bit of money on take out coffee, generally I choose cheaper outlets such as Morrison's & McDonald's (approx £2 per cup) and usually once a every weekend myself and my partner treat ourselves to costa, Starbucks etc! (Approx £3 a cup) sometimes I do some paperwork in cafes etc during my working day which is worth the money as it allows me to relax but be productive at the same time!

Days I work in the office I use my own coffee jar so money is saved there!

I calculate I spend approximately £9/10 a week? (3 x £2 and 1 x £3) Excluding the price of my coffee jar! Eeek I have never actually realised how much I spend!

I usually don't drink more than 2 cups a day and try and keep it at 1 when i can!

2 pounds a week on pods, free coffee from Nero on a Tuesday, free coffee from Waitrose wed/thu/Fri Grin

Ragwort · 19/02/2019 18:58

I rarely buy a coffee out but I use at least 3 packs of ground coffee a week @ £3.50 a Pack, I take ground coffee to work to make my own (we could use ground coffee at work & claim the cost but I am extremely fussy about what brand I drink).

Ragwort · 19/02/2019 18:59

How do you get free coffee at Nero?

O2 priority gives you a free coffee after 12 on a Tue or Wed. I spend 10 a month on my phone and get 12 pound of coffee

evilharpy · 19/02/2019 19:04

I used to have a subscription to Pact coffee, one bag every 10 days. I stopped that and now buy my ground coffee from Aldi instead. I probably use a bag a week.

I get a free weekly Cafe Nero coffee with O2 Priority and another monthly one with Perkbox when I remember, and occasionally a free one from Waitrose, but very very seldom ever pay for a takeaway coffee. Maybe one every three or four months at most.

IWantChocolates · 19/02/2019 19:04

I have beans at home so about £3 for a pack that'll last me about 3 weeks. Then I tend to have one out every other day. So each week probably around £9-10.

I'd spend more but my husband thinks buying coffee out of the house is a waste so I only do it occasionally. I should spend less but I do really like it.

Curiousmum69 · 19/02/2019 19:06

I spent £350 on a bean to cup machine and about £60 every 2 months on 6kg of coffee beans.

But that is for 3 of us. I have at least 6 coffees a day.

LaurieFairyCake · 19/02/2019 19:06

£7 at home

£15 out (on hot chocolate/coffee)

ConorMcGregorsChin · 19/02/2019 19:07

Nothing.

Used to own a coffee shop. Loved the smell when grinding beans. Love an occasional flat white but simply can't justify the expense of one either take out or sit in.

Littlebelina · 19/02/2019 19:10

On maternity leave at moment so too much! Probably 2 cups out during the week and one on the weekend with the family (going for coffee is an easy activity with a small baby and a 7 year old)

AutumnCrow · 19/02/2019 19:12

I cup a day of Asda 'gold blend'.

About 35p a week probably.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/02/2019 19:14

Around €50 a month, combination of coffee shop and expensive beans/ground coffee to make at home. I love coffee (the clue is in my name). It's how I give myself a treat (don't eat cake/sweets/drink much alcohol).

ScreamingValenta · 19/02/2019 19:15
  1. It's free at work and I drink tea at home.
Justkeeprollingalong · 19/02/2019 19:17

£0, can't abide the stuff.... now tea on the other hand, but that's free at work and just the cost of tea bags and milk at home so negligible.

NutellaStraightOutTheJar · 19/02/2019 19:18

I used to get a hot choc from the coffee hatch at my train station - 5 days per week! I reckon I must have spent at least 10 pounds a week. Insane. Now I no longer commute by train I spend nothing on take out coffee/tea/hot choc. But omg, a warm drink on a cold train.....can't beat that!

SherlockSays · 19/02/2019 19:22

When I'm back at work (on maternity at the moment) I probably buy 2 cups a week from either Nero or Starbucks so probably around £7 a week.

Going to have to try and reign it in when I'm back and have to pay nursery fees Envy

SmarmyMrMime · 19/02/2019 19:25

About £4 per year when we have to replace the aging manky jar for guests. Plus another quid to replace the dusty teabags.

Cordial on the other hand... about £3.50 a week for a small bottle of Belvoir since the stupid sugar tax and contamination of the Ribena and High Juices with revolting artificial sweetners to avoid it. Paying the extra I don't mind. Being forced onto a tiny selection of premium brands plus being taxed extra for the privilage, I mind deeply.

halfwitpicker · 19/02/2019 19:25

Live in Canada so it's lots cheaper - at least 1 coffee out per day, sometimes 2. It's about $2 a cup, so... $20 per week at the most. Which is 10 quid. Too much!

Youmadorwhat · 19/02/2019 19:27

I don’t know really. I usually have one or two cups in work but that’s free. And I usually have one in the morning at home (instant) but at the weekend in the morning I have my “posh ground coffee” from my local coffee house....so probably on average 3ish a week.

lljkk · 19/02/2019 19:27
  1. I hate coffee. I also only very rarely buy tea ready made. It's so cheap to make yourself & I like to make it how I like it.
Plus the take-away containers. So wasteful.

I suppose I have herbal teas maybe twice a month in cafe mtgs with others (try to bring own mug).

Roxyxoxo · 19/02/2019 19:28

Around £1.50 (roughly half a jar of ‘normal’ coffee I like), but also bought a reusable travel cup and a mini battery powered milk frother. I used to spend around £3 a day, but in honesty once I’d found a way to make my own that tasted good I only buy some of the special flavours very occasionally. Probably not doable if you are travelling around with work all day though.

Taffeta · 19/02/2019 19:33

About £5-6 for a bag of beans which lasts 3 weeks

Also probably one cortado out once a week - £2.50.

OliviaCat · 19/02/2019 19:33

I was spending too much so now I make a big cafetiere in the morning and take it with me in a flask. I resent spending £3 on a cup of coffee!

TickledOnion · 19/02/2019 19:37

I get free drinks at work but if I’m out I’ll go to Pret A Manger. They do a lovely £1 filter coffee.

anniehm · 19/02/2019 19:54

Maybe £5, one commercially made and one bag of beans
