British IS girl "wants to return to Britain"

Said she has no regrets;
Says she's seen severed heads in bins but it didn't faze her.
Says living with IS lived up to her expectations.
Now she wants to come home to Britain as she's 9 months pregnant.

Sounds an ideal member of any sane society

Think about it. Islamists are an evil bunch of animals, their brains are wired differently to ours, look at all the worlds troubles, who are at the root, Islamists

And what is the difference between this kind of view and the extremists many are condemning.

Othering a group and calling them 'animals' and saying they are 'wired differently' denies their humanity and ultimately their culpability.

If they are animals they are not responsible for their behaviour and can be killed.

If we allow this type of nonsense to go unchallenged what is the difference between us and them? IS see other groups as wrong, lacking in humanity and deserving of death. IS blame others for all the 'worlds troubles'.

When faced with difficult situations like this we need to maintain or belief in humanity and human rights. We need to do the right thing and retain the use of the rule of law. Demonising and othering is a dangerous route that doesn't stop IS it leads to it.

Justanotherlurker yes I absolutely am pedantic when people bring up Nazi references. There are very important lessons to be learned from this period in history and waving S.S. references around diminishes the impact when there really are clear comparisons with Weimar and Nazi Germany.

I heard in her voice someone who had changed in three years from a stupid schoolgirl to a dangerous woman. Give her half a chance and she will strike back at our values and our children.

If they do let her back I

  1. Hope they take that baby off her at birth. She'll never be fit to be a parent.
And 2. Never offer her an ounce of protection. Stupid woman deserves everything that happens to her.

As to how she was found, the war correspondent Anthony Loyd wrote today in the Times that he went to the camp with a translator and asked administrators to find him a British "jihadi wife" to speak with.

"He reappeared a few minutes later with two veiled women and two children. “Here are two muhajireen who say they are prepared to speak with you, ” the man said glibly, completely unaware of their identities. He did not even know what nationality the women were."

"The women sat down. We began to talk. Then came those words: “I’m a sister from London. I’m a Bethnal Green girl.”"

If these were really the circumstances I suspect that she didn't have the foresight to be "on message" and that there will be a follow-up interview in a few days in which she denounces the caliphate, loves democracy etc etc.

I have nothing whatsoever against individual muslims. I know a several muslims and they are among the kindest, most trustworthy, pleasant people one could meet. I do believe though that Islam is a horribly violent, intolerant, superstitious, supremacist set of ideas, and its biggest victims are muslims themselves. I don't wish to see the influence of islam spread here anymore than it has. If that makes me "islamophobic" -- so be it..!

FWIW I'm another who wants this done within the law, but let's take the earlier suggestion that her child might be adopted outside the family and then pause for a moment to imagine the screams of outrage from Shamima and her supporters. "Denying mothers' rights", "dehumanising", "othering"; you name it, all of it would be in there - and all of it would no doubt be seized upon by those who can see no other narrative than victimhood

Sadly there are far too many such people, and they endanger us all

Why is it ludicrous to want people stripped of passports when they decide to join a terrorist group? When a person makes that choice they are saying a huge fuck you to the country.

Because it feeds into their brainwashing and affirms the UK as the enemy of Islam.

there was a bit about this on the one show yesterday. they interviewed some young girls. was worrying that one blamed the establishment and said she was a victim.
that is why this woman is a threat, when young girls see her as a victim.
(did hear on the news that the home secretary is doing everything in his power to stop her coming back)

I don't want her back. She stands for everything that is against British values.
Surely allowing her to pump out kids here is crazy. Nothing like letting the enemy produce their future soldiers. 🙄on our soil.
She's a traitor and should either be banned or hung. Disgraceful.

She can’t be prevented from coming back here. Whether she is able to get back is another matter. I don’t think we should endanger anyone’s lives in attempting to ‘rescue’ her. If she comes back here she can can face our justice system. It will cost a lot of public money, doesn’t it always.

UK Citizenship can only be taken away if someone curently has dual nationality.

It is illegal to make anyone stateless.

A pp has said something worrying, could she actually be tried and convicted of a crime? Presumably just joining one of these groups is a crime with a long sentence, please tell me it is!
