This is awful, I can’t believe it hasn’t been more mainstream news? I fear the worst after so long but I hope they reach him.. IOS anyone else following this?

It's an awful story, the poor child. I don't hold out much hope of them getting out alive given how far he has fallen. I am staggered at how small the hole was that he fell down.

Fluffypot333 · 20/01/2019 21:20

It's so so awful.I can't imagine the anguish his parents are going through.

SoaringSwallow · 20/01/2019 21:34

I can barely follow this. His older brother died aged three.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 20/01/2019 22:35

I can’t find any info as to if they’ve heard anything from him Sad

It’s horrific. The poor family have already lost a son. I read that they were just walking along the beach and he died from a heart defect.

Hoping for a miracle for them.

Scarydinosaurs · 20/01/2019 22:39

This is so awful.

vuripadexo · 20/01/2019 22:40

How do they know the child is actually in there? It seems more like it's the testimony of the parents that the boy is in there.

MamaRaisingBoys · 20/01/2019 22:40

This is just awful.

I remember watching a film about a similar thing based on a true story years ago. Sounds like the rescue they are attempting is similar. Does anyone know what it is?

I was just about to say this - I think it had Sissy Spacek in it? And it was a tiny hole she fell down as well.

RJnomore1 · 20/01/2019 22:43

There was an American girl down a well years ago. I need to google it I can't remember much.

TheChippendenSpook · 20/01/2019 22:44

It was called Everybodies baby: The rescue of Jessica MCclure. I was fascinated by the rescue when I was younger.

TheChippendenSpook · 20/01/2019 22:44

That was the title of the movie.

RitaConnors · 20/01/2019 22:44

That was ‘Baby Jessica’ that fell down a well previously.

purpleme12 · 20/01/2019 22:45

Oh my god this is tragic :-(

RJnomore1 · 20/01/2019 22:45

Jessica McClure!

They got her out and she's a teacher now but I think it only was 2.5 days

How did he fall down? My heart breaks for that family

BluePheasant · 20/01/2019 22:46

6 days seems a long time to decide to start drilling if they couldn't access any other way. It doesn't seem like there is much hope Sad

MamaRaisingBoys · 20/01/2019 22:46

Yes that’s the one, thanks

6 days is a long long time Sad

Fiddie · 20/01/2019 22:47

This is awful but if he's not had water for 6 days then surely the poor little boy won't be alive anymore?

SemperIdem · 20/01/2019 22:48

6 days is such a long time. With all my heart, I want it to still be a rescue mission but I think it is a recovery one.

That poor family.

Oh yes, Jessica McClure. Her mum was called Cissy, it wasn't Sissy Spacek in it.

Beerflavourednipples · 20/01/2019 22:49

Yes, I can't imagine he is going to be ok. How awful Sad

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 20/01/2019 22:50

It’s being reported very...oddly. I don’t want to speculate. Let’s just hope for the best possible outcome.

Villanellesproudmum · 20/01/2019 22:53

It was in all the main stream news a few days ago and also on Radio 1. Seems to have gone quiet. Really awful news.
