This is awful, I can’t believe it hasn’t been more mainstream news? I fear the worst after so long but I hope they reach him.. IOS anyone else following this?

This is so dreadful. I can't see how a toddler could be alive without food or water following this fall.
Poor parents

Ilovechristmaslights · 25/01/2019 21:33

Poor little lad.

I very much doubt he could possibly be alive, I hope he didn’t suffer. I would be extremely grateful to the people risking their lives to bring his body back to me. Knowing for certain he was dead would be hell, not knowing would be even worse. I hope they get to him soon x

Tidythatmess · 25/01/2019 21:33

The miners are so close. In the past hour the boy's father has required an ambulance for an anxiety attack.

BertieBotts · 25/01/2019 21:33

Twelve days :( I suppose it's now in the territory of hoping that he hit hits head when he fell and died or was at least sent unconscious immediately. Just awful to think of the alternative. I suppose if nobody heard crying etc that's likely.

ButtonMoonLoon · 25/01/2019 21:34

It’s looking like they’re really close, lots of media gathered outside, helicopters scrambled, presumably to transport him to hospital ASAP.

Nicknacky · 25/01/2019 21:37

Where are posters reading the updates?

ChristmasSnow · 25/01/2019 21:39

There first child died afew years back i believe

FannyFifer · 25/01/2019 21:41

I hadn't heard about this, how sad, poor wee soul.

ButtonMoonLoon · 25/01/2019 21:42

I’m using this link for updates
www.rtve.es/noticias/20190125/directo-rescate-julen/1872500.shtml

SBDB · 25/01/2019 21:43

Is there any news? This is so sad and I have no knowledge of Spanish at all so am unable to read the Spanish news sites.

Heymummee · 25/01/2019 21:48

If you follow the link above, there’s a live feed update and I’ve been copying the updates into google translate. No real updates since 21:19 Spanish time to say they’re 45cm away from where Julen might be.

LittleDoritt · 25/01/2019 21:48

From what I've read the well was 110m deep. I can't imagine how he could have survived that. And then to have 12 days of waiting. His poor poor parents must be in agony.

Nicknacky · 25/01/2019 21:50

45cm doesn’t sound a lot but that far underground, in these situations it must feel like miles away.

Tidythatmess · 25/01/2019 21:55

I'm using Spanish news sites like ButtonMoon, can't find any English ones.

Sorry, have never done a link before

ButtonMoonLoon · 25/01/2019 22:04

The rescue team are back in the well, they have to wait 30 minutes for toxic gases to clear after each explosion. They were saying that was the last one so they should be on their way to where they believe he is by now.

Bumblebeewine · 25/01/2019 22:04

Have been following, such a sad story Sad

RLABC · 25/01/2019 22:08

I've just seen this thread. Is the poor mite still not out? Sad

BluePheasant · 25/01/2019 22:09

I keep coming back to this thread to see if he's been found. The parents must be in such a traumatised state. I cannot see how there is any chance of survival after such a long time but in their shoes I imagine I would keep believing he could still be alive Sad

youarenotkiddingme · 25/01/2019 22:10

It's so tragic. Those patents waiting for all this time not knowing and a baby alone in a deep well. Sad

OnlineAlienator · 25/01/2019 22:10

It will be a genuine miracle for the boy to be alive, how horrific for the parents :(

ReaganSomerset · 25/01/2019 22:10

Still no news, I see. Poor little chap.

honorariam · 25/01/2019 22:15

They had another son who died, aged 4 or 5 of a heart attack in 2017. My heart just breaks for them.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 25/01/2019 22:17

I'm so hoping that the medical people are correct and there's a chance that he's in a state of coma and can be revived. I can't imagine 12 days without supplies...

My fingers are very tightly crossed tonight.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 25/01/2019 22:19

They're almost there; but they've got surveyors in due to proximity to where they think he is.

The digging conditions seem to have been pretty good today.
