My wife is dying

My beautiful, wonderful wife is only 33 and I'm sitting next to her bed in the hospice tonight watching her die. She's had cancer for a long time and I knew this was coming, but it's so very hard to watch.

Oh Sanjunipo.
Im so sorry. Please take comfort in the knowledge that you were there for her and all the loved you shared, well still share together.
I was with my mum when she passed. We knew she wasn't going to get better it would have been a miracle, if she did. When she did pass it was also a relief.
My thoughts are with you.

Knittedfairies · 16/01/2019 11:49

I'm so sorry. Her passing was peaceful and you were there telling her she was loved; none of us can hope for more💐

Purpleboy · 16/01/2019 11:49

SAN I'm so sorry for your loss,I have been silently following your thread and thinking about you all constantly. Your story has touched so many peoples hearts, possibly because we have been living it with you as opposed to hearing about if after the event. You sound like a beautiful family, and no doubt you will do the best for your son for the rest of his life.
My thought, prayers and condolences go out to you all at this heartbreaking time. Xxxxxx

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/01/2019 11:50

It probably won't hit you for along time, if it ever does fully.

WH1SPERS · 16/01/2019 12:01

It will hit you in bits, it’s nature’s way of helping you cope. It’s too much to take in at once.

One minute you will be sobbing and falling apart. But 5 mins later you will pull yourself together to change baby’s nappy. That’s completely normal.

I’m glad that she passed peacefully and you were together at the end.

I hope that you are able to arrange a funeral / service of remembrance / celebration of her life that will be a true reflection of who she was.

And that you have lots of RL friends and family to support you in the days ahead.

💐🌷🌹🥀🌺

Sorry to hear about her passing, @SanJunipero. I'm glad you were with her at the end. Be kind to yourself now - don't feel you should be feeling this or that. It will feel very strange for a while and there is no right way to grieve. Sending you and DS love and strength x
