Worst baby names you’ve heard of recently..

I’m talking the ridiculous ones, so not meaning to offend anyone. If you remember the story how you heard it please include that too!

Mine
When I was in hospital after my c section 6 weeks ago, lady across from me was talking to a nurse. The conversation went like this-

Nurse “he’s gorgeous! Does he have a name?”
Lady “yeh he’s legend king, after my dad”
Nurse “ooh....lovely!”
Lady “yeah named him after my dad as my dad died yesterday, same day e was born”
Nurse “oh I’m so sorry!”
Lady “it’s alright happened years ago, he was stabbed never liked the bastard serves him right!”
Nurse “okay! Right you can have these pain killers...”

😂😂 know I shouldn’t laugh but me and my mum told everyone at Christmas.

Also, a good rule of thumb is if the midwife asks how to spell your name of choice, then you probably need to have a rethink.

Dniece goes to school with a Khylon. Names are on drawers so I know that’s the right spelling.

He’s a sweet little lad by all accounts but it makes me think of pylon every time.

There was a Nemo on postnatal with me when I had ds2 & ds1 is in a sports club with a Conan.

When I was in hospital having DS, there was a Brooke, surname Bond. You have to be of a certain age.

Nygell. Older child in a family of otherwise exceedingly normal and normally spelled names.

A Honey-loop at a school I visited, I had the child repeat it a couple of times as I was thinking "Honey-Lou" which would have been bad enough. But no, Loop, like the cereal

There is a child at my nephew’s school whose name is Thanos. Like that evil space Hitler dude from the marvel comics.

I was judging Dniece there, thought it was a yooneeeek spelling of Denise

@notexactlyhappytohelp I thought for a second that you meant the name Dniece (ie an alternative spelling of Denise)! 😂

Rioja and Chardonnay- sisters, I'm not joking

DH's cousin had a baby boy last month, and when we looked on the hospital's births page (this is over in the US, some hospitals put up details of babies born, if the parent permits), to see a picture of him, we noticed a baby girl on the page named Lilylynn, which is a bit of a tongue twister. I guess the saving grace is, she can simply go by Lily.

That’s a common Greek name. My daughters surgeon is called thanos.

Emma-Leigh. I mean obviously the sound is fine but the spelling!!!!

Storey some amalgamation of parents' names completely failing to acknowledge the accepted meaning.

Isn't Thanos just a Greek - possibly Saint's - name? I'm sure I've met one many years ago. Think Nemo is Greek too.

Had to reread about Pumpkin, assumed it was overheard so was going to defend it as a pet name! My DD2 made a friend at softplay, she was adamant she was called Sausage as that's what her mum was calling her! She turned out to have a perfectly normal Emma or Lily type name. Obviously Pumpkin written on a screen is slightly more damning
