I’m talking the ridiculous ones, so not meaning to offend anyone. If you remember the story how you heard it please include that too!

Mine Grin
When I was in hospital after my c section 6 weeks ago, lady across from me was talking to a nurse. The conversation went like this-

Nurse “he’s gorgeous! Does he have a name?”
Lady “yeh he’s legend king, after my dad”
Nurse “ooh....lovely!”
Lady “yeah named him after my dad as my dad died yesterday, same day e was born”
Nurse “oh I’m so sorry!”
Lady “it’s alright happened years ago, he was stabbed never liked the bastard serves him right!”
Nurse “okay! Right you can have these pain killers...”

😂😂 know I shouldn’t laugh but me and my mum told everyone at Christmas.

Names and stories please!

DAunt has worked in a few nurseries and these are the absolute monstrosities she has come across. It's such a shame for the child, I'm not a fan of the plain boring top 100 names but the pathetic attempts at 'original' and 'unique' names are just cringey and horrid.

Poppylizzyrose · 10/01/2019 00:20

Notmissmoneypenny · 10/01/2019 00:29

Jason. He was in the next bay on the hospital ward when I had DS in the summer. You just don’t meet a baby Jason these days.

Poppylizzyrose · 10/01/2019 00:35

Steady on! Keep to the really rare as this thread could really offend, nothing wrong with the name Jason! Gary or Brian.

I’m talking like the likes of Michael Jacksons daughter blanket... but the non famous.

Bluebell (not a baby though, she's a teenager so somewhat ahead of the more recent trend of unique names!)

BitOfFun · 10/01/2019 00:44

I don't know why I'm even bothering, but the La-a thing is garbage.

SleepingStandingUp · 10/01/2019 01:07

Breaze, for a boy.
Let's hope he doesn't suffer with gas...

SleepingStandingUp · 10/01/2019 01:12

How else do you pronounce Beau?

thegardenfairy · 10/01/2019 01:20

I thought there could be no worse name for a baby boy than my neighbour who named her baby Idris, about 6 months ago.

Today I heard that my neice called her baby boy Tonga. WTF!!

Bora8 · 10/01/2019 01:27

Whilst in hospital after giving birth to DS a Romanian couple were in my shared room, new midwife on shift...
Midwife: so what have you called her?
Couple: (phonetically spelled) Fem-ar-lay
Midwife: ooo that’s unusual, does it have a meaning?
Couple: don’t know, we see signs for it everywhere we go though
Midwife: (confused) ahhh okay, where do you see it?
Couple: over there on the wall...

Cue couple pointing to the sign for the toilet that says ‘FEMALE’!!

Yes they called their child Female! Luckily it was a girl
