There's been a change of main topic from dog poo, to the repatriating of Christmas cards sent to the wrong address, sometimes many years after the addressee has moved house. It's like a walk down memory lane!

OP posts:
SeeMoreStars · 21/12/2018 17:53

Someone's lost a phone.

StitchingMoss · 21/12/2018 17:55

We have lots of repatriating Christmas cards - if the person sending the card didn’t know the recipient had moved they can’t have been close Grin

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 21/12/2018 17:56

Requests for Chinese takeaway recommendations. Week after week, often multiple times per week.

There are only 4 in the area. It's not a topic that needs to be thrashed out on a weekly basis.

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 21/12/2018 17:57

I don't live in the village of my youth..but I am a member of the Facebook page. It's surreal watching the kids who were professed anarchists in the 1970s moaning about litter, graffiti and fucking parking...

NerrSnerr · 21/12/2018 18:01

The rotary club did the driving round father Christmas thing and went a different route around the village than advertised. This has caused some scandal.

The arguing about fireworks has calmed down (until new year).

Jasonmendoza · 21/12/2018 18:03

Ours claims to be non political but is very clearly geared to promote a local (unsuccessful) candidate who stands in the local elections every year. It's nauseating.

MamaLovesMango · 21/12/2018 18:08

I love these threads. Mostly because I feel a lot of the time, that I love amongst complete morons and I know I’m not the only one Grin

Christmas cards here too.

NigelGresley · 21/12/2018 18:19

I’m wondering if I live in the same place as you OP. Grin

Livedandlearned2 · 21/12/2018 18:23

Christmas cards on mine too. Also car parks charging too much. Last few weeks has been mostly about Hermes drivers.

billysboy · 21/12/2018 18:24

Ours is all up in arms about the proposed new homes that the area desperately needs but not in our village thank you

Ginpuddles · 21/12/2018 18:24

Reuniting lost keys/wallets/toys here.

Plus after a spring complaining about potholes, complaints are in full swing about the roadworks currently in place to fix them Hmm

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/12/2018 18:25

Dog poo, bin collections and bad parking here.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 21/12/2018 18:26

Missing cats, unruly children, cars parked on corners/pavements.

stripeyfish · 21/12/2018 18:28

Fracking Sad

Wandastartup · 21/12/2018 18:29

I was also wondering if I am in the same village as OP? What letter does it begin with!

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 21/12/2018 18:30

Slagging off Hermes delivery mainly at the moment and one guy who won’t stop banging on about brexit, he has fallen out and blocked so many people that he is mainly posting to himself!

CurbsideProphet · 21/12/2018 18:31

Dog poo, escape artist dogs, Christmas cards, arguments about fireworks, weekly posts asking for the best takeaways that deliver in the village.

Arguments start over v innocuous enquiries. We're "incomers", so we aren't qualified to get involved Wink Grin

CurbsideProphet · 21/12/2018 18:34

stripeyfish we're about 20 miles south of you. I drive that way for work once or twice a month and it must be a nightmare, especially as there are such divisive opinions.

Livingthedream12345 · 21/12/2018 18:36

We had someone moan about their neighbours leaving their Christmas lights on all night: it's dangerous and bad for the environment....
Someone replied that with the extra light at night it'd hopefully cut the burglaries that increases when the street lights went off...

MamaLovesMango · 21/12/2018 18:37

@DailyMailDontStealMyThread

We could live in the same village. There has recently been a lot of slagging off of the local Hermes courier who is also on the page and it’s all rather embarrassing.... I’m currently waiting for a parcel......

A handful of militant racist Brexiteers showed themselves a few weeks ago and have now created their own hate filled group. Unfortunately they haven’t disappeared all together and still rear their ugly heads on the village FB. The new group (named the village’s name!) really is grim reading and it’s made me feel rather uncomfortable knowing there’s quite a lot of people like that in my immediate community. We’re a large-ish rural village and the ratio of Racist Cunt to Average Villager was alarming Sad

EastMidsGPs · 21/12/2018 18:37

Bike stolen from outside the library.

Well loved toy needs reuniting with its owner

Local pub closed down immediately after environmental health visit and consequent court order. It seems it had been a brothel and than advertised as a new Polish restaurant (that never opened) and so there is speculation that money laundering was going on. Most recently its been place to eat and a smoking bar. However, no one has ever seen anyone in there.

RhubarbAndCustards · 21/12/2018 18:41

Our fireworks outrage has died down has as the concern over feeding the ducks bread and speeding tractors. We are now also on mis-directed Christmas cards. At least two people a week seem to need the number of our scrap man.

SumitosIsMyWall · 21/12/2018 18:41

There's all sorts on ours. We have a gang that currently thinks it's funny to smash in windows of cars and to key them which is creating a bit of a lynch mob trying to catch them to be fair they are targeting very expensive cars so the owners are livid, campaigners asking for reduce speed limits, other campaigners asking for speed bumps to be removed, angry people that hate dog walkers using the park, angry dog walkers that hate cyclists using the park, a lot of misplaced Christmas cards and lost pets. Always worth a nose when Im on Facebook.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 21/12/2018 18:42

Oh and 'is anyone free to do a tip run?'

lynnepot · 21/12/2018 18:45

Is the Facebook page open for all to see or is locked for members only? I'd probably like to snoop on a village fb page but certainly not join one if our village had one.
