I'm still here, but I'm curled up at the back with a stinking cold and feeling miserable. Trying not to inflict my misery on anyone else though so hiding with hot tea and meds.

Seafour · 10/01/2019 09:33

Mine hope you're ok and that today will be kind to you.

Bexcee I swear one of our early risers became more difficult to wake up the older they got. Ten minutes with a cuppa before the kids get up sounds like bliss.

Andre I'm passing you a honey and lemon drink with an optional drop of whiskey/brandy to put into it. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm just keeping on keeping on, have some friends coming for lunch, they're bringing soup then walking Lola for us. DH is resting and has realised his back is going to take lots of time to heal.
We have one of the dsc coming this evening before going back to university tomorrow.

Can you not just write a diary?

MaliceInSunderland · 10/01/2019 13:57

Yes, a diary.

A private diary. Or bullet journal.

Nacknick · 10/01/2019 16:19

Bexcee one of my most blissful mornings was over the Christmas hols was New Year's Day when I was first up by a long while and sat in the kitchen with a cup of tea contemplating the day ahead! I wish you many more peaceful starts to the day.

Hugs for anyone else who needs one.

Well I did my walk. Was close to talking myself out of it but then remembered I'd told a whole heap of people that I was going to do it. And it was lovely! Grey and cold, a kind of no weather day, but the park was full of life - squirrels running up trees and the parakeets were making a right old racket, squawking and flying about just overhead (yes we have colonies of green parakeets in all the parks around here). And I made it to the top of the hill despite originally thinking I wouldn't so that was a big confidence boost. Here's hoping we see some sunshine soon!

yawning801 · 10/01/2019 16:40

Nacknick that sounds amazing, well done you!

I'm not having such a great day today, lots of horrendous back pain, and unusually stressed about a hospital appointment so I'm curled up with a huge bowl of pasta being antisocial before dragging myself out later. That's how my day is going Grin

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Seafour · 10/01/2019 17:04

Nacknick amazing, well done for defeating the hill, do you have another goal in sight?

Yawning So sorry that you're in pain today, back pain is the pits Thanks for you.

Hi all,
I'm still not up to much so can I just say a blanket 'I'm sorry for your troubles' to those who are suffering in any way.
(We has a major crisis to do with one of my dc's health yesterday which was very scary for them and very upsetting for me. I've stayed off work with them and glad I have done so, as while they are feeling a lot better since early evening today, I have had a major backlash in terms of anxiety (Sad), so whilst I probably should go to work tomorrow, I really don't feel up to it.)
Sea, whilst your dh's bad back isn't good news, at least he is being sensible about it. Do you know of a good osteopath? It would be good for him to see someone who could perhaps do a gentle massage and give him some gentle exercises to do (whilst telling him what not to do, iyswim).
I'm really glad to see you're posting a bit more now, and remember (possibly with something in my eye) your post of 'alive' just after your op. You've come a long way since then.
Your dreams of going to NZ are lovely and I hope they come true for you. If I went, I would have to go and see Hobbiton on the South Island... but enough about me fancying Orlando Bloom and Aiden Turner....! My neighbour is there now. She used to live there and is currently visiting her son, having taken her dad with her.
Love and light to all buslings.
(BTW, had anyone ever said who's driving? Don't ask me as I failed a minibus test many years ago, despite being licensed to drive one.)

BigApple11 · 10/01/2019 18:59

I think the bus crashed a while ago.

HoraceCope · 10/01/2019 19:20

No, but its a Mini bus

MyLuckyRainbow · 10/01/2019 19:46

Hope the driver has a real drivers license

gruber · 10/01/2019 19:50

Technically I could drive as passed my Minibus test...but can’t actually as still not allowed to after C section! Maybe it comes with a driver?! Hope it is smoother than the Night Bus in Harry Potter though, that looks like a terrible ride!

I didn’t go out today, really cold here and baby had been feeding most of the day (it feels like) so I’ve stayed in the cosy Bus, where there’s virtual company and plenty of refreshments.

MintyT · 10/01/2019 20:48

Sea. Thank you, I have replied I hope it's worked. It's kind that you are caring about us all when you have so much to deal with yourself

doorstomanualplease · 10/01/2019 20:48

Seafour is ever so brave. I remember her from the low carb thread when this happened on a flight

I fell asleep on the plane and freaked a few people out because I stopped breathing and the ventilator couldn't restart me because of the pressure in the cabin. DH was quite slick apparently, turned the oxygen up, told the bloke in the seat next to him to move so that he could grab the resuscitation kit and hey presto back in the room.

Between that and the suction kit, you two are quite a remarkable team. Don't know how you do it! Flowers

Schuyler · 10/01/2019 20:56

I couldn’t drive a mini bus. I struggle with my small car. I’ll stick to just watching and letting others drive, I think! :)

MaliceInSunderland · 10/01/2019 21:10

Shock that is bloody amazing.

Seafour · 10/01/2019 21:17

Mine sorry to hear about your poorly little one and your anxiety, I hope you feel better tomorrow.
DH is only being sensible after doing too much and making it worse, my physio is going to have a look at him on Monday but has already given him some good advice. There's a really good chiropractor locally who a friend was recommending to him earlier this week so I might suggest it to him again.

Gruber I went outside just after lunch and it was freezing so being snuggled up with your lovely baby was probably the best place to be.

yawning801 · 10/01/2019 21:21

I agree that Sea's team is amazing, I'm terrified of flying anyway so to have that happen on a flight must be petrifying!

Crownandheelshigh · 10/01/2019 21:25

Hi @Seafour and everyone.
Hope ur all well; I'm popping of the bus for a bit as little man isn't well and is unusually clingy.

Sending hugs to everyone! Xx

doorstomanualplease · 10/01/2019 21:28

Isn't she amazing, yawning? I would be so scared to be any more than a blue light trip to my hospital if I were C4. I think I would always want the safety of knowing my HDU always has a bed for me.

#heroinesofmumsnet right here!!

yawning801 · 10/01/2019 21:31

I'm glad we see eye to eye, door!

doorstomanualplease · 10/01/2019 21:34

Sure do yawning Smile

EilaLila · 10/01/2019 21:42

@Seafour is there a difference between Intensive Care and HDU or are the terms used interchangeably ? I’m not medical, so don’t know much.
