Ahhh Sea. You continue to amaze me with your positivity. I do hope you have the best Christmas possible. Your dh sounds wonderful.

I have just got in from work at the big blue supermarket and I am holding your hand Sea. My lovely black cat has come to curl up next to you and she is going to stay there all night and purr. I have just read that you haven't got a swallow reflex so I have gone from feeling sorry for myself to feeling thankful that I can swallow at all. Granted, it does feel like there are big lumps of... concrete? in there and it is very painful but it's only a cold and I'll get better. The electric blanket is on and I have a hot water bottle too, it's lovely in the den. I can hear soft breathing all around and purring. I think I can hear some Christmas carols being sung gently outside. It's very quiet and peaceful. Sleep well dear Sea x

Morning Sea. I hope you has a restful night!
So today’s the day then! I’m just thinking back to you posting before going off to surgery and then your “I’m alive” post afterwards. And here you are going home for Xmas .
Although you are worries I sincerely hope you and your DH have a lovely peaceful Xmas and that the alarms keep bloody quiet.
I’ve been awake since 3.30, the joys of a surgical menopause last month. So I’ve given up and I’m up for the day. And basically ordering last minute rubbish from amazon BlushXmas Grin
You need to line up some Xmas films for when you get home. May I suggest Elf and polar express. And if you have Netflix you need to see the Christmas chronicles.

Much love Seafour, you’re bloody amazing!

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 23/12/2018 07:48

Good morning @Seafour

I hope you had a better night's rest last night and good luck for the move home today. I realise it's totally inappropriate but I laughed at your retort "we ring 999 when that happens at home". I hope that gave the HCP and jolt. I'm dismayed by your continued treatment.

So pleased you will be home for Christmas. If you need a distraction today there's a brilliant parking thread running at the moment - it will lighten anyone's mood.

Thanks for everyone's kind thoughts - and many kind thoughts & prayers back for you all.

The tea is brewing in the pot, coffee is in the cafetière (oooh!) and pastries are on the warmer. X

This one? To decorate my neighbour’s new ‘no parking outside my door’ signs with a bit of tinsel? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/3456654-To-decorate-my-neighbour-s-new-no-parking-outside-my-door-signs-with-a-bit-of-tinsel

Good morning Buslings, time to call the dog walkers back from the park, secure the guinea pigs, tuck the cats into their hammocks, pack the glasses away and pack your bags.
Transport is booked for anytime after 11:00am which could mean 10:50am or midnight but I'm going back to my beautiful house and lovely little Lola. My dh & dss are on their way to collect my wheelchair, crutches & splints and then the big wait begins.

I will get the ambulance crew to give a toot and a flash of blue lights as we pass the car park and you can follow us home.

Ooh fab news Seafour!

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 23/12/2018 10:19

Seafour - honestly and I'm not just saying it, the thought of you waking up in your own bed on Christmas morning in your own surroundings has made my weekend x

InflagranteDelicto · 23/12/2018 10:41

Sea that is fantastic news. I'm honestly so pleased, I've got something in my eye.

Last night wasn't a concert....had it been is not be aching! Last night about 15 of us went on a pub crawl around the nearest little town. Met at the station at 6.45, got back to the car at 10.45, played in 6 pubs and outside 2 restaurants. Had so many fantastic moments.
-The happy chap in the packhorse who asked for "I'm forever blowing bubbles" when we asked for requests. He kept asking, so one of the corners played an impromptu version - much ribbing from happy chaps mates and a £20 in the bucket.
-The group of girls smoking outside a restaurant who got tearful at silent night and said we'd made their Christmas.
-The drunk chap standing in the tiny doorway of a pub asking if we had a euphonium - everyone pointed at me. Chap (short, round) didn't move from the doorway, and as I squeezed through my lyre and music got wedged in his groin. As the trombone player commented, I he wanted to meet a euph, I must have made his night!
-the car that shot into the layby outside the post office as we walked back up the high street at 10pm, and asked us for jingle bells for their little boy in the back
-the kids filming us from the upstairs windows above the Turkish restaurant
It was lovely, and I hope you all heard us from the bus.

Driving home for Christmas! Delighted for you Sea.

Reminds me of the first time DH came with me to my parents for Christmas. It's a few hours drive away and I explained to him it was my tradition to belt out the Chris Rea song whenever it came on the radio. To which he replied without thinking "what, the road to hell?"
