Sea that is fantastic news. I'm honestly so pleased, I've got something in my eye.
Last night wasn't a concert....had it been is not be aching! Last night about 15 of us went on a pub crawl around the nearest little town. Met at the station at 6.45, got back to the car at 10.45, played in 6 pubs and outside 2 restaurants. Had so many fantastic moments.
-The happy chap in the packhorse who asked for "I'm forever blowing bubbles" when we asked for requests. He kept asking, so one of the corners played an impromptu version - much ribbing from happy chaps mates and a £20 in the bucket.
-The group of girls smoking outside a restaurant who got tearful at silent night and said we'd made their Christmas.
-The drunk chap standing in the tiny doorway of a pub asking if we had a euphonium - everyone pointed at me. Chap (short, round) didn't move from the doorway, and as I squeezed through my lyre and music got wedged in his groin. As the trombone player commented, I he wanted to meet a euph, I must have made his night!
-the car that shot into the layby outside the post office as we walked back up the high street at 10pm, and asked us for jingle bells for their little boy in the back
-the kids filming us from the upstairs windows above the Turkish restaurant
It was lovely, and I hope you all heard us from the bus.
