Best concert you’ve been too.... and the worst.

Went to see years and years recently and my god were they amazing, literally the best I’ve ever heard live. Blue had to be the worst for me...
Just wanted to know peoples Experiences....

Best concert: The Breath at a festival a couple of summers ago. Her voice. Just so beautiful. There's a song called 'for you' and it gave me goosebumps.

Worst concert: not been to a bad one!

Lots of bests (INXS back in the day, Michael Jackson, Take That when Ribbie came back, Robbie (several times), Massive Attack) most unexpectedly good were Little Mix.

Worst was Jake Bugg but I really only went for dc1.

Next booked is Kaiser Chiefs - very excited about that

I’ve been to loads of great concerts , lows would have to be Billy Joel on what must have been a bad night ( we left early it was that bad) and the Vamps who were a support act at another concert .

Meat loaf about 30 years ago.
Was at a small venue in Hammersmith. He drove his Motorbike down through the auditorium as Bat out of Hell intro was played. It was spectacular!

Madonna at Wembley. She was soooo far away couldn't see her or see the screens. Sound was dreadful

Barenaked ladies put on a great show, but REM, Stirling castle, front row. That was truly memorable.
Small Belfast band called And So I Watch You From Afar. Seen them 3-4 times and they work hard for the crowd and creates an amazing atmosphere.

Worst: kings of Leon. Great music, but might as well stick a best hits on shuffle. No playing around with the songs or much talk really. Plus it was at Hyde park which I personally find a shit venue. Could be because I'm 5ft2 though.

Worst was Gary Glitter ! I was working in two places and thought it would be fun to get everyone together, so arranged for about 20people to go , then two weeks before the date the story came out that he was a nasty pervert! I had to go because some people wanted to go(!!!) and others wanted to see if I could sell on their tickets, fat chance.
It was a weird experience to say the least.

Best was Leonard Cohen. Omg. Or the Stones.

The 2 best I've been to (don't laugh) Alice Cooper who were supported by twisted sister, incredible stage shows and Elton John, no accompanying band just him and the piano

Worst was probably Ron Pope. Actually really put me off his album that I loved

I wish I could’ve seen Leonard Cohen live. What a songwriter

Best: Probably the Stones at Wembley way back. Stood up for 12 hours and didn’t wee for 18, couldn’t do it now. Also great: Depeche Mode. Every single time.

Worst: Robbie Williams. Don’t think he was at his most, erm, coherent. Left early and went to McDonalds and was home before it would have ended.

Guns n Roses with Faith no More and Soundgarden as supporting acts in Lisbon.
U2 (in Sydney)

The best was Bowie headlining Glastonbury in 2000. I'm a massive fan and it was amazing. I've asked for the newly released box set for Xmas. The worst was some god awful Britpop band at Glastonbury whose name escapes me. They were so dreadful the audience was throwing bottle of piss at them. And what made it worse was Keith Allen was sitting beside us watching them with a bunch of hangers on, and he is even more odious in real life than he is on the tv.

Too many excellent gigs to go through.

Worst was the Stone Roses at (I think) V Festival three or four years ago. Fuck me but Ian Brown just can't sing any more. The rest of the band were mint, but he was hopeless.

Best, well there's plenty - Black Sabbath on their farewell tour (which surprised me), Thunder, Reef, Basement Jaxx, loads.
Worst - AdamAnt at Silverstone, two songs and we'd had enough!

Worst: Magic Numbers - phoned it in, They looked so tired I thought they;d fall asleep mid-song. Maybe it was jet lag.
or Devon Townsend who spent the whole show complaining how hard it was to be on tour and how homesick he was and couldn't wait for it all to be over. I thought fair enough touring is hard but shut up and play for an hour since all these people spent £££ on tickets.

Best - Green Day at Brixton Academy.

Worst - probably Scissor Sisters at Birmingham Academy in 2010 which I hate to say as I loved them and had seen them several times before then. Most songs at that show were from an album that hadn’t been released at that point and the few oldies that they played had been messed around with to the point that they weren’t easily recognisable.

Best. REM the day after 7/7 and they walked to the front of the stage and made a speech about how London was coping and then launched into Everybody Hurts.
Worst was a then unknown James Blunt who supported an excellent Sir Elton John.
I was furious as The Scissor Sisters were the support for the rest of the tour. My exact words were "Who the bloody hell is James Blunt???"

Too many good to decide, worst was without a doubt Bob Dylan. I nodded off at one point. Zero interaction with the audience & only played songs nobody knew. The only Dylan song I recognized all night was sung by a busker on our way to the tube

Oddly, one of the best and probably the worst were both UB40 !
Best was when they were on the way up, at the Odeon, in Birmingham, but when I went to see them at the NEC many years later, they were dire. Didn't want to play their hits. Kept "introducing new artists" - I'd paid to see them, not an 'open mike' night.

Other great ones I've seen are Bruce Springstein at Villa Park

Best probably Frank black and the Catholics, shepherds Bush empire.

Don't think I have been to a bad gig, there was one support band where only one guy turnednyp, but that was pretty funny. I have been to plenty of gigs I where I was pretty bored. Getting drunk and people watching helps.

I was pretty disappointed by Radiohead, but tbf I was hungover and it was in an arena.

I absolutely love live music and concerts. Got to thank my older brother here as my first 3 concerts (when a young teen) were Queen, David Bowie, and then Rolling Stones. I didn’t really appreciate how lucky I was at the time.
My best (had to pick 2) :- George Michael - so full of hits that he had an interval in the middle. 😍
And... ACDC at Wembley. Just Wow!
My worst :- Guns and Roses - first concert was cancelled on the day, then they were 2.5 hours late for rebooked concert and Axel was off the stage more than he was on it and no encore. They made zero effort and just didn’t want to be there. 😳

Best - won a radio comp to see Wet Wet Wet - stood on side of stage. Had a kiss from Marti Pellow - think it was a sympathy peck because I had a scarf on ( going through chemo ) but I wish my 15 year old self could have seen it 😃
Worst - my friend was let down by another friend so I went with to see Level 42 - just not my sort of music.

Best
Iggy Pop - he played a charity gig at Wentworth Castle, v small crowd, we couldn't believe our luck, original band too. Could easily have got to the front (Iggy was doing his usual stripped to the waist, falling into the crowd, thing), unfortunately I was quite heavily pregnant so my husband had to tear me away from the mosh pit.
Also great:
The Fall. Mark E Smith only played an hour before flouncing off but by god it was one of the best hours of my life. What a band he had! (Reformation album)
Human League were great too although one of the girls couldn't sing a note, Phil O sounded great though.
The Black Keys were amazing.
Worst:
Ian Brown was absolute rubbish
