Went to see years and years recently and my god were they amazing, literally the best I’ve ever heard live. Blue had to be the worst for me...
Just wanted to know peoples Experiences....

Best definitely Green Day either at Brixton academy or at the o2, noise, energy atmosphere

Worst Bon Jovi at Twickenham we got last minute (very cheap) seated tickets and it was just too far away from the action, too quiet and no atmosphere - I’ve enjoyed seeing them at other times though

MintyCedric · 06/12/2018 00:59

Took DD (14) to Sunday of Brighton Pride this year - fantastic atmosphere and Nile Rogers and Chic headlining who were just incredible.

DD wasn't convinced about me dragging her to see a septugenaruan whose career was at his height before even I was born, but she's been begging me to book tickets for next year ever since.

Eminybob · 06/12/2018 01:01

Best Green Day at old Trafford cricket ground

Worst Red Hot Chilli Peppers at City of Manchester stadium or Snow Patrol at the MEN.

MrsTommyBanks · 06/12/2018 01:19

This

MrsTommyBanks · 06/12/2018 01:20

Sorry that was the best of many.
I always get moved by live music. Have never had a bad gig.

Sugarplumfairy65 · 06/12/2018 01:50

Best - James Blunt at Sheffield city hall
Worst - meatloaf at Sheffield arena about 10/11 years ago. The group had to carry him. It was a very disappointing concert

Sitranced · 06/12/2018 01:53

Best Underworld at Ally Pally. Crisp sound quality with perfect acoustics played really fucking loud with the best of my friends right at the front. Fucking loved that gig.

Worst Amy Winehouse Glasto. Unfortunatly it was during her drunk years and pretty much incoherent.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 06/12/2018 02:00

Best - Taylor swift. I know plenty of people dislike her, which I don't get, but she left me speechless. Also loved crowded house.

Worst- little mix and one direction

thighofrelief · 06/12/2018 02:00

Best - AC/DC, The Police and OMD all of them just worked so hard and non stop hits.

Worst - Paul Weller, The Stranglers and very sadly Van Morrison. I was very pissed at the VM one though so maybe it was that.

TanteRose · 06/12/2018 02:13

Best - Kate Bush, Before the Dawn - just out of this world!
oh and PJ Harvey - brilliant!

I saw Queen with Adam Lambert and they were really good too.

Worst - agree with PP, Bob Dylan. I'm not a fan but it was at Fuji Rock festival so I thought I should go and say that I'd seen him live, but it was just dire...Blush

agree too with OP - Years&Years are amazing live! again, saw them at Fuji Rock and they were fab. They are coming over here again for another live gig and I'm tempted to go.

I've not had many dud concerts actually!

Doublevodka · 06/12/2018 02:34

Best - Tina Turner. I wasn't a fan and someone gave me free tickets but oh my god she was amazing.
Worst - Beyonce and Jay z, absolute shite. They kept doing medleys, which I absolutely loathe. I just wanted Beyonce to sing a song from start to finish.

ragingstorm · 06/12/2018 02:53

I don't think I've ever been to a bad concert! Spice girls and vengaboyz were amazing last year! All take that tours are fab.

The best one has to be take that's the circus tour at the Etihad ground. We got pretty much right to the front and the show was amazing!

If I had to pick a bad one it would be meatloaf at Sheffield arena about 6 year ago as we had bad seats and he was quite clearly unwell! But I got to see my all the favourite song been performed live so I couldn't complain!!

ThistleAmore · 06/12/2018 02:58

Recent stand-outs include David Byrne, the Proclaimers, Bare Naked Ladies and a terrific modern folk band from Inverness called the Elephant Sessions (look them up on Spotify, you can thank me later).

Worst? Went to see Pulp about 20 years ago (who were terrific), but supported by Eels, who were so utterly terrible that they were bottled off stage. By a bunch of (pre-hipster) indie kids who had gone to see Pulp. That's how bad they were.

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 06/12/2018 03:20

Best. Queen at Maine road in the 80s. I was a little kid. My uncle lifted me onto his shoulders. We were clapping along to the intro to We Will rock you when I spotted myself on the big screen. I froze and my face was like this Shock. When I smiled and waved I got a cheer. It was an amazing gig.
Also good were Green Day at LCCC in Old Trafford.
Travis was the worst as they caused a fight to break out. It was at the Apollo in Ardwick Manchester. The gig was ok. Bog standard. Then as everyone was leaving the lead singer reappears on stage with a guitar and starts singing as if busking. Everyone goes quiet to hear him and people start shushing those who sing or clap along. People start getting irate at being told to stop clapping/singing and suddenly punches are thrown, people are falling and rather than leaving some arse holes start chanting fight! fight! fight! Fran is still singing at this point and can see what's going on. However he finishes his song and tells the crowd they were great. 😂

onepickleonefurryoneannoyance · 06/12/2018 18:34

I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and can’t really remember a bad one.

I’ve seen U2 nearly 20 times and they just get better and better. My best time with them was in 2015 at the O2 when Bono sang just for me (obviously)!

Every Coldplay concert I’ve been to has been amazing but their AHFOD gig, with the dancing lit-up wristbands at Wembley, was fantabulous. It was my DD’s first Coldplay gig and seeing her reaction was brilliant.

The worst I’ve ever seen were Kings of Leon. They can play live but they have zero audience interaction and the whole gig was so dull.

Music is therapy and is literally my lifeline every day Smile

Grumpbum123 · 06/12/2018 18:37

Best Mika or Muse
Worse Oasis

RavenLG · 06/12/2018 18:46

Best; King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard at Brixton O2 venue was brilliant. Been waiting to see them for years and they’re mine and DPs fave band.
Father John Misty at De Montfort Hall not so long ago purely for the light guy .. he was an artist himself one of the best lit gigs I’ve been to.
Worst: Marilyn Manson at download festival several years ago he was a fat sweaty mess, and stopped halfway through to get himself on an oxygen machine. He really shouldn’t have been there he didn’t seem like a well man and could barely get his words out.

Ofchris · 06/12/2018 20:05

Best: James - have seen them loads of times. Also the pixies and Morrissey.

Worst: morrissey at his most recent tour - completely pretentious wank. I was gutted as I really like him.

DoctorTwo · 06/12/2018 20:34

Can't remember any really bad gigs but amongst the best were:-

Living Colour, Civic Hall, 1991 on the Miracle Biscuit tour. IMO they should've been a massive band, and on that night they were perfect. And loud, the loudest band I've ever heard.

Newton Faulkner, The Feathers, circa 2002. His 1st solo gig and I knew he was going to be a star. He was brilliant.

Cake, Shepherds Bush Hall, 2004ish. Proof that we need more trumpet in pop. Going The Distance was amazing.

bobstersmum · 06/12/2018 20:37

Best, mumford and sons. Worst, bon Jovi, I could barely see them, it went on for too long and they didn't sing Always!

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 06/12/2018 20:39

Gary Barlow when he got me on stage to serenade me.
Worst - Let Loose who had about 2 songs to sing

wizzywig · 06/12/2018 20:41

Worst: pet shop boys and the who

Knowivedonewrong · 06/12/2018 20:43

One and only concert I've been to was John Newman. He was bloody amazing, and I hate, hate live music.

Moussemoose · 06/12/2018 20:51

Bruce Springsteen 3 hours + bloody brilliant.

Elderflower14 · 06/12/2018 20:52

Forgot to say A Great Big World at the Bush Hall were fantastic. We queued up at the end for autographs and they were so kind and lovely. Signed an autograph for me and signed a poster for me to give my goddaughter.
