Went to see years and years recently and my god were they amazing, literally the best I’ve ever heard live. Blue had to be the worst for me...
Just wanted to know peoples Experiences....

Best - Neil Young at Malahide Castle. Lovely atmosphere, gorgeous sunny day, sat and chilled on the grass with a lovely group of people, made friends with everyone around us, sipped wine and Neil was amazing. Also RHCP in Nijmegen. Got to hang out backstage and meet the band. Oh and any Damien Dempsey gig. Wasn't even remotely a fan until I was given free tickets so went along for something to do of a Saturday night. And he was amazing. He puts so much passion and energy into his gigs. I've seen him several times since and he's always been fantastic.

Worst - Bob Dylan. Zero crowd interaction. It was so flat, we might as well have stayed at home and listened to his music on CD. So disappointing.

PhaedrasChocolate · 07/12/2018 01:11

Best - The Decemberists last month in Manchester, Kate Bush Before The Dawn, and Chase & Status in 2013.

Don't think I've ever been to a crap gig, thankfully. Oh, Grandmaster Flash cancelled about 3 hours before the gig earlier in the year cos he missed his flight from Paris. Will never go and see him again.

LilMadAgain · 07/12/2018 01:20

I haven't been to many because I'm not a fan of live music but the following sucked:

50 cent (could have seen that coming)
Radiohead
The Misfits
Bat for Lashes
Billy Talent
Smashing Pumpkins
Nine inch Nails
I've forgotten the rest :s

Yabbers · 07/12/2018 07:49

I’ve seen many brilliant ones but O.M.D were unexpectedly good.

Worst was Bon Jovi’s last concert at the old Wembley Stadium. I’ve seen them about 5 or 6 times live and they’ve been brilliant. But the acoustics were so bad we could barely hear them.

thighofrelief · 07/12/2018 08:41

Yabbers OMD are brilliant live aren't they- did you see them recently? I saw them in the 80s.

shiveringtimber · 07/12/2018 09:51

Best concert: Eminem
Worst: Peter Gabriel

Greenteandchives · 07/12/2018 09:57

Best: Pink Floyd, early 70s, cooking a fry up on stage in between numbers.
Worst: Elton John.

GhostOfChristmasPresents · 07/12/2018 10:12

Quite surprised no-one has mentioned Radiohead at Glastonbury in 1997 as their best yet...

Miggeldy · 07/12/2018 10:40

Best - David Bowie
Worst - Prince

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 07/12/2018 10:45

@Ghostofchristmaspresents I was at Glasto in 97. We deliberately didn’t go to Radiohead because while I recognise their undeniable talent, I find them to be whiny joyless dementors, and IIRC the weather was providing enough misery.

TryItAndDieFatLass · 07/12/2018 20:34

I've seen a lot of varied artists from the 80s through to current day but the best for the whole performance was Panic At The Disco 2 years ago in Manchester. Such a showman and an incredible voice.

I've seen Level 42 5 times now but was a little disappointed with the last one

DaffoDeffo · 07/12/2018 20:39

Best
Lady gaga and only went because dd wanted to go. She was amazing

Worst
V few I haven't enjoyed! Had to take my sister to see Bros when we were kids and they were piss poor!

Weetabixandshreddies · 07/12/2018 20:40

Best - Meatloaf

Worst - Whitney Houston

donut93 · 07/12/2018 20:48

Best- Beyoncé
Worst- Justin Bieber

Fishandthechips · 07/12/2018 21:20

Best was The Revival Tour. (Different musicians doing stripped back acoustic versions of there own and each others songs). Wasnt expecting it to be so good but 6 years later its still the best ive ever been to.
My friend once convinced me to go see Jake Bugg as she loved him. You couldnt pay me to endure that again.

minkies11 · 07/12/2018 21:25

The Divine Comedy 1996 Shephards Bush. Still watch it on YouTube - one of the best nights ever!

Atalune · 07/12/2018 21:30

I used to live not far from the Barrowlands in Glasgow and have seen 100s of bands there. The best gigshave been

Bjork- she toured with Debut and I cried. She was incredible
Primal scream with screamadelica. They had lasers, it was maybe 1991/2 in a small venue in Ayr. It was spellbinding.
Massive Attack with dj shadow as the support. So good. So good!
Jamiroqui, OrbitL, Chemical Brothers, basement jaxx they have all been notably super!

Worst-
Ocean Color scene. Up their own arses

EffOrf · 07/12/2018 21:32

Best - Leonard Cohen

No worst but I know DH thought Bob Dylan was pretty bad though we are going to Hyde Park to see him and Neil Young next year and DH said I hope that Bob Dylan isn’t as bad as last time, though I enjoyed it

WrenNatsworthy · 07/12/2018 21:35

I have been to so many it's impossible to pick just one favourite,
Stand Out moments - Madonna at the O2 (I was near the front), Florence, Portishead, Faithless and Chemical Bros at Glastonbury.
Most disappointing was Oasis at Glastonbury, Liam was in a foul mood.

WrenNatsworthy · 07/12/2018 21:36

Oh! Depeche Mode at the Royal Albert Hall is probably my absolute favourite.

Wilma55 · 07/12/2018 21:37

Best: Bruce Springsteen Hyde Park

MissMarplesKnitting · 07/12/2018 21:39

Best: Elbow and Muse at Reading. What a top night. Athlete were great, saw them at a small gig. Foo Fighters....just brilliant. Loved loved loved it. Came home half deaf and hoarse for three days afterwards. Flogging Molly at Glastonbury. Never heard of them and not a band I'd pick up but a fantastic gig.

Worst: Oasis. Got dragged along by a boyfriend. Liam makes me want to punch him. Steps. Again, dragged along. Cringe.

ShesABelter · 07/12/2018 21:41

Liam Gallagher best. Bruno mars worst.

SpiritedFarAway · 07/12/2018 21:50

Best - nick cave last year, just amazing and his audience interaction was fascinating/moving.

Howtocatchastar · 07/12/2018 21:50

Best, we went to see Pendulum BUT it was they’d support act Hadouken who were amazing live. Never even heard of them before, but made our night - we still rave about how good they were 8/9 years later!

Worst - Cast. Saw them whilst a uni 20 years ago. Just awful & only on stage about 15 minutes.
