I’m up. When did you go in? Have you managed any sleep?

monal · 22/11/2018 04:39

I’m here. Flowers

ClaireElizabethBeauchampFraser · 22/11/2018 04:41

Thinking of you OP. I hope that they can stabilise you quickly. I know that it is frightening, don’t be afraid to buzz if you need anything.

EducatingSweary · 22/11/2018 04:41

you are not alone

Seafour · 22/11/2018 04:44

Sounds terrifying. Do you have anyone irl to be with you?

Cantchooseaname · 22/11/2018 04:50

Morning!!
Call them if you need help- it’s why they are there.
Hope they can stabilise you quickly.

Coldhandscoldheart · 22/11/2018 04:52

It’s also literally the worst time of the day, when you will be at your lowest ebb. So it will look better soon, not least because first daylight and then breakfast and tea.

Seafour · 22/11/2018 05:03

Was blue lighted yesterday around midday had been drifting in and out of consciousness with sats at 70% a respiration rate of 8 - 12 breaths per minute and a temperature of 34.2 and by of 90/54 finished my second course of antibiotics for respiratory infection on Monday and have been going downhill since then.

Spent the day in resus while they stabilised me and then went into HDU on industrial strength antibiotics for pneumonia.

Have been struggling to maintain sats above 80% despite ventilator and oxygen, about an hour and a half ago my ventilator failed and they were struggling to stabilise me again, didn't want to wake DH so I thought of you wonderful people.

That sounds really tough.
WhT time is your dp coming back?
It won’t be long until the world is awake.

Zoflorabore · 22/11/2018 05:12

Oh lovely that sounds tough.
Everything is a million times worse in the middle of the night.

There is always someone on here at any minute of the day or night so keep posting as you need to.
I am thinking of you xx

HopeIsNotAStrategy · 22/11/2018 05:13

I hope you're feeling a little bit better now.

As others have said, it will soon be light and things will feel a bit less strange. You're not alone, and there will be lots more mumsnetters around soon as well.

Allice · 22/11/2018 05:14

Goodness you poor thing, hope you get some rest soon

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 22/11/2018 05:14

Seafour · 22/11/2018 05:35

Sorry posted too soon

I'm now hooked up to a hospital ventilator and high flow oxygen instead of my own and numbers are looking better but the vein with my cannula in has blown and they are digging around for another one.

Whoops, I've just projectile vomited and managed to fill a bowl, as well as cover the floor, shit I feel grim but at least a nurse got the ventilator mask off before I was sick.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 22/11/2018 05:37

Oh dear. You poor soul. Really hope you get better quick.

Seafour · 22/11/2018 05:53

Right now I'm grateful for, the Doppler that found a new vein, one nurse to two patients policy in HDU, the suction system and the lovely HCA's who are so bloody awesome at cleaning up bodily fluids.

guiltynetter · 22/11/2018 05:53

you sound so poorly, how are you msnaging to post?! i hope you feel better soon :(

Seafour · 22/11/2018 05:57

Posting is a distraction from thinking about the "what if's" and I have huge anxiety about going to sleep when I'm this poorly in case I don't wake up.

2015newstart · 22/11/2018 06:33

Hope you feel better soon OP. You're in the best possible place; it sounds like they are taking good care of you.

Will your DH be able to visit this morning?

Rainbowqueeen · 22/11/2018 06:38

Hand holding here too. Sounds like you are having a rough time

Hope things improve soon

I will check in again in a hour so keep posting if you are able

ContessaHallelujahSparklehorse · 22/11/2018 06:41

Oh OP, I'm sorry - that sounds awful. You're in the best place you could be though. Is this the first time you've been in the HDU?

Thewheelsarefallingoff · 22/11/2018 06:42

Thinking of you, op x

anniehm · 22/11/2018 06:43
