So sorry to hear you're in so much pain, I hope you're sleeping well and have a better day when you wake up

I'm wide awake eating weetabix (thanks to the steroids!) and I'm back in hospital tomorrow to either get my kidney stents changed or get nephrostomy tubes fitted depending on how bad my kidneys are so I can't sleep as I'm not looking forward to it but in the grand scheme of things it's nothing to what your going through so I'm trying to keep that in mind and be grateful that it could be worse

I'm loving the animal photos. Sea do you have a photo of your tortoise?

Izzy24 · 12/12/2018 05:44

Hi @Seafour,

Three steps forward, two steps backwards but still going in the right direction- you can do this.

I hope you’ve managed a little sleep by now. It is truly darkest just before the dawn but hopefully the sun is on it’s way before too long.

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 12/12/2018 05:56

I'm in the Midlands!? Where are you? I can always bring a real life bus if your in the right bit of the Midlands x

2018SoFarSoGreat · 12/12/2018 06:09

Here's Ms Daisy, who has had quite a week herself. Impacted anal glands resulting in an abcess. She feels better now it's all treated and the pain meds and antibiotics made a big difference.

Her best friends are Slipper and Ellie.

Hope you are having a good night Sea.

Oh seafour poor you, you had a really shitty day yesterday. Hoping today is better for you.

Roystonv · 12/12/2018 06:18

Oh dear so sorry to hear the rough time you are going through after things were going 'well'. Damned protocol, you are special to us all so you need special protocols, tell them we say so. Hope you are a bit more comfy and that as the day starts you can speak to your experts and get them working with you today. No news here to cheer you up but I will witter on a bit. Our old rottie cross has a uti but caught it early so on meds but has meant a few puddles, luckily on lino. My Dh is a member of Rotary and this week they are doing their annual Santa's sleigh run round the residential streets of our market town collecting money for a hydrotherapy pool for the local sen school. My dh is the youngest at 65; so sad they really need some new members as they do such good work. This year I am trying to read only Christmas books in the run up to the big day so have a Christmas Agatha Raisin on the go then looking forward to Christmas at Cold Comfort Farm. Also doing snowy jigsaws. Bless you, will be back later.

justasyouare · 12/12/2018 06:42

So sorry you’re having a rough time. I went to bed mega early last night so I missed your updates.
You will get through this horrible bit. It’s awful right now but just think of the things you’ve been through. It’s a blip... a painful and horrible one but you will be ok. I second the notion of speaking to everyone you can, or getting DH or your fabulous PA to do so on your behalf.
I’m back to work today so I can’t check in as much but il will be thinking of you today.
I’m too far away to visit and in my current state am unable to manage a long journey, but please remember the amount of people on here who genuinely care about you.

I hope today is a better day

MintyT · 12/12/2018 07:30

Oh dear Sea, I hope today is a better day for you. I hope today is a better day for everyone, stay strong sending get well wishes to you

MarieVanGoethem · 12/12/2018 08:08

Getting to Midlands is not something Ridiculous Body is on for, even if could wiggle timingthings. And, er, moneythings. Really hope there’s someone[s] from the bus who can get in to visit you: I know what a huge difference it makes.

Mes chattons send you distance!snuggles - also lots of purrs, to help you get better faster (see infographic attached).

Hope that you were able to sleep.

Oh, um, I hope you don’t mind SeaFour, but here seemed like a good place to ask people: QMUL & Bart’s are basically in a competition to get funding for research into Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (which, as previously discussed, SeaFour & I both have); and if people could-would vote for them you could hopefully-maybe be part of making a huge difference to people who basically get a routine kicking from their own bodies & quite often don’t get diagnosed until they have some pretty nasty - often permanent - damage to bits of their bodies. The dangerous misconception that hEDS is “just being a bit bendy” does seem to be dying out, but it’s still REALLY under-researched AND there’s a lack of specialists (plus the NHS doesn’t recognise the need for ongoing for physio, which isn’t great if you can’t afford to go private).

I'm in the Midlands too - which bit are you?

JustLurkingAway · 12/12/2018 08:14

Hello Seafour, sorry I have neglected your thread a bit! I hope you're doing wellThanks (forgive me, I haven't read your posts from the last few days yet)

JustLurkingAway · 12/12/2018 08:14

I too am in the Midlands though!

CrookedMe · 12/12/2018 08:26

Hoping for a better day for you today Seafour

InflagranteDelicto · 12/12/2018 08:31

❤️Seafour, I hope you're night was tolerable. I'll send you hugs from a distance though, this lurgy has settled in my chest and you so don't want my germs. Upright looked awesome though.

Congrats Gruber, massive congrats

, yes it was the two light pink UMAs. We began by looking at a selection of tools liberated from the man cave and discussing their uses - hammer for bopping a sister on the head when they're annoying..... 😀
Then they screwed screws into apples, and bashed nails into wood before using wool to create pictures. Last night was room in a box. Basically you empty all the crap from your cupboard and let them loose, before binning the remains😂 One of my lovely Brownies finished her baking badge last night. We like the baking badge. We get to eat cake!

I'm not close enough to visit, but will send a card if you'd like some nice post.

Gramgram · 12/12/2018 08:36

So sorry you have been in pain. Hopefully you'll have a better day today.

Clear blue sky here and the birds are munching on the fat balls on the bird feeder, can you see out of a window and let us know what you can see?

Crownandheelshigh · 12/12/2018 08:48

Hope u have a better day today @Seafour.

I'm in midlands too, where abouts are you?

Xx

gruber · 12/12/2018 09:43

Oh @Seafour, I’m sorry to hear you’re in pain. You have my sympathy. Hopefully you managed some bursts of sleep last night.

I am enjoying the hell that is a shared post natal ward with 4 different babies, all on different schedules, all waking through the night. I did not sleep much although I have to say they are very good at keeping on top of my pain relief.
I had an extra complication when the dr said I needed IV antibiotics, got infected c section wound. I had to be re-cannulated (after it taking 3 tries the first time), and it was even harder this time because I’ve lost so much blood my veins have vanished. That was a fun 5 minutes. Anyway, I had the cannula in, then they hook me up to a bag... trying to feed and holding a baby with cannula and drip in one arm is difficult- then I had to go to the loo by myself with baby, drip stand...

However, if doctors agree and if all my observations stay within range, and if I can get my 3rd dose of oral antibiotics in, I might be allowed home later today...

gruber · 12/12/2018 09:45

Sorry @Seafour that was a very all about me post! Hope everybody else is doing ok today. Would love a cup of tea if someone pops the kettle on, stuck under a feeding baby... Here’s a photo for you to coo over

Grrrr, I just typed a lovely long post to you sea and then managed to delete it by pressing the wrong button. Back in a bit. Gentle hugs for you BrewFlowers

bexcee · 12/12/2018 10:14

How you doing this morning @Seafour?

bexcee · 12/12/2018 10:15

Aw welcome to the world baby @gruber you are adorable! It's a long time since I held a newborn (mine are all teenagers now) would love a cuddle! Hope they can get your meds sorted so you can get home for some rest.

FuckBrussel · 12/12/2018 10:17

Oh, Seafour, I've only just read your post - I'm so sorry you had such a crap day. I hope everything is looking and feeling better today - remember, this too shall pass.

Lovely cold crisp day here, with lots of birds (mostly starlings and sparrows) on the feeder.

Actually, that's given me an idea - what do other posters think about posting a picture of what they can see out of their nearest window to give Sea a variety of views to look at?

I'll put mine in my next post because I'm a numpty, am posting on my laptop and have no idea how to attach a photo taken with my phone... and have no idea how

FuckBrussel · 12/12/2018 10:24

...And have no idea how to proofread either, apparently. Confused

Starlings on the feeder (sorry about the reflections)

@Gruber kettle is on love, can I hold the baby whilst you have a shower or anything? (Weve installed a beautiful bathroom!)

SandunesAndRainclouds · 12/12/2018 11:44

Brrrrr bloody chilly out there this morning. Put the kettle on!

Keep your chin up Sea.
