I still struggle with David Bowie dying when he did , he had just brought out a new album and thought all was well . He and Pink Floyd were my childhood music .
Also Freddy Mercury, just feel so sad that such a talented and versatile man died too young when now people with aids live long happy lives .
People I have never met but feel so much sadness that they have gone .

I saw the thread title and was coming to post, david bowie, i still have trouble believing he is dead.

AnyFucker · 09/11/2018 15:25

James Bulger.

PhaedrasChocolate · 09/11/2018 15:25

There are two that have affected me in recent years. George Michael and Victoria Wood. Both heroes of mine, and both gone far too soon.

I still feel sad listening to or watching either of them.

CollaterlieSistersSister · 09/11/2018 15:25

Rik Mayall.

I get an overwhelming sadness when I remember he died.

JanetLovesJason · 09/11/2018 15:26

Paul Newman. My mum had just died and they had the same blue eyes.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 09/11/2018 15:26

Oh same OP. Can't get my head around Bowie, and remember crying buckets when Freddie Mercury died

AnyFucker · 09/11/2018 15:26

Sorry. Just noticed the title said "famous" people.

SAMlady · 09/11/2018 15:26

Rio Ferdinand's wife, leaving her children so young.

Careofcell44 · 09/11/2018 15:27

David Bowie and Robin Williams.

Hedgehogblues · 09/11/2018 15:27

Leonard Cohen. I'm not really the right demographic for him but I've been listening to him since I was thirteen and his work got me through a lot of really shitty times. He had so much talent

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 09/11/2018 15:27

Prince.

Still really struggle with accidentally hearing his music, had to walk out of a bar to make a pretendy phone call recently when Purple Rain came on. It makes me feel really silly though.

MamaLovesMango · 09/11/2018 15:28

Robin Williams.

I’m a hard nosed old crone but I sobbed when the news came through he had died.

HollowTalk · 09/11/2018 15:28

But did David Bowie think all was well? He had liver cancer. Wasn't it just that we didn't know he was ill?

That was a terrible year, wasn't it? I can't believe the number of famous people who died then.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 09/11/2018 15:31

Prince's death knocked me sideways. Quite unusual for me to cry over a celebrity but I did when I heard the news.

Babdoc · 09/11/2018 15:32

Leonard Nimoy. I’ve had a massive crush on Mr Spock for the past 50 years, and was really sad when the actor, who had portrayed him so brilliantly, died.

Varmints · 09/11/2018 15:32

George Michael Sad

Alan Rickman Sad

Time40 · 09/11/2018 15:32

Freddie. I still haven't got over his death.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/11/2018 15:33

Bowie and Carrie Fisher. I still get a bit teary when I see pictures of Carrie (and cried while watching the new Star Wars films).

poppy196 · 09/11/2018 15:33

@Samcro so glad I'm not alone , thought he would live forever.
Don't know why but his death has made more of an impact on me than any other . Such a clever talented man I love watching on YouTube him and Arcade fire , filmed a few years ago but Christ such great vocals and looked so handsome .RIP Starman

Weirdly, Micheal Jackson of all people. No idea why but it really hit me for about 24 hours. I didn’t even really like him that much!

Heath Ledger was a big one, properly sobbed at that.

Alan Rickman. 2016 was brutal

feralfanny · 09/11/2018 15:34

Bowie. I actually cried.
Still makes me sad when I hear him now tobthink that he is gone.
And George Michael too - he was such a lovely man.
:(

Greensleeves · 09/11/2018 15:35

Alan Rickman. I cried buckets. I was a bit unbalanced at the time anyway and posted memes of him as Snape, with the caption "Always". I think my friends and family thought I was losing it Blush

CarrieBlu · 09/11/2018 15:36

Alan Rickman. What an actor!

greendale17 · 09/11/2018 15:36

No one. I can’t cry for people I never ever knew.

Snowdrifthill · 09/11/2018 15:37

Amy Winehouse and Steve Irwin, both really upset me .
