A few of you may have had a DH/DP since then. Wink

Not me, quite. But it struck me last night that my favourite fluffy Christy bath towel is now 20 yrs old.

So is a watch I wear every day that my parents bought me.

A couple of baking trays too.

They've stood the test of time.

Can you tell me what I need to add to my indestructible domestic list?

Many thanks.

My big mason cash mixing bowl and my band recipe book filled with be-ro recipes which never fail

YouTheCat · 04/11/2018 19:18

I've got a nut cracker that was my Gran's. It's at least 70 years old.

The exh has got my parents' old microwave. They got that in 1986. So still working after 32 years.

Grumpbum123 · 04/11/2018 19:18

Nan’s

StillNumb · 04/11/2018 19:18

I've got a clock radio which is older than my DD, and she is nearer to 30 and 20. I think it's a sony cube, and it's going strong

Optimist1 · 04/11/2018 19:20

My ironing board. It's had an easy life, though! Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/11/2018 19:20

A Babyliss Bigshot hairdryer
A dressing gown
Microwave
Most more than 20 years old.
Amongst other things

Pascha · 04/11/2018 19:20

My mum's old curling iron from the 60s. The plug is the old-style round 3-pin and Mum still has one socket left which it fits. Not sure I'd want to leave it switched on for long though.

StillNumb · 04/11/2018 19:21

I've just googled the Sony Cube, and I think they cost around the same as mine did almost 30 years ago!

Goneroundthetwist · 04/11/2018 19:22

I came on to say I had a Sony cube which is 25 years old and still going strong... I’ve had another clock radio in between that died after 2 years, so I went back to the old reliable Sony cube!!

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 04/11/2018 19:22

Lots of things

  • Sony clock/radio/alarm is around 30
  • Remington travel hair dryer at least 20
  • Kenwood electric whisk
  • Various kitchen implements, cake tins etc
NC4Now · 04/11/2018 19:23

My tumble dryer is 20 years old.

99RedBalloonsFloating · 04/11/2018 19:23

some woolly jumpers knitted by my grandmother.

MatildaTheCat · 04/11/2018 19:24

Loads of stuff. Married 29years and wedding gifts still working include food processor, electric carving knife, electric whisk. I’ve got dishes and glasses etc from various dead grandparents and a complete set of wedding china.

Also a kettle in our room which cost £3 from Asda and has lasted at least 15 years so far. Boiled thousands and thousands of times!

bluebrushes · 04/11/2018 19:25

'Sharp' solar powered calculator--over 30 years old

TheBitterBoy · 04/11/2018 19:25

My clock radio is over 20 years old, I have just realised! Also a sony cube - they were clearly built to last. Still feels new and modern to me because I was so excited to get one where I could programme more than one station.

I also have an egg boiler that was my nan's that I use at least twice a month, and an electric whisk that was my grans, that she got from my great auntie.

SheSnapsThenSheFarts · 04/11/2018 19:25

Another one with a Sony cube here!! Something tells me they were built to last. Mine is 25 years old

Frouby · 04/11/2018 19:26

A Nike rucksack. It was my gym bag 20 odd years ago.

I think that says more about my fitness levels than the durability of the bag 😂😂😂

CherLooksYoungerThanMe · 04/11/2018 19:26

I've got a few pairs of M&S pants that I realised the other week were the nice ones I treated myself to with my first pay packet. That was 19 years ago.

safariboot · 04/11/2018 19:27

My favourite bath towel is older than me and feels like it was bought yesterday.

I think my childhood Gameboy still works.

Stormwhale · 04/11/2018 19:27

Some pine furniture. The beaureau and bedside tables are still going strong. The dressing table gave up last year after being damaged a few times when moving house. The headboard from the set was on dds bed until a month ago when we bought her a midsleeper. It was still in perfect condition.

Dd also has some of my cuddly toys and babies from when I was little which are still in really good nick.

QueenofLouisiana · 04/11/2018 19:28

Cookery books that taught me to bake 35 years ago.

Kenwood food processor bought when I got engaged, nearly 22 years ago.

Bathroom suite- older than me!

River Island T-shirt bought when I was 15, so 27 years ago.

Oldraver · 04/11/2018 19:28

Sony clock radio, bought as it matched the bedroom and had two alarms over 23 years old

Hotpoint dishwasher bought December 1992

My swimming towel...an M+S second bought in 1979

Fridge freezer is 20 years old, the same as the house

A couple of years ago I finally got rid of our amplifier/cd player that were bought in 1977/1992. We still have speakers bought in 1977.

Oh and I have a car on the garden that was built 5th December 1999, technically it could still 'go'

Doonewanker · 04/11/2018 19:29

This is brilliant! Thanks! Never even heard of a Sony Cube!!
