A few of you may have had a DH/DP since then. Wink

Not me, quite. But it struck me last night that my favourite fluffy Christy bath towel is now 20 yrs old.

So is a watch I wear every day that my parents bought me.

A couple of baking trays too.

They've stood the test of time.

Can you tell me what I need to add to my indestructible domestic list?

Many thanks.

Mine isn't a cube, I wanted a cube but my dad got me the dream machine as he claimed it was better. Although it does seem to have lasted as well as the cubes!

I have a fish slice that my mum brought home from the jumble sale for me to take to university 18 years ago. It already looked very, very second hand but it's still fine. (Old fashioned, wooden handle type. Obviously made to last!)

A desk lamp that I've had since I was about 8. So maybe 30 years old.

I still have my desk from when I was a child. When DD is a bit older & starts getting homework she can have it. Proper solid wood - could do with a bit of sanding on the top though. I wasn't exactly careful with the felt tips...

I recently retired my wristwatch - not because it doesn't work (it works fine) but because I fancied a change. And because my horrible ex bought it for me... have been with DH nearly 15 years. I should probably get the battery removed before I put it away, just in case I want it again.

I have my grandmother's knitting & crochet needles. Some of them are 50 years old. And a full set of knitting /craft magazines from the 70s. My goodness, some of the patterns! ShockGrin

My radio alarm clock. I don’t use it for an alarm, but I remember buying it for myself when I was around 16. It has a CD player built in too!

I also have a towel I pinched when I left home for uni which must be about the same age.

Casio scientific calculator: now 38 years old and still going strong.

For those with old microwaves have you had them tested? They test them in workplaces due to OH&S and after a while they ‘leak’ and once it gets to a certain level they must be chucked and replaced. They generally not that old when they need to be replaced and work fine apart from the safety aspect (supposedly).

I've got a terracotta casserole dish with a lid, which was a wedding present 24 years ago. It's one of those ones that looks as though it will crack quite easily, but we've used it loads and it is still absolutely fine.

I also have a complete set of Royal Doulton Windermere china. I have no idea how old it is, but is more than 20 years.

My loo brush, honestly.

Most of our kitchen utensils are probably that old (if not older). I do regret that I no longer have my super old-fashioned tin opener (not sure what happened to it) - it was the bees knees!
