Went to see this last night and just wow. Don't think I've ever say through a movie that gave me chills quite like that did.
Would love to know how they time travelled Brian May and John Deacon for this because they were outstandingly good.

Anyone else seen it and loved it?

Went to the premiere at Wembley. Amazing atmosphere.

It is the most beautiful film.

AnonaMouse1 · 25/10/2018 12:21

Really looking forward to it now

Got goosebumps just from the trailer

GlassOuijan · 25/10/2018 12:23

Haven't seen it but looking forward to it!

jmh740 · 25/10/2018 12:29

Loved it oh wasn't well yesterday so ended up taking dd 11, I criedloads and we've spent most of today listening to queen music

AnonaMouse1 · 25/10/2018 12:31

My ds is 10 and would quite like to see it

It's 12A so assume suitable? But I've told him it's not the greatest showman or much like it! He loved that

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 25/10/2018 12:33

God I really wanna see it but it doesn't come out until Nov 1 here across the pond

Love Freddie

SistersOfHearsey · 25/10/2018 13:33

Wouldn't have a problem with a ten year old watching it. Whoever cast that movie deserves an Oscar

Villanelle123 · 25/10/2018 13:40

Absolutely adored it!

Dowser · 25/10/2018 14:27

Hoping to go tonight
Love Freddie
I’m not going to read the rest of the thread 😂

iklboogiemanunderthebed · 25/10/2018 14:32

Going next week. Really looking forward to it.

Babybearsporij · 25/10/2018 14:34

I'm going on Saturday. Getting excited now.

Dychmygol · 25/10/2018 14:43

I'm so glad you've said it's OK for a child to watch. 11 year old DD is just as desperate to see it as me but wasn't sure if I needed to watch it first then go together.

SistersOfHearsey · 25/10/2018 14:51

Can't really spoiler it can you? 😂

I guess the only bit you might have to explain is Freddie kissing a male partner and his confusion over sexuality but if you know of Freddie you know of his flamboyance so none of this would be a shock.

It wont spoil it to say look out for Kenny Everett. Another chills moment!

I'm desperate to see this and 11 year old DS is currently obsessed with Freddie so glad to see it's a 12a.

Ni58 · 25/10/2018 15:38

Absolutely loved it! We had seats near the front so the screen felt huge and the music was really loud. The Live Aid bit was brilliant! I found the whole film really interesting! Might go and watch it again in a few weeks!

Dychmygol · 25/10/2018 16:43

but if you know of Freddie you know of his flamboyance so none of this would be a shock.

This is why I thought it might be wise to watch it first. I'd prefer to not have to explain his more 'free' behaviour when hosting parties with nakedness and specific people groups.

But if that sort of stuff is glossed over I might just risk taking her and we just watch it together.

OhFlipMama · 25/10/2018 16:48

Oh I can't wait! I was considering taking my 10 year old but wasn't sure how much sexual stuff would be in it! Good to know it's a 12A.

Dumbledoresgirl · 25/10/2018 16:49

Oh god, I really want to see this. I have loved Freddie and Queen since the 70s. Trouble is, dh is long term unemployed and we are living off savings so ordinarily I would forgo the pleasure as it is money we don't need to spend. But, I got a part time job today..... someone please tell me I won't regret blowing my first wage packet on cinema tickets! How long do you all think the film will stay in the cinema? Maybe I should wait for a week or two and pray for a miracle with dh's job situation.

SistersOfHearsey · 25/10/2018 16:51

Not glossed over @Dychmygol but not in your face really, you see the parties but mostly from the pov that despite being surrounded by people he's lonely rather than debauchery. No nudity and the US tour where he was sleeping with people on the road was done very much with a nod to it rather than actually showing it.

Need the DVD now.

I read a really scathing review on the Guardian but I'm still going to see it. I have been so excited since Sacha Baron Cohen was supposed to be Freddie.

Kezzie200 · 25/10/2018 16:52

Our vue charge 4.99 - well, their email says so, have you a vue close by that you can check this offer out?

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 25/10/2018 16:56

Sisters referencing your last post that was something mentioned in the review. I think they were expecting an extreme warts n all biopic and it didn't quite match their expectations with it being a 12a. Grin It didn't show people doing line after line. Just showed them going "Ooh I'm a bit high after all that fun!" (I paraphrased that bit)

SistersOfHearsey · 25/10/2018 16:57

@Dumbledoresgirl you wont regret it. Personally I'd have stayed for the next screening and watched it again!

Flowers hope things improve for you soon

@CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese currently 8.6 on IMDB. I think it helps if you're a Queen fan and of a certain age too.
