How many teeth have you got?

Just that really. I do mean teeth of your own. I’m having an extraction tomorrow and will be left with 25 teeth. 12 top, 13 bottom. Seems enough to me, what do you think?

26 - had 6 taken out due to overcrowding.
If all of ds's come through ( not wisdom age yet) he will have 33 because he has an extra one.

Sproutpie · 30/09/2018 18:46

25 doesn’t seem to bad at all. Thanks for your replies 😊

  1. Two wisdom teeth never came through, and the two they should've matched with eventually started giving issues (nothing to bite against!) so I had them out. Still got all the rest but some are certainly teetering on the brink with more filling than tooth.

I'm 54 btw if that matters! Not too bad I guess tho I hope my DC do better with greater knowledge about dental care.

4 extractions when younger for over crowding, and all 4 wisdoms out.

Defender90 · 30/09/2018 18:54

14 top and 15 bottom (have had 3 wisdom teeth removed)

LinoleumBlownapart · 30/09/2018 18:55

31, had one wisdom tooth removed.

snowone · 30/09/2018 18:58

32 - and thankfully only 2 fillings. I do have really small teeth though....randomly!! Grin

NerrSnerr · 30/09/2018 18:59

I have 29. Two wisdom teeth haven't come through and I have had one removed.

Cheeseplantandpickle · 30/09/2018 19:00

24

Sallygoroundthemoon · 30/09/2018 19:00
  1. No fillings.
OrcinusOrca · 30/09/2018 19:03

14 top and 14 bottom. Technically I suppose 16 and 16 but my wisdoms haven't appeared.

Aragog · 30/09/2018 19:04

13 at the bottom and the top - so 26.

I've never had any extractions, or fillings for that matter, since being a teen and having some removed for a brace.

I don't think I have any wisdom teeth Confused

GreyHare · 30/09/2018 19:06

8 on top 14 on bottom, but I have a lovely partial replacing the missing top ones.

NotMyCircusMonkeys · 30/09/2018 19:09

28 (I've just counted - 14 top and bottom!). One of which is a baby tooth because apparently there is no adult tooth under it to come through.

I haven't had any wisdom teeth come through and according to my dentist (they did x-rays last time I was there) I don't have any at the top anyway, so the maximum I could end up with is 30.

Joinourclub · 30/09/2018 19:10
  1. 4 out as a child to prevent overcrowding and wonkiness. 1 extraction after a filling fell out and the tooth crumbled.

I have recurring nightmares where all my teeth fall out :(

MrsRubyMonday · 30/09/2018 19:10

@SocksRock not everyone has all four wisdom teeth. I only have three, none have erupted but x-rays have shown that one hasn't formed in the lower jaw and just isn't there. Dentist told me it's not unusual. The other one is painful sometimes so I'm quite glad to be honest.

Ignoring the three unerupted wisdom teeth, I have 13 at the top and 12 on the bottom. One extracted from the top as it grew out of my gum sideways rather than straight down so wasn't biting anything. And then a molar out at the bottom on each side to ease overcrowding and allow braces to work. I have a very small gap at the bottom on each side, doesn't affect my bite, can't even fit my tongue in them. No gap at the top as the tooth never moved down.

MaryBoBary · 30/09/2018 19:13

Well I’m now slightly concerned - I have 24 proper teeth and 1 part grown wisdom tooth... but never had any removed!

How many are you supposed to have?!?

Don’t be concerned OP, I can tell you that 24 is plenty.

NoParticularPattern · 30/09/2018 19:14

I have 28. 14 top, 14 bottom. I have no wisdom teeth on the bottom (not removed, they just never came through and aren’t even visible on X-ray) and I had two removed on the top for braces. Interestingly the ones they removed were bicuspids but they didn’t remove the same one each side. So I only have one bicuspid a-side on the top and they don’t match each other.

DiscoDown · 30/09/2018 19:14

29 :- 3 premolars removed because of over crowding, but I do have all of my wisdom teeth, although one is only partly erupted. So maybe it's 28 and a half?! I think I could've done with an extra tooth out on the bottom as they are quite wonky, my top teeth are fairly straight though. And you can't see my bottom teeth usually because of the way I smile.

lucysmam · 30/09/2018 19:16

I have 32.

I did have to count them though!

FabulousTomatoes · 30/09/2018 19:16
  1. I was born with no wisdom teeth so have a full set 😬
Duvetdweller · 30/09/2018 19:16

28 at the moment but fluctuate between 28 and 30 because a couple of wisdom teeth seem to grow and retract and it’s really quite annoying

leighdinglady · 30/09/2018 19:16

That doesn't sound like very many?! I have 32. Where have hey all gone?

NC4Now · 30/09/2018 19:19

I’ve only got 24. Four out for overcrowding, all four wisdom teeth out.

BestIsWest · 30/09/2018 19:19
  1. Had 4 back ones removed as a teenager because there wasn’t enough room. I’ve never been convinced this was wise.
