How many teeth have you got?

Just that really. I do mean teeth of your own. I’m having an extraction tomorrow and will be left with 25 teeth. 12 top, 13 bottom. Seems enough to me, what do you think?

  1. Several removed as a child for overcrowding as well as a very impacted wisdom tooth.
MissTulipan · 30/09/2018 22:01

24, I had a few removed for braces in teens as overcrowded. No gaps.

VioletCharlotte · 30/09/2018 22:04

This is something I've never thought out about before! Just had a count up and I have 30. 16 on the bottom and 14 on top

29-top 2 wisdom teeth removed when I was 20. One top incisor cleanly knocked out when I fell off my bike aged 7-I do have a bridge rather than a huge gap.

DramaAlpaca · 30/09/2018 22:13

I have 28.

I had my four back molars out when I was 11 before I got my braces fitted. It meant there was room for my wisdom teeth to come through.

My dentist tells me I have very good teeth

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 30/09/2018 22:15

2 upper wisdom teeth removed, 1 tooth knocked by a hockey stick.

LifeofClimb · 30/09/2018 23:57

So only Miljah has as many / more than me 😁

EBearhug · 01/10/2018 00:15
  1. I have all 4 wisdoms, but the teeth behind my top incisors were removed when I was about 12 to make space. I have small gaps there, but not enough space for a whole tooth. My bottom teeth are a bit crowded because they didn't do the same on the bottom.

My top wisdoms came through in about 6 weeks not too long before finals I remember thinking, "I understand why babies cry when they are teething." They've been problem-free since they came up, though. The bottom ones took years, partially erupted, then going back under the gumline for a few months, then coming up through the gum again. I still have to be careful with seedy fruit, as it's easy to get things caught in them and to get an infection again.

SoleBizzz · 01/10/2018 00:18

15 upper
16 bottom

No teeth removed, no fillings etc

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 01/10/2018 00:23

12 top 12 bottom. Had four extracted for braces as a teen and my wisdom teeth have never come through. Dentist says they’re there but I’ll be 36 tomorrow so unlikely to erupt now!

AornisHades · 01/10/2018 00:25
  1. 2 as a teen for overcrowding and all 4 wisdom teeth as they came out at odd angles. I really should have had another 2 or more out for overcrowding as my lower jaw is a mess.
April241 · 01/10/2018 00:26

3 wisdom have never come in, 1 wisdom is partially through and I’ve had 1 extraction

PoshPenny · 01/10/2018 00:26

25 teeth

12 on top row
13 on bottom row

All 4 wisdom teeth removed, 1 of front lower teeth removed (it broke and had been crowned, then removed to make space for braces to fix the overcrowding of my lower teeth. 2 adult teeth removed as a child which resolved the upper teeth overcrowding without a brace being needed. No gaps.

torthecatlady · 01/10/2018 00:28
  1. Still waiting for 1 wisdom to make an appearance and had 1 wisdom removed.
LustyBusty · 01/10/2018 00:28

I'm a 24 too. 4 teeth (number 4 I think?) removed as a kid due to overcrowding (and my lower jaw is still overcrowded!) and all 4 wisdom teeth removed fairly recently.

CatOwned · 01/10/2018 00:33
  1. Counted to be sure. 1 Wisdom tooth extracted earlier this year due to lack of space.
CoughArghCoughArghCough · 01/10/2018 00:41

I can't figure out the maths of my teeth Confused
So, the norm is 32, including wisdom teeth.
I have 27.
4 taken out when I was a teenager due to overcrowding, 1 at very back removed after numerous root canals failed to remove infection, one other at very back on the other side broke after a filling so I'm left with a stump. 1 wisdom tooth has come down, 3 others still hiding.

27 now + 2 (lost as an adult) + 4 (removed as a teenager) + 3 wisdom teeth that I didn't count because they haven't come down = 36? That can't be right. Am I even human? Or just shit at maths? Grin

Easytobuild · 01/10/2018 01:05

@Miljah - I had 34 till the other week! I also have a rare double amount of wisdom teeth mine are at the top so I have 18 teeth at the top!

I had 16 on the bottom making 34 but I have just had one of the bottom wisdom removed so 15 as couldn't stand the pain.

so have 33 teeth currently but I have 2 hairline cracks like fractures in my front teeth can't see them without light but its nerve racking (do not bite labels off clothing / open packets with your teeth) I have numerous filings in all sorts of colours so although not many missing not the best condition!

BumDisease · 01/10/2018 01:14

All of them.

Tangfastics · 01/10/2018 02:02
  1. 2 wisdom teeth removed and 2 didn't come through.
Dhalandchips · 01/10/2018 02:26
  1. 12 top, 14 bottom. Had massive overcrowding as a kid so about 8 taken out. No gaps now. Never had any wisdom teeth.
FTFF · 01/10/2018 02:31
  1. 4molars removed for fixed brace in late teens and I have all my wisdom teeth, although one is really ropey!

I changed dentist and he didn't realise I'd had my molars out! He was doing the mapping thing and was Confused when the assistant couldn't chart the tooth due to extraction, didn't fill me with confidence.

lynmilne65 · 01/10/2018 11:33

Not enough 😟

Lellochip · 01/10/2018 11:50

28 countable, and 4 wisdom lurking somewhere. In my 30s so presuming they're happy enough below the gum line and will stay there now.

For the PP asking about braces as an adult, I was told I'd need teeth removing to make room to straighten wonky front teeth as a teen. I didn't want that, and the issue was minor enough (just cosmetic) that the dentist wouldn't have done it on the NHS anyway.

I much later found a different type of brace that didn't need any extractions so that's why I did it as an adult.
