How many teeth have you got?

Just that really. I do mean teeth of your own. I’m having an extraction tomorrow and will be left with 25 teeth. 12 top, 13 bottom. Seems enough to me, what do you think?

OP posts:
DappledThings · 30/09/2018 18:04

All 32. Didn't need to count, I was fully aware when my wisdom teeth came through in my 20s and I've not had any out

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/09/2018 18:05

24 and they are still crowded.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/09/2018 18:05

Weird that Mijah has ten more than me. Weird I tell you.

Exactly the same as you OP - 12 on top, 13 on the bottom. All my own,

One wisdom tooth extracted, two more never came through, and I had several teeth removed as a teenager before having railway track braces.

I have really nice teeth as a result of said braces (and good dental hygiene) - straight, white, no fillings. I smile a lot Smile

Chrisinthemorning · 30/09/2018 18:07

26- 12 upper, 14 lower. No spaces.
10 pairs of teeth that meet is considered enough for today’s diet- shortened dental arch theory.

TroysMammy · 30/09/2018 18:09
  1. Four removed as a child because of overcrowding. Luckily I never needed a brace.
Cachailleacha · 30/09/2018 18:10

28, never got wisdom teeth. My 12 year old has 24 (no 12 yr old molars yet).

LongSummerDays · 30/09/2018 18:12

Not going to count them but I have 3 missing at the top and 4 wisdom teeth out.

I also have a tooth growing about 1cm below my jaw which my dentist is keeping an eye on as it could cause problems later on.

Her0utdoors · 30/09/2018 18:13

28, including wisdom teeth. 16 extractions as a child. That was grim.

GirlInTheDirtyShirt · 30/09/2018 18:15
  1. Overzealous orthodontist when I was a child who took out loads of adult teeth (leaving me with gaps) plus my wisdom teeth never came through (one’s neatly impacted in my jaw and I keep putting off getting it dug out)
TallulahBetty · 30/09/2018 18:15
  1. Had 4 removed as a teenager as I have big teeth and a small mouth. Then I had my wisdoms removed a few years ago.
TallulahBetty · 30/09/2018 18:16

And i don't have gaps btw as I had braces to close them

SloeBerries · 30/09/2018 18:17

30, I have no lateral incisors and never have done.

Justabadwife · 30/09/2018 18:18

I have had 3 wisdom teeth out and 1 extraction because the dentist botched a filling and my tooth cracked and half of it came away.

newjobbb · 30/09/2018 18:18

28, I broke a molar last night so I reckon it will be 27 😖

MorningsEleven · 30/09/2018 18:18

27, I think. I have a bridge for 2 (accident when I was a kid) and one Wisdom tooth is gone.

ArtemisWeatherwax · 30/09/2018 18:19
  1. Teeny mouth here. And I had to have milk teeth removed to make way for the adult teeth to come through before they were moved. And every single injection was done without numbing cream. Every time I passed out and flapped around. It was a crappy time.
FruitCider · 30/09/2018 18:21

23, had 4 extracted for braces, 1 extracted as a root canal failed, and had the only wisdom tooth that cut through extracted as it was partially impacted.

0hCrepe · 30/09/2018 18:23

I’ve got 12 and 14. No wisdom teeth ever. Had 4 normal teeth taken out when I was about 12.

Can I also ask why do some people (I’ve only ever noticed women) have braces as an adult? Is it because they refused them as a teen?

YerAuntFanny · 30/09/2018 18:26

16 top, 14 bottom.

I have 3 wisdom teeth and no extractions.

LaceandChintz · 30/09/2018 18:27

I also have just 25. 3 out for spacing when young and 3 wisdom teeth out (plus one never came through) I have a pretty small mouth so never an issue and don't feel like I have too few!

HelloViroids · 30/09/2018 18:28

29 - 1 wisdom tooth out, one never came through, and one molar lost after grinding Sad
