Got a new pair of shoes today for the new season and as soon as I tried them on, DH and I both said 'Ooh, new shooooes!' While the DC looked as us like we'd lost the plot as usual. They are, of course, much too young to remember the Clarks advert but it is ingrained in our memories. Which led me to think about some of the best, most memorable TV ads. Which are the ones you still remember and quote?

I was born late 80s so way too young for most of the adverts featured but used to play it as I had older siblings. It was a board game with questions based around all the adverts. So much fun!

The Canadian-loggers-dancing-on-logs-in-the-river - Berocca... "You but on a really good day"...

Papa and Nicole is an emotional one for me, I was an au pair in France so when my Dad would phone to chat he’d always say “Nicole?” and I’d have to say “Papa?”. (We are not French!) He died when I was 25.

Whenever anyone in my family says the words "Let's go" someone else immediately supplies "British Caledonian" - even to this day!!

Also, my husband goes on and on about an advert that he vaguely remembers from the 80s or 90s with the words "Deliciously hot, with a choice of dip" or something like that. He has no recollection what it was for and has never met anyone else who remembers it - me included! If anyone else knows what it was for he'd be forever grateful and so would I because then he would shut up about it!

Loved the ad for Limara Body Spray "in four enchanting fragrances". Cartoon girl-babe strutting through a fantasy jungle before rescuing 'Sleeping Prince' with a kiss. Had a thumping rock backing track.

A radio one, but surely familiar to anyone in the northwest in the nineties/early 2000s :

"Buy a Bike ! Buy a Bike!
Get down to Charnock Richard Cycles!"

I never quite worked out where Charnock Richard is, but I know they have a bike shop!

Those of a certain vintage will remember this advert on ATV every Sunday afternoon. Sing along if you wish ...
