The ToTo shoe situation is almost as fascinating as the Tayto pairing. I think it's the bit that baffles me the most.

If I could be bothered I would be trying to find photos of him in the last 6 months and see what shoes he is wearing. Maybe he's been wearing them for years and he's really pissed off that we've only just noticed

I reckon the shoes is part of a release-photos-and-pretend-they-were-taken-on-different-days strategy. If he always looks the same, rocking his muted tones (or is that toting?) then no-one can prove/disprove when the photos are taken so the DM can keep going indefinitely with the TayTo snaps.

Dh reckons he has a whole wardrobe of the same clothes. Rows and rows of suede shoes and joules type quilted jackets....

Interesting when . Normally they wear the same outfit so the papers can't keep publishing the same picture and leave them alone/give up but this would be an interesting development on that.

Well he might be wearing the same clothes in every shot but she isn't, so not sure what that means. Maybe she told him she liked his outfit on the first date and he's scared to wear anything else.
