He's fine - he's been alright all week, really. He says he feels ill but he certainly doesn't seem ill. I think he discovered after his sister was ill that if one is ill then one doesn't have to go to school so I suspect him of having Plumbium Pendulosa :)

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 12:55

Mobile number massive. Funny you should say that though - crossed my mind I had to ring it back if only because you never know!!Wink. But seem to have no credit so haven't rung it yet!

Hi twigs - been missing you!Smile

It's the weekend nearly! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 13:51

Hee, hee - we're famous! Grin

Wow!! But you know we haven't truly made it on MN until we are quoted in the DM!!Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 14:06

ROFLMAO at the idea of any of our adolescent tripe intellectual musings being quoted in the DM! Grin

I think we are officially a quiche now though!

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 14:11

But obviously an inclusive quiche as people find it hard to tear themselves away and we draw people in!! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 14:24

Did you see I had to post a reply to that?

Must crack on and cram in half an hour of housework before school run. Been Christmas shopping all morning!

SupermassiveLBD · 11/11/2011 15:35

It is rather an accolade, that we, and the Man of course, are so compulsive a read. Well spotted, Spiro, and you gave us a great plug yourself Grin

ROFL @ Twigs' medical Latin. I suppose you can comfort yourself with the fact that Twigboy is obviously highly inteligent to have worked that out, bless him.

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 15:47

I have name for the next thread now:

Hotel California at The Armitage Academy: You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

Grin
SupermassiveLBD · 11/11/2011 16:06

Ah, but are there mirrors on the ceiling and pink champagne on ice, Spiro? Nothing so crass as the former, maybe Grin

TheSmallPrint · 11/11/2011 16:22

Afternoonio. Love the name check Spiro but I would be terrified if the DM ever mentioned us!!!

I am having a battle to get paid at the moment, first time someone has tried to weasel out of the final invoice and it's so upsetting as I need the cash desperately! I suppose it had to happen at some point.

I also love the commune designs and will start working these into the plans ASAP.

Anyone got any fab plans for the weekend?

TheSmallPrint · 11/11/2011 16:23

Only in Gizzys room Massive.

SupermassiveLBD · 11/11/2011 16:42

Gizzy is a bad, bad boy, Smallio. But comely, withal.

And useful. You could send him round with his big sword to persuade that client of yours that he better cough up.

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 17:08

What a fab idea Massive. Gizzy with his sword, porter with his RPG, Lucas with his gun and ability to make someone disappear, the lifeguard one in his Speedos!, Mr Standring with some manure, Harry with the whole population of Dibley would be pretty terrifying!, Mr Thornton, well he's a business man do I'm sure he'll be helpful and finally Thorin just cos he's magic!! who have I missed?!

Failing all that Smallio there's always the small claims court threat but I really hope it doesn't get there.

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 17:20

Obviously if I'd had the time and not been on my phone, I would have linked pictures to all those - please do the honours someone with them on speed dial! Grin

TheSmallPrint · 11/11/2011 17:24

Well what I wouldn't be able to do get with all those big men by my side.

I am playing it nicely at the moment Vamps and have sent them a copy of our signed agreement but I fear it won't get me anywhere. I'm not sure it isn't too much for small claims anyway - what's the limit these days?

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 17:30

Not sure, but if you've got a signed agreement, proof that you've provided the work as agreed and proof that they've not paid, they surely don't have a very strong case?

Have to say that it's the money side of things I'm finding hard with my new business. Feels awkward asking for money up front, bit pushy afterwards Hmm

I do hope you get it sorted easily - perhaps they've just forgotten they've not paid [hopeful emoticon]

By the way, no fab plans for this weekend. We are off to see my MIL and step-FIL - would normally be really looking forward to it. Now just a bit apprehensive, but after all your fab advice on here from you ladies, I'm planning on going as if it is a totally normal weekend with them within reason - I'll take my lead from her as to how much she can cope with the children climbing all over her and competing for attention obviously!!Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 11/11/2011 17:32

Never mind, Vampy, we all have the pics on speed dial in our brains.

I think the manure would be the biggest deterrent Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 17:51

£5k is upper limit for small claims, Small. Fingers crossed it doesn't get that far.

If sending the paperwork doesn't help - does your professional body or any insurance offer free legal advice by phone?

You could get some tips and send a follow up letter cc'ing the person you speak to. No cost to you, but you get put a solicitors name at the bottom of your next letter which is enough to scare the cr*p out of some upstarts that just like to try it on.

TheSmallPrint · 11/11/2011 18:21

Thanks Spiro, this isn't some upstart unfortunately, I suspect he can be a bit nasty. I have several friends who are solicitors and barristers so can always call on them but I don't like to ask.

Vamps I am the same with asking for money, I am rubbish at it.

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 19:05

No - I suspected upstart might not be 100% accurate! Well, fingers crossed it won't come to anything.

I once had to deal with highly unpleasant little man who I worked for briefly and who made me redundant after 8 weeks and refused to pay me the month's pay in lieu of notice I was entitled to.

It was a matter of principle really and work peanuts money-wise but he was such a sh1t I wasn't willing to let him get away with it.

He ignored my verbal requests, then replied to a written one in an extremely threatening tone, so I got some free advice via my car insurance company before responding and had my cheque within a week - very satisfying! Grin

As was the fact he went out of business a few years later.

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 19:23

Thinking about it. Never having watched RH but didn't he take from the rich for the poor?Hmm. So maybe we've actually found a use for PLF?

Here Smallio have some Wine chateau gizzy!

TransylvanianVampiress · 11/11/2011 19:46

Spiro the water bugs and dragonflies book has arrived!Sad but Smile too!

Thank you.

DumSpiroSpero · 11/11/2011 20:10

We found it really helpful - the analogy is nice and you can always leave the religious aspect out if you're not that way inclined.

I managed to get a little wire dragonfly and attached it to Miss Spiro's bunch of flowers at the funeral - I never see one without thinking of Great Nana now, although as wacky as it sounds I'm sure she's still with us in spirit - there have been several weird events/coincidences when I've though 'yup - that's nan making her presence felt!' Smile

TheSmallPrint · 11/11/2011 20:31

Spiro I might have to get you to write my letter for me.....

Vampy, hope all goes well this weekend Smile
