Evening, Spiro!

::Coughs pathetically::

That wallpaper is very nice except that the lower-case i makes me twitch.

::grammar geek::

I can assure you I never read the DM except when I click on links here and have a horrible shock my horizons expanded.

LadyDamerel · 05/11/2011 22:32

You'll have to photoshop his arm as well, Spiro, to put his tattoo in the right place.

DumSpiroSpero · 05/11/2011 22:36

Who's looking at his arm, Lady D? Wink

Maud the DM mag (visited the olds today) had a bit in about Joel & Jennifer Gray & that was the first thing they mentioned about him.

Phew! I'm definitely in the clear. I have had this earth-shatteringly important information for several weeks now!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 22:40

What have I missed? What have I missed?

Darn internet down all day..

off to catch up...

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 22:58

Well, I am glad Vampy is feeling better, and sorry Maud is still not on the mend.

I thought you had to believe in fairies, for Tinkerbell's sake.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/11/2011 23:01

Oh nooooo! The Girl is responsible for the death of Tinkerbelle.

::Adds to the many layers of maternal guilt::

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 23:04

So have you all been watching fireworks? I do miss Bonfire Night.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/11/2011 23:09

Are there no local festivals which feature fireworks, Massive? I didn't go tonight because I can't cope with cold air at the moment, as it sets me off something chronic.

LadyDamerel · 05/11/2011 23:13

You'd love our village fireworks, Massive. It's run by the local parish councillor who is the archetypal officious jobsworth. He dons his High-Viz jacket and hard hat and measures out to the nearest millimetre where the safety tape needs to be.

The fireworks are usually 3 family multipacks that are on offer in Sainsbos and there's a massive gap between each firing so no one knows if it's finished or if he's just waiting.

But the kids love it and the bonfire usually threatens the Tennis hut which adds a certain sense of danger and excitement.

PassTheTwiglets · 05/11/2011 23:14

Speaking, as we were, of fairies, I mentioned to MissTwigs that Tinkerbell flies across the sky during the fireworks at Walt Disney World and she gasped "what, the REAL Tinkerbell?!" How can she think Tinkerbell is real?! Don't get me wrong, I think it's lovely that she believes, and I keep it going as long as possible, I'm just incredulous that she can be so stupid innocent.

Oh, my coat is not a stylish thing at all, hardly worthy of a link. It just suits a purpose. What I like is the smart woollen coats like this but they just aren't warm, or rainproof. Yet the ones that are warm are the parka-style padded coats but they look dreadful and make me look like this. But I found one that is like the parkas but isn't too padded and frumpy but is really warm - and is water-repellant AND machine washable! Anyway, it's this one Though I had rejected it when looking online a few weeks back because it looks really plain and nasty but in RL it's a lot nicer and almost smartish. It looks horrid online though.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 23:15

We have the sort of special occasion fireworks featured in your link, Maud, but not your friendly family celebrations with lots of sparklers, parkin, treacle toffee and jacket potatoes.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 23:19

Twigs, that coat doesn't look horrible at all. I would buy it, anyway.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/11/2011 23:20

That coat looks very suitable for the job, Twiggy. I was so desperate last year for a padded coat that didn't make me look like the Michelin man (I share your pain here) that I got one from ::cough:: Cotton Traders Giorgio Armani.

Hmm. The very urban, bunting and cupcakes kind of display that The Bloke and The Girl went to is more barbecue and cava than parkin.

::Poncey southerners not doing things properly emoticon::

PassTheTwiglets · 05/11/2011 23:20

the bonfire usually threatens the Tennis hut which adds a certain sense of danger and excitement.

That really made me LOL!

Bitey-Knight. Massive, may you dream of another sort of fireworks instead... penny for the Guy?

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 23:25

Oh, Twigs, I reckon that Guy is worth at least tuppence.

I liked the tennis hut bit too.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/11/2011 23:27

There's a very rude joke there but I'm not going to be the one who makes it.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/11/2011 23:28

Burn, baby, burn, Nottamun inferno

LadyDamerel · 05/11/2011 23:28

Is there?

::watches Academy Perve crown slipping from her grasp::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/11/2011 23:31

Well, an opportunity for a Benny Hill style double entendre, maybe.

LadyDamerel · 05/11/2011 23:32

I did have a little smile to myself when they lit the bonfire with a large, flaming torch. Luckily the high-viz jacket dispelled any inclinations towards thudding I may have had.

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 23:33

Rude jokes aside, he's very lovely. Far more gorgeous than anything you see in the sleb mags.

Do you think they had sleb mags in the twelfth century? Now there's a thought.

LadyDamerel · 05/11/2011 23:34

Nope, still can't come up with anything, Maud.

::worried::

SupermassiveLBD · 05/11/2011 23:35

Didn't he make you beg, LadyD, before he'd light it? Wink
