One wouldn't be bored with a sword

I am so not going to go there...

DumSpiroSpero · 09/09/2011 17:15

Not what I was looking for, and not getting the dinner cooked, but Yum all the same. Grin

That scene where Guy's asleep and Marion appears to be giving him a back rub - is that a dream sequence???? Shock Hmm

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 09/09/2011 17:26

Grr don't have chance to look at that vid properly - but yes, that scene you mention is a dream he has when they are on the way to the Holy Land, towards the end of season two. I think the hands really belong to the Sheriff. Or was it Alan?

Poor Gizzy! Sad

DumSpiroSpero · 09/09/2011 17:45

Eeeewwww! Poor Gizzy indeed!

May I issue you all with a Stern Warning? Please take care when bored that you do not wander on to fanfiction sites and read disturbing things about Guy and the Sheriff.

Off to pour bleach into my eyes.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/09/2011 18:32

You do find yourself wondering, Twigs - the relationship seems very sinister at times.

DumSpiroSpero · 09/09/2011 19:07

I think it was that that put me off watching it until recently, tbh. There are quite a few 'moments' and Keith Allen is alarmingly good at playing them.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/09/2011 19:44

I could believe it happening, I just don't need to read about it!

Oh Spiro, what a lovely pic. A thing of beauty makes one thud forever.

::staggers in::

Apologies for omitting this from my post about falling standards in gentlemen's attire

SupermassiveLBD · 09/09/2011 21:29

Always the epitome of elegance, Maud. I love a man in a smart whistle myself, but you don't need expensive clothes to look good. A nice pair of jeans, a plain white teeshirt and a leather jacket -- heavenly.

I am sorry to report that male satortial standards on the Island are much the same as in the UK. If sweatier. I can't reemember if Brisitsh males have a strange liking for those long baggy shorts with much excess pocketry, beloved of our cousins across the pond. Because they are very fond of those over here. And very odd sandals.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/09/2011 21:34

Hmm, I generally prefer a more formal look to that, Massive, although I agree that a white t-shirt and leather jacket can look fine on the right gentleman.

And yes ::sigh:: those shorts are quite popular here, but probably less so than those sort of sawn-off trackie bottoms made of 100% nylon, accessorised with sweaty trainers and a beer belly.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/09/2011 21:44

Aha! the Fonz! You minx, Maudie, I thought it was going to be someone else.

Those shorts always seem to me to wear the person, rather than the other way around. The way they sort of sway, as their passenger progresses on his not so very merry way, is most unpleasant.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/09/2011 21:50

Ha! I knew that you'd be expecting someonething different!

Have I told you about when we saw Henry Winkler at the thee-ay-ter?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/09/2011 21:51

And we're going to need new premises very very soon.

::anxious::

SupermassiveLBD · 09/09/2011 21:54

No! Do tell! But first, we are in urgent need of a new home. What do you suggest we do? A Portakabin, or can you think of somewhere more permanent? Maybe something Spooky?

DumSpiroSpero · 09/09/2011 21:59

Aha! the Fonz! You minx, Maudie, I thought it was going to be someone else.

I have the gentleman in question winging his way to my doorstep as we speak. Grin

MrM wears his scarf like that, though

Spiro, do you wanna do a Lucas thread? Or is it someone else's turn? Maud, anyone? It's crunch time.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/09/2011 22:04

Spooks returns on Monday, so perhaps some sort of memorial institute for Lucas? Best not to include the words traitor, plummet or splat in the title, though.

HW appeared as Captain Hook in Peter Pan here. Apparently, he is very interested in panto as it hardly exists in the USA. Anyway, it was the last performance, the atmosphere was very ::ahem:: festive and at the end of the show there was a bunch of excited ladies in the audience shouting "Fonzie! Fonzie!"

I mean, really. Can you believe it? Middle-aged ladies getting giddy over an actor. How ridiculous.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/09/2011 22:09

Spooks isn't on Monday, Maudy. It's on a sunday, expected to be the 18th Sept. Clashes with Downton Abbey, grrr... yes yes yes to a Lucas thread! And LOL @ plummet and splat :) Go for it!

I'm watching BB, Spiro - we've watched it right from the start, love it :)

SupermassiveLBD · 09/09/2011 22:10

You just can't credit it, can you? You'd think at their age they woud have a little dignity.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/09/2011 22:16

Oops. Obviously wasn't paying proper attention to the trailer as I was still howling with laughter after Outnumbered. We have never watched Downton Abbey and have always watched Spooks, so it's no contest here.

I did think of dear old Ricky and was going to post a second pic in a I know this is who you were really expecting way, but I couldn't find a one where he was wearing a white t-shirt to match Massive's specification.

DumSpiroSpero · 09/09/2011 22:18

Middle-aged ladies getting giddy over an actor.

Who are you calling middle-aged you cheeky bint?! Grin
