Nope. Sorry Spiro.

It just covers too much of his face and makes him look jowly, which he most emphatically is not. I think his jawline, especially when enhanced by a little stubble, is very gorgeous and needs kisses trailing along it, perhaps a little lick or two as well shouldn't be so heavily covered up.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 23:10

It's a bit good isn't it Maud? Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 23:13

Now the covering up thing occurred to me too re the Beard, and I wonder if it works for some of us on the 'less is more' principal in the same way as Mr Thornton being covered up with just the occasional cravat removal hinting at what lies beneath not that I'm usually that subtle about such matters

I have a ::cough:: tendre for bearded men going back many years, Spiro. The Romanoff pic is the pick of the bunch, for me.

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 23:16

What did Harry make of the leathers, LadyD? I should imagine he would be a bit self-conscious!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:16

It's about the tactility, Massive. And how it feels when one is cheek to cheek.

LadyDamerel · 04/09/2011 23:17

It's not beards, per se. I think some men actually look better with beards than without.

However, RA falls very much into my No Beard camp.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:18

Alas, Massive, I am not bold enough to go to a formal dinner in a YSL smoking and so went in a frock. Although, come to think of it, I did used to go to work in a suit, crisp white shirt and Givenchy tie when that was the thing to do.

LadyDamerel · 04/09/2011 23:18

He was, then Geraldine ripped them off him - which is an understandable reaction, I thought Grin.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:18

Ooops. My last post but one should have been addressed to Spiro.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 23:20

I never thought I'd be that keen on the beard, but I find it crops up quite a lot these days in my frequent fantasies occasional daydreams.

As for how it feels when one is cheek to cheek...

The beard or the leather, Maud Shock

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 23:21

My position on the beard - to coin a phrase- is that I have always had an aversion to facial hair. Even stubble. Well, especially stubble, actually, i thought it affected and childish.

However, I really like his beard, it suits him. As part of his repertoire of looks, that is.

PS I really like the stublbe, too. Just sayin', in case you hadn't realised.

LadyDamerel · 04/09/2011 23:23

Ahem, Spiro?

GR?

::comes down from tenterhooks to add request for the Look to be included somewhere::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:23

You know perfectly well, Spiro, that I was referring to the beard. I have not been reading the Harry and Guy crossover porn.

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 23:30

Not all fanfiction is porn, you know, Maud Only about 99.9% of it

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 23:31

Harry and Guy crossover porn.

I have now got an image in my head that I really, really don't want there Maud. Confused

The beard or the leather, Maud

And indeed, which cheek?

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 23:36

Lady D - there are plenty of 'looks' in GR...take your pick!

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:37

I know, Massive, I was using the term as a sort of shorthand for writing likely to get ladies of a certain age fanning themselves and dribbling in an unbecoming fashion.

I meant the crossover between their wardrobes and personalities, Spiro.

::wonders if this is a new record for most facepalms in one evening::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:39

And indeed, which cheek?

not again

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 23:39
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:39

Oh no, not again

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 23:43

Mr Thorrnton looks quite enervated, Maud. You will have to bear him off for a little restorative thimble of Madeira

LadyDamerel · 04/09/2011 23:43

Spiro you just got me into trouble with your

Harry and Guy crossover porn.

I have now got an image in my head that I really, really don't want there Maud.

comment.

I snorted very loudly with laughter and LordD wanted to know what was funny.

'Erm, well.......

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 23:46

Well, the poor lamb is probably reeling from all the lewd and wanton behaviour he has had to witness this evening. You are quite right - a thimble of madeira would be just the ticket.

::Takes Mr Thornton by the hand and leads him to the boo-dwarr pantry::

Good night all!
