Night Twigs!

SupermassiveLBD · 21/08/2011 21:59

Some positive feedback on Twitter - mostly from men

That's because they couldn't stand the competition, I guess.

Lots of comments about it being 'the new 24'...

..says it all really.

DumSpiroSpero · 21/08/2011 22:04

Have given into temptation and tweeted my opinion that it's disappointing crap.

Sure that'll make me popular...Hmm

LadyDamerel · 21/08/2011 22:06

Have you seen next week's TV listings? Apparently he's narrating something called Fraud Squad on ITV1. Is that new or has it just passed me by before?

SupermassiveLBD · 21/08/2011 22:08

What I don't understand is if they wanted a new 24 why didn't they mke a new show entirely rather than demolish something that worked so well for a lot of people,

I'ts as though the Powers That Be have this inner urge to destroy anything remotely popular.

OP posts:
LadyDamerel · 21/08/2011 22:09

The new 24?

The 'new JP' character is rubbish - ooh look, he's such a stud, he's such an action man but he's got his soft side too, just see how nice he is to small children. FFS.

LordD seems fairly engrossed however, though he does watch any old crap Hmm.

DumSpiroSpero · 21/08/2011 22:10

Ooooh, interesting. I could probably sneak that in under Mr Spiro's radar - he likes that sort of stuff Grin.

The one upside to Strikeback was the playing of the Sky Sports ad in every commercial break with The Man narrating!

DumSpiroSpero · 21/08/2011 22:13

Am off for bath and bed now anyway.

See you at party tomorrow Grin!!!!

LadyDamerel · 21/08/2011 22:14

I wonder how it would have gone if RA hadn't had to rescind on his contract, whether the rot was already in the scripts and the changes in production team. JP in the first series was never going to be like this new guy. How much of it would they have to have rewritten?

SupermassiveLBD · 21/08/2011 22:19

Night Spiro, and sweet dReAms. Again Grin

Interesting point, LadyD. I've just been wondering what Chris Ryan makes of it all.

LadyDamerel · 21/08/2011 22:35

I've just been drooling over RAnet making up for missed ReseArch over the last fortnight and not-very-accidently changed the desktop picture to a JT pic. Oops. I wonder if LordD will notice ::whistles innocently::

TheSmallPrint · 22/08/2011 08:12

Well, that was a disappointingly short appearance Hmm. I watched the whole thing anyway but was slightly appalled at the blatantly misogynistic sex scenes which were graphic, coarse and unnecessary. Even Mr Small was a bit Hmm at them.

Not sure if I'll continue to watch or not.

PassTheTwiglets · 22/08/2011 09:09

My outfit is ironed and ready to go, see you tonight, ladies!

PassTheTwiglets · 22/08/2011 09:11

Did any of you see on Twitter that someone asked Stephen Fry to wish The Man a happy birthday from all his UK fans and SF replied "will do - we have just had a nice dinner together", or something...

TheSmallPrint · 22/08/2011 09:21

Why is The Man having dinner with Stephen Fry?

DumSpiroSpero · 22/08/2011 09:30

I guess you've got to do something on your birthday and if you're 12,000 miles away from your family and get on with your colleagues you're going to celebrate with them.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/08/2011 09:33

birthday fanvid from bccme.

Haven't watched it yet as on phone.

TheSmallPrint · 22/08/2011 09:35

Is Stephen Fry in the Hobbit? Confused

TheSmallPrint · 22/08/2011 09:36

link is not working Spiro, I'll go and trawl her channel.

TheSmallPrint · 22/08/2011 09:53

Hopefully will work. Great vid Smile.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/08/2011 10:01

Yes, he's in the Hobbit. And I believe a lot of the cast aren't back from the summer break yet.

PassTheTwiglets · 22/08/2011 10:02

I was going to post the vids for everyone tonight. There is another one, too, by the woman who makes them every year:

I haven't watched either yet, as children running around me and I need to concentrate. I got halfway through the first one but then DD came in and went "oooooooh, Richard Armitage!!" in a sarcastic way, so I switched off :)

Yes, Small, SF is in The Hobbit.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/08/2011 10:14

Mr & Miss S have just gone into town...mwahhahaha!!!! Grin

TheSmallPrint · 22/08/2011 10:19

Uh oh, that's Spiro done for the day!
