He has a very purposeful stride there, lady D, doesn't he?

TheSmallPrint · 29/07/2011 22:25

I'm feeling a little faint so best go and lie down, night all.

PassTheTwiglets · 29/07/2011 22:27

Lord Twigs, many typos there?

that bloke

she'd have been moaning

Oh, I was amused to see that the Royal Academy has a room called The Porter Gallery :)

SupermassiveLBD · 29/07/2011 22:28

We don't need to wish you sweet dReAms tonight then eh, Small? You need no encouragement whatsoever.

Twigs, so glad you had a great day Smile

LadyDamerel · 29/07/2011 22:35

Did you go entirely by yourself, Twigs? There's a few exhibitions on in Liverpool that I'd like to go and see but they aren't child friendly and none of my good friends would be interested. I'm not sure if I'd be brave enough to go on my own but that's just me being daft, I think. Your day sounds blissful.

OP posts:
LadyDamerel · 29/07/2011 22:39

I was just browsing for exhibits for our very own Porter Gallery but was distracted by this startling image. What on earth is that all about?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/07/2011 22:42

That is a depressed and gone-down-in-the-world Porter, after getting kicked out of the regiment, I think.

PassTheTwiglets · 29/07/2011 22:43

Yup, by myself. Oh it's fiiiiiine going by yourself, honestly! In fact, it's great :) I seriously wouldn't give it a moment's thought, just go! I do feel a bit uncomfortable sitting down in a restaurant by myself (have only done that a handful of times) but you just take a magazine or something and that's fine too. But as there's something to do at exhibitions etc. it doesn't feel weird at all. I worked in London for almost 20 years and often used to go to various things by myself in my lunch 'hour' (lunch hours there were very flexible and could often take 2 or 3 hours :o)

I'm off to bed now - night, everyone!
x

SupermassiveLBD · 29/07/2011 22:44

I need to get an early night Sad

Very busy weekend ahead but will try to pop in sometime.

LadyDamerel · 29/07/2011 22:44

Ah, that would explain the worrying combination of nylon jumper and mullet.

Not his best look, imo!

SupermassiveLBD · 29/07/2011 22:45

Night Twigs, night all!

LadyDamerel · 29/07/2011 22:46

Mm, bed for me too.

Night all.

::uses wet PSM to drive away unfortunate image of mullet::

Sweet dReAms..

In case I forget to say later, Spiro, I walked past the Tracey Emin exhibition. She had a few pieces at the Royal Academy today and I just thinking "that's all very ncie dear, but can't you just spell it properly?"

DumSpiroSpero · 30/07/2011 08:40

Morning - was lurking last night but didn't have the energy to post anything!

Glad you had a good day Twigs - I will have to make a note of that one for next year, but can't run to that and Tracey Emin with summer hols & DD's birthday looming, unfortunately.

I didn't notice her mis-spellings in the preview vid of the exhibition - just saw that she'd done a lot of Pop-Arty stuff and I really like that kind of thing. Went to our local museum and art gallery yesterday with my friend and our girls. Our taste in art is so different it was hilarious!

While I was out I found a lovely light fitting for the Academy common room. Grin

Also need to sort out when the next Academy party is as I will definitely be virtually wearing these!

PassTheTwiglets · 30/07/2011 08:48

I got a ticket for £7 instead of hte usual £10 if that would help, Spiro. You could do them in the same day so wouldn't be any extra train fare. The mis-spelling thing was in the one I went to, not the one you're going to. Here it is - 3rd pic from bottom if link doesn't take you straight to it. I'm sure it's all very arty and clever but it just grates on me. I wanted to get a red pen out and correct it :)

Is there a pun that I don't get with the light fitting...?

DumSpiroSpero · 30/07/2011 10:56

The light fitting design name is Plato...

PassTheTwiglets · 30/07/2011 11:11

Yes but I don't get the Plato reference... ?

LadyDamerel · 30/07/2011 11:27

Mr Thornton, Twigs

PassTheTwiglets · 30/07/2011 11:28

:)

LadyDamerel · 30/07/2011 11:36

I hope you're planning on virtual sitting down all night in those shoes, Spiro.

I forgot to tell you but the funniest thing about my stakeout at the Odeon on Weds was watching all the girls teeter in on shoes like that . They couldn't walk properly at all, it was more of a duck like waddle.

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 30/07/2011 11:53

That's why is only ever wear something like that virtually! I've got some lovely wedges for Thursday but I've been worrying about even wearing them for about a week already.

SupermassiveLBD · 30/07/2011 12:08

Those shoes would be just the very thing to go with my legendary LBD, Spiro. I have to admit to a moment of irrational lust.

As opposed to the entirely rational sort , of course.

Aha, you all thought that was going to be this one didn't you? Grin

I am going to be super-busy the rest of the weekend but will try to pop in now and then.

Mwaah! Love you!

PassTheTwiglets · 30/07/2011 12:45

Aha, you all thought that was going to be this one didn't you?

Yup! :) (but then, to be fair, it usually is :o)

Spiro, ROFL, yesterday I was worrying about you wearing your wedges all day too :o I was thinking about shoes to wear (after being in agony myself and having to ring DrTwigs to get him to pick me up from the station). I am so rubbish in shoes and can't seem to wear anything even remotely nice-looking all day. I wore my comfy, flat Clarks ballet shoes yesterday and even they were agony after a whole day! But then I only sat down for about an hour and the entire rest of the day was walking. So I was wondering how on Earth you can wear gorgeous shoes like your wedges all day and feeling sulky that I can't!

Should we book tickets? I suppose it's highly unlikely to be sold out in the middle of a weekday, but would be awful if it was!

PassTheTwiglets · 30/07/2011 12:45

Oh and good luck to Massive for your RL stuff - hope to see you now and again!

TheSmallPrint · 30/07/2011 13:09

I'm coming in jeans and trainers oh and a t shirt.

I wonder how Lady V is doing in her triathlon.
