Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

PasstheTwiglets · 21/06/2011 17:44

ROFL at Little Miss Naughty and Mr Uppity! I like Mr Cool too, Small, though, to quote the lovely doctor, that's cheating :)

Little Miss Petulant?

TheSmallPrint · 21/06/2011 18:35

Why is that cheating Twigs?

PasstheTwiglets · 21/06/2011 18:57

I meant it was cheating because I didn't think there was a Mr Cool - but maybe he is one of the crappy new ones written by Roger Hargreaves' son (I don't know many of those ones). Will let you off if so :)

DumSpiroSpero · 21/06/2011 19:04

TheSmallPrint · 22/06/2011 10:38

Grin at Mr Sex On A Stick and Mr Cheeky!

DumSpiroSpero · 22/06/2011 17:27

Thank you for Mr Cheeky, Maud! I really like the recent Gizzy pics too, although let's face it, I'm not exactly fussy.

Just seen a Tweet - the recent photoshoot will be in the August issue of Recognise magazine.

How is everyone today? Did you enjoy the duck pond Twigs? I spent the afternoon at a local kids arts event that DD was taking part in. Luckily it was held at the private school where Mr S works, so he popped in while they were setting up and manage to reserve front row seats Grin!

PasstheTwiglets · 22/06/2011 18:16

Ta for the Recognise info, Spiro.

TwigBoy's first school trip was lovely, thank you! They are all so cute at that age - a different story to the 8 year olds I'm taking on another trip tomorrow! I was so proud of DS today - one kid thumped a little girl and my DS went straight up to her and gave her a huge cuddle. I practically burst with pride.

DrTwigs has just aonnounced he's having an evening out for the first time in ages and I'm having a sudden emergency panic at the thought of all the DVD options that are open to me :) I just finished Pride & Prejudice yesterday so am in a bonnets mood and want to watch Persuasion but not sure I can stand the grainy pic as I never got around to ordering another one. Speaking of Pride & Prejudice, I must say that I was very disappointed by the kiss at the end - it seemed completely lacking in any affection or passion. I waited 6 episodes for that?! But then I suppose all kisses pale into insignificance compared to The Kiss.

DumSpiroSpero · 22/06/2011 18:38

Ahh - well done Master Twiglets! They are cute at that age although I think you're very brave to do a school outing, let alone sign up for another one tomorrow, although I don't suppose you have much option if you do it for one.

I love DD to bits and always have time for her friends but hordes of random children...

PasstheTwiglets · 22/06/2011 19:52

I usually quite enjoy them but always find I have a banging headache when I get home :)

What was MissSpiro's part in the arts thing, what did she have to do? Speaking of arts, Maud, I have decided to go to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, I can't wait. I am really missing out on Culture these days, and also desperately in need of some alone time so I thought I'd combine the two! Aaaah, all that peace and quite and solitude... bliss! I've never been to the Academy before.

I have a giggle to share with you. Some of you may know the kids book You Choose, designed to get children to use their imaginations and make up stories. There is an illustration of a door with the caption "A secret door! What could be on the other side?" and last night the kids wre coming up with their own answers. Then MissTwigs said "I bet I know what would be on the other side of your secret door, Mummy - it would be a big room with lots of Richard Armitages in it, all saying "helloooooooo!" :o

DumSpiroSpero · 22/06/2011 20:05

I like the way Miss Twigs thinks! Grin

Dd's thing was a rainforest themed performance by several local schools. Her class did a dance & drumming thing to 'I wanna be like you' from the Jungle Book.

PasstheTwiglets · 22/06/2011 20:14

Oh I was listening to that song in the car, only a few hours ago!

It was really funny how she said "hellooo!!" actually - like Vic & Bob with their handbags, if anyone remembers that.

So, I think a bit of Lucasy Goodness will be in order tonight. Or possibly JP on fast-forward.
