Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

Hello Chairmum! Welcome!

Maud, that Lucas picture was simply DIVINE. Lovely to have some new ReseaRch mateRiAls. And I got a real giggle out of the Whistler's Mother comparison :)

What is everybody up to today? We are off to Pizza Express at lunchtime and then I fully intend to have a day of doing not very much. Though it rarely works out that way!

DumSpiroSpero · 19/06/2011 07:06

Bleurrrgh - too early (not that I shouldn't be used to it by now).

I'm on cooked breakfast duty as it's Fathers Day, then off to my olds for the afternoon while Mr S plays cricket.

TheSmallPrint · 19/06/2011 08:04

I couldn't find the curtains, i think someone took them already .

I have a bit of a hangover, I only had a couple of Gizzys but I really can't cope with anything but virtual alcohol these days.

So important I brought it twice Grin. Bloody phone.

PasstheTwiglets · 19/06/2011 08:28

Did you go out last night, Small, or were you just at home?

Curtains? Moi? I don't know what you mean...

Oh go on then, here they are

TheSmallPrint · 19/06/2011 11:26

Now I ma sitting here drinking frothy coffee and brownies

TheSmallPrint · 19/06/2011 11:26

Evening ladies. Nice to see all the furnishings arriving, bit by bit. Thank you , Twiggy for the curtains, there's a good girl.

Father's Day Fun here chez Massive, so I have to disappear again for a while- back later I hope.

it's not my father!!?? Confused ]

PasstheTwiglets · 19/06/2011 19:12

Fancy a new game? Inspired by a relentless Mr Men session, Chez Twigs...

Mr Noisy

Mr Nosey

Mr Greedy

and my favourite:

Mr Tickle

PasstheTwiglets · 19/06/2011 19:15

I was very tempted to post a few pics for Mr Bounce but thought better of it, what with it being before the watershed :o

Massive, is that 'Fun', in inverted commas?

SupermassiveLBD · 19/06/2011 19:24

We don't do Spongebob here so it is just the ordinary sort of fun, Twiggers.

The Mr Men were a firm favourite however. They have even been translated into Islandish. Do you know, I guessed who Mr Noisy was, ROTFL

Wish I had time to play, must dash, I can smell something very well done from the direction of the kitchen.

PasstheTwiglets · 19/06/2011 20:40

Spongebob?

Bleurgh, am full of cold so am going to drink wine recuperate. We are re-watching The West Wing, right from S1... any WW fans here?

SupermassiveLBD · 19/06/2011 20:59

Remember that F.U.N. RH vid? Twigs, that was a Spongebob Squarepants song. I thought you were referring to that.

So a cold was why you were feeling so awful on Dr Twigs's birthday. I hope the good doctor is in attendance though as you are germy he will have to peer at you over the edge of his surgical mask if he doesn't want to catch them from you.

Meanwhile, guess who burnt the can-apes... Sad

DumSpiroSpero · 19/06/2011 21:00

Has everyone had a good day? Much the same as usual chez Spiro, although I did do Mr S a full English this morning (which is my pet hate in the cooking department).

DD in bed now - me on sofa with wine & Sunday supplements at last Smile!

SupermassiveLBD · 19/06/2011 21:02

sorry that reads in an accusatory fashion. It should be
Remember that vid, Twigs?

SupermassiveLBD · 19/06/2011 21:04
SupermassiveLBD · 19/06/2011 21:05

Sigh

DumSpiroSpero · 19/06/2011 21:31

Tomato omlette? Yuck! Surely the tomato juices stop it from setting?

I wouldn't mind so much if I ate the end result myself but I can't remember the last time I had a proper cooked brekkie. DD on the other hand, is like my own personal Hobbit & will quite happily do 3 breakfasts if she's up early enough at the weekend.

SupermassiveLBD · 19/06/2011 21:43

I am expected to cook the (skinned) tomatoes first so they are pretty much dry, that's why I hate the b*ggers so much, two gunky frying pans, etc.

I am not a morning person either so trying to do all that in a semi-comatose condition is hard, very hard.

I'll tell you straight, if Gizzy rode by at that hour and stuck his hand out the way he does, I'd tell him on yer bike. -- or rather horse.

Although then again...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/06/2011 23:28

Are you sure, Massive? Really?

When my love swears that she is made of truth
I do believe her, though I know she lies,

SupermassiveLBD · 20/06/2011 00:01

I think he means I was economical with the truth.

but I really really really have to go to beddy-byes now.

Goodnight all

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/06/2011 00:26

Bonsoir a tous!
