Of course, I am violently allergic to cats...

The only picture we have of the Dean is not overly flattering but in my head he looks a little more like this

Come in, enjoy, help yourself to Twiglets.
Yours sincerely, a Fair Trespasser.

::Wafts Spiro with great aunt Agatha's ostrich feather fan::

Based on a very cursory glance ::cough:: it looks to me, Spiro, as if he is posing for an onlooker to take a picture with a camera/phone.

I think you should get something that looks reasonably grass-like within six weeks. You probably don't need as much as 3 inches of compost, and grow it outside - I'm not sure whether grass will germinate indoors. A drip tray from a garden centre might do the job.

Thinks: I must be a very slack mummy because Girl seldom gets school projects and, when she does, we normally cobble something together the day before it has to be handed in.

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 21:25

Me too, Spiro, re the blood pressure. That pic is a killer.

PasstheTwiglets · 17/05/2011 21:29

The curtains don't seem to fit so well here - have they shrunk in the wash or has someone been pilfering the odd remnant...?

Saracen bow? I don't get it...

And who is MrsFlittersnoop? I am very confused this evening!

The blood pressure monitor is being rushed here!

PasstheTwiglets · 17/05/2011 21:34

LOL at the Armitage litter trays!! Someone has been Goggling "Armitage" and "kittens", n'est ce pas? :o

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 17/05/2011 21:38

That is one doctor that really wouldn't help anyone's blood pressure - unless it actually needed raising (fortunately mine tends to be on the low side!).

Thanks for the tips Maud - will get it started at the weekend. We're going to make a paper mache volcano with a chamber in the middle to do the bicarb trick! Will have to make do with plastic dinosaurs though!

Tbh I have tried to step back & let DD get on with it so far this year, but then she rushes things and I get really frustrated as she's very bright & has fantastic handwriting for her age but her presentation is terrible. I'm just trying to encourage her to take a bit more pride in, and therefore, time over her work.

DumSpiroSpero · 17/05/2011 21:43

Was just looking at litter trays thinking they'd make s good base for dino world and that was the first one that came up!

I must admit that being a 'cat person' a RL photo of Mr A wielding a basket of kittens would work for me very nicely! Can just imagine him in Harry Kennedy mode, snugly jumper, book in one hand, cute little mog in the other

TheSmallPrint · 17/05/2011 21:44

Oh blimey, I have a combination of no broadband signal and MN playing silly buggers so I am struggling to keep up.

Last nights shenanigans have left me rather exhausted so I think I may call it a night and hope for delicious dReAms. Night all.

PS pleased to see you found your way to the new building Kara and welcome MrsFlittersnoop (although I'm not sure our fine institute was quite what you expected? I hope I am mistaken Grin )

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/05/2011 21:45

I had a shock this afternoon when one of Girl's teachers told me that she had the neatest handwriting and presentation in the group. Presumably she hasn't looked at this week's disgraceful homework yet.

Further gratuitousness

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 21:49

Twigs
Exhibit A

Exhibit B

KaraToytown · 17/05/2011 21:51

Not sure about kittens but some other furry creature seems to have attached itself here

KaraToytown · 17/05/2011 21:53

aaargh no - it seems to be spreading

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 21:53

Maud, maybe it's you who haven't seen the work turned out by the rest of Girl's group

To clarify, Twigs, look at the top lip.

KaraToytown · 17/05/2011 21:54

Phew it's gone

Just showing off now because I've learned how to do links!

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 21:55

That is rather an applealing furry creature, Kara. Is it related to a tribble, do you think?

PasstheTwiglets · 17/05/2011 21:55

LOL, Kara! I'm not one for wildlife on chins but what a delightful cReAture it is.

No contest between A and B there, Massive but what prompted the mention of a Saracen bow?

Night night, Small - sweet dReAms! I'm off too, goodnight sweet ladies....

For Twiggy

Exhibit C

That's the spirit, Kara. Do bring new research materials into the Academy. But don't, pray, diss the beard. Some of us around here are confirmed pogonophiles.

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 21:57

Can't anyone else see the resmeblence??? Ignore the PLFW

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 21:58

I think Maud's got it
she's really got it.

TheSmallPrint · 17/05/2011 22:00

I think everyone except Twigs got it months ago! Night!

PasstheTwiglets · 17/05/2011 22:00

::Holds minute's respectful silence for the late and much lamented in some quarters beard::

It seems to me that the one drawback of this fine institution is the lack of appropriate audio-visual material. .

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 22:02

Night, Smallio, sweet dReAms of the relevent part.

SupermassiveLBD · 17/05/2011 22:05

Der jus' aint no Poh-etry in yuh, Twigstah. Innit.
