Of course, I am violently allergic to cats...

The only picture we have of the Dean is not overly flattering but in my head he looks a little more like this

Come in, enjoy, help yourself to Twiglets.
Yours sincerely, a Fair Trespasser.

no idea what this thread is about, but with my name I thought I'd better wander in and say hi Smile

SupermassiveLBD · 05/06/2011 17:51

Welcome, Venetia, indeed!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/06/2011 17:57

In case no one else enlightens you, this is a thread about the Life and Works of the actor Richard Armitage, who has recorded a very popular audio book version of the Georgette Heyer novel with which you share a name.

Welcome, Venetia - how's that gorgeous husband of yours?

B*gger - were there some of us here who haven't read/heard the book and for whom I've just ruined the plot?!?!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/06/2011 18:08

Don't worry ,Twigs. Being as it's a Georgette Heyer, it's kind of a given that the heroine will eventually Get Her Man Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2011 18:11

How lovely to see you, Venetia. As you will have deduced, this is a serious research institute, consecrated to the study of beauty and truth as personified by a certain tall dark handsome gentleman. We are very fond of literature, including the works of Ms Heyer, which we often appreciate whilst reclining on the chaise longue. Pray share your knowledge and expertise with us.

And especially for the fans of Keats amongst us ...

Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness

That's true, Massive. I must say, I do sometimes love films/books where you know exactly what's going to happen before you've even opened the book :)

I have just watched the first episode of Colin Firth's FWS Pride And Prejudice. Can you believe I have never seen this before? I am Shock at it myself. Loved it though.

Are you saying that this isn't serious, Massive?

::reaches for smelling salts::

SupermassiveLBD · 05/06/2011 18:29

Ahem, of course it's serious, Maud!

ROFL @ the new name for P&P, Twigs. A souped up title for the Modern Age, look a treat on the new DVD re-issue

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2011 18:43

Do you mean to say, Twigoletto, that you had never before rested your gaze on this?

PasstheTwiglets · 05/06/2011 19:13

I know Maud, shameful, isn't it? I have, of course, watched that scene before but have never watched the whole thing.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/06/2011 19:50

Bet you've watched Bridget Jones though Grin

PasstheTwiglets · 05/06/2011 19:59

Oh just 473 times once or twice, Small :)

Nice boys don't kiss like that...

Jolly pleasantly, Maud.

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 05/06/2011 20:11

And who hasn't? It's on television every other day!

Twas quite good kissing but not as lovely as Mr T or Mr P even.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2011 20:16

Often imitated, never bettered

SupermassiveLBD · 05/06/2011 20:21

Poor old Gizzy, he never gets in a really good snog, does he?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2011 20:25

He doesn't get a really good snog on screen, Massive.

::averts gaze::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2011 20:26

Others of a sensitive disposition also avert their gaze

TheSmallPrint · 05/06/2011 20:27

I don't know, he's had a couple of good pashes with Marion even if she was only faking it Grin

TheSmallPrint · 05/06/2011 20:31

The threads dead baby, the threads dead!

SupermassiveLBD · 05/06/2011 20:33

That's not what I call a really really good one though, Small.
